The Foundation for Lee County Schools was an amazing blessing to me and my family. I was fortunate enough to have been selected as one of the first Golden Apple Teachers in Lee County. The level of community, state and national support was amazing. A never seen before black tie evening was presented. There was a letter read from President Reagan, a video from the national education director and the Florida Commissioner of Education was there. It was a night I will never forget. It helped in so many ways to enrich my career as a teacher. The Foundation provided me with activities and opportunities for professional growth beyond my wildest dreams. It made me truly see that others cared about the teaching profession in a profound and substantial way. Many teachers, students, parents and community members have benefited greatly and continue to benefit from this wonderful organization. I will always be thankful, Ken Wright
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools provides essential support for Lee County teachers. As a long-term teacher, at times it feels like the Foundation understands our struggles and victories better than any other group in Lee County. No matter what, the Foundation is always there for us and its policies are never critical or petty. The Foundation's generosity and unwavering positivity toward educators inspires me to continue in the profession. Thank you!
I love this foundations. They help me so much with having what I need for my students. It is an amazing non-profit and so appreciated.

They provide so many great resources and opportunities to not only students but also teachers! They always go out of their way to help teachers get the supplies and resources needed to be successful in the classroom. Their Golden Apple program is a great opportunity to recognize the impact teachers are making on the students in Lee County!
I am an art teacher and am able to come in and grab supplies that I most likely run out of like pencils, pencils, glue sticks, and more! Sometimes there are great other finds that I can use for mixed media projects!
Amazing, giving, uplifting! This foundation seeks to spread positivity and light through recognizing, awarding, and loving on teachers and students in our county!
The Foundation is a wonderful organization that benefits the entire community. The encourage and support teachers, students, and families. They have made a profound difference in my life as a teacher and I am grateful for the work that they do that also supports my students and all schools!!
The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools Inc is a nonprofit organization who always goes above and beyond to help educators, students and families. They help through scholarships, recognizing their hard work and other hardships they might experience. Their work and dedication is admirable!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an amazing non-profit organization. They are constantly working to further the needs of teachers and their students. Just some of their programs include the Golden Apple Teacher recognition program which honors six teachers in the district who represent all the fantastic teachers working in Lee County. They have the Take Stock in Children mentoring program, the teacher resource center to provide supplies for teachers and ultimately their students, and a scholarship program for students who wish to become teachers in Lee County. There are multiple additional services this foundation provides to serve the needs of the education profession in Lee County. The entire staff of this Foundation work tirelessly to provide for the teachers and students. I am honored to be able to recognize them for their fantastic work!
The foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a wonderful resource for teachers! They are a place where new teachers and old can find free resources. They also have been so helpful with providing opportunities for grants! I received a grant a few years ago to help my students learn to read and saw results I never would have otherwise. This is a great organization who really cares!
The foundation has been amazing in helping me feel supported and have the resources for everything I need starting my new career in education.
What a great resource for teachers. They have amazing grant opportunities, endless amounts of new and different supplies all free to the educators and have been so helpful to me.
Everyone I have come in contact with at The Foundation has been super friendly, kind and positive.
The Foundation has been instrumental is assisting high school seniors with the FAFSA journey. The Future Makers Team, especially Stella and Patty, are knowledgeable, helpful, and absolutely delightful to work with. They give 100% of themselves to each student and/or family. They come to evening events and will stay all day at an area high school just to assist in getting the job finished. When we have situations with students that are fragile, they deliver information with compassion and caring, yet driven, advocacy. The joy and passion they emit upon a student's completion of this application is infectious.
We would not have the FAFSA success at Ida Baker High School without the support of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
This Foundation truly supports the teachers and staff in the classroom. As a new teacher, I would have trouble funding all projects for my elementary students. Having access to supplies, helped me to have appropriate centers that supported my students in their learning. Now, as a veteran teacher, I still have access for supplies as well as helping my students with other necessities. After the Hurricane, the Foundation provided clothing so that our students felt comfortable returning to school after they lost everything. The primary function of a school is to educate our students, but we cannot do that when they do not have appropriate supplies, or if they feel uncomfortable coming to school because they don't have clean clothes to wear. This Foundation, not only supports teachers, but fully supports the classroom and thus the students.
I picked up useful supplies for my students. Supplies were well organized. Staff was wonderful.
Always could use more notebooks and pencils.
Signage for building made location hard to find.
Mariner Middle School Teacher- new to district.
This organization has helped Lee County Teachers reach their full potential by giving teachers necessary supplies for their classrooms, and training, accepting, and funding grants written by the teachers for their students learning. They recognize teachers in the district who go above and beyond teaching and bring their kids with them on this journey of learning. Finally, when faced with a hurricane, which destroyed many schools in the district and teachers homes, they stepped up and supplied teachers with new or gently used clothing and received more donations for teachers and students who lost all their possessions.
I am a teacher in the Lee County School District. I have often gone to pick up supplies for my class and have had many colleagues get supplies for their classes as well. The Foundation also honors teachers with Golden Apple and Collegium activities. As an educator, this is reason enough for me to love this nonprofit organization. Then, Ian came into our lives. I was one of the fortunate who had little damage, but there were so many people who lost so much. The foundation provided clothing, food, cleaning supplies and other basic necessities to the community. I brought a family to "shop" there and saw so many others getting the supplies they needed. The sense of relief was overwhelming. They continue to serve our community with open hearts! The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is the best!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools provides much needed support to the students of Lee County through mentorship and scholarship programs. STEM Programs, classroom grants, and much, much more. The Foundation also celebrates teachers through the Golden Apple program and Collegium. The Foundation is a focal point through which businesses large and small support the Lee County Public School District.
They are a constant support system for teachers and students in Lee County. The foundation is a storehouse of resources, materials, and lessons. When I was a new teacher, they helped me build my class library with chapter and picture books.
As a teacher, I have always been able to go the the resource center to get things I need for the classroom. They have almost new books, teacher supplies, student supplies, and extra fun things like puzzles. I wouldn't have a classroom library without them! They are also very accomodating. During the summer, I wanted to go since I had some time. When I called, they set me up a time that day so I could go in. They are also always very helpful to carry all those books back to my car! Thank you!
Marshall and his team go above and beyond in support of the students and teachers in the Lee County Public Schools. This year, in light of the disruption and destruction visited upon the region by Hurricane Ian, the Foundation will doubtless be called upon to work even harder this year. I have no doubt it will be up to the task!
Thank you so much to the Foundation For Lee County Public Schools with all of your support to teachers, students, and our community during the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Your generosity and support helped to ease the burden of many lives impacted by this devastating event. You are appreciated!
So supportive to teachers and students in the community! Always has a surplus of supplies to meet all of our needs.
I was going back in the classroom to teach after several years and wanted to set up centers as well as have some supplies on hand for students in needed. I went to the Foundation Resource store to get what I needed for the next school year. I was able to pick up folders organize the centers as well as packs of paper, pencils, spiral notebooks, and binders for the students use.
The little things such as pencils really help, because students always borrow a pencil but rarely return it. By the end of the day my pencil cup was low or empty.
The resource store is a great place for teachers to get much needed supplies for their classroom or a student in needed. I try to go every year to have supplies on hand in case a student needs something even when I'm not their classroom teacher. It makes them feel good to be able to go to class prepared. It's one less thing they have to worry about for the day so their focus is on learning.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc provides a numerous amount of teacher supplies for FREE to over 5,000 teachers every week. They sponsor The Golden Apple Recognition program for all teachers. They consistently look for ways to help teachers in Lee County.
This is an non-profit that I have donated to and bought from. I have also was able to get free supplies that I needed. They are the best NON-Profit in Lee County. Staff is very pleasant and helpful with additional sources if they do not have something.
Through the foundation of Lee County Schools I was invited to a five-day professional development at Tween Waters Resort. While there I had 40-hours of professional development with a room of fellow educators from across the county. During that I time I was able to forge relationships that I never would have had the opportunity otherwise. Because of these relationships my life has been enriched by professionally and personally. The Foundation of Lee County Public Schools depends on donations from the community to support our students a teachers.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has been a constant positive presence in our community for countless years. In my twenty plus years teaching, I have always been able to count on them for classroom support in the way of grant programs, teacher and student recognition, donations of supplies, and so much more. The staff is warm and inviting and they are there for whatever the students and staff of Lee County schools might need.
The Foundation is an awesome partner for Lee County Schools. One of my favorite services is the Teacher Resource Center. Public Libraries donate gently used books and classroom teachers are able to build a quality library for their classroom for free! In addition there are loads of school supplies, office supplies and other must-haves for teachers.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc. is one of the most outstanding organizations in Lee County. As an educator, I can attest to the commitment and dedication that the foundation puts forth to ensure that the students and teachers of our district are supported. Programs ranging from Take Stock in Children to the Golden Apple are just a few events that help raise awareness in our county. The work of the foundation is truly remarkable.
Although I am now retired, the Foundation provided me with connections to help me help my students whether it was tutorial programs , assistance in seeking college grants or learning about local resources available.
The Foundation has a wealth of knowledgeable staff, all of whom are eager to help our teachers and students alike.
The Foundation for Lee County Public School and Marshall do so much for the teacher of Lee County from their Golden Apple Program, to grants for classroom, scholarships to college, and an open-door policy for supplies for the classroom. I cannot thank the Foundation for everything they have done for me over the past 22 years.
The Foundation does a great recognizing teachers through the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program as well as providing the free education resource center. The opportunity to get school supplies for their classrooms is invaluable to first-year teachers and even well-established teachers in the School District of Lee County.
I am proud to say that the Foundation does a great job collaborating with local businesses to benefit our teachers and students in our community.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools continually supplies teachers and students with materials to promote their success. Often it is difficult to find the tools necessary to be a productive educator. This Foundation has the goal of enhancing student learning through their focused distribution of time, objects, and ideas as they partner with many community organizations. This distribution is well-thought-out and maintained by the caring individuals within the organization and those they partner with from our community.
Several years ago, the Foundation graciously gave me a classroom grant for assorted nonfiction books for my classroom. These books have brought both joy and enrichment to countless students. Thank you again!
Ms. B.
I have taught for 10 years in this county...25 years in CT before that. In all those years, I have never come across another organization that does more for a school district and the teachers than The Foundation. This is not hyperbole or lip service. This organization's sole purpose is to enhance the teachers' experience in the classroom, honor and recognize the difficult work, and provide whatever they can to the School District of Lee County.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is awesome! The Foundation is all about supporting education for students from Kindergarten through college years. They visit high schools, helping students acquire funding for college by teaching students in workshops and hands on opportunities. The Foundation also provides workshops in the community to help parents understand resources for college. Lee County Foundation also provide items for all of the classrooms in our district. The Foundation continues to provide access to education for those less fortunate who wouldn't be able to do on their own. Finally, when there is a need like hurricane victims they reach out to the community for support. The Foundation is always seeking ways to serve.
THE FOUNDATION FOR LEE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS does so much. They are an integral part of the high school experience. One of The Foundation's initiatives is STEM@Work. STEM@Work is a collaboration between the School District of Lee County and The Foundation and gives high school students an opportunity to see how STEM related activities are used in business. This experience provides hands-on activities through partnerships with businesses in the community. It takes a lot of planning and coordination to make this activity so successful, from developing partnerships with local businesses to arranging transportation for the students. At the end of the year The Foundation puts on a great “Wrap-Up” party at FGCU where the participants get to explore their inner engineering skills and build “marble drops” or “catapults” and have a catered lunch. STEM@Work would not be possible without the herculean effort of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools serves the students, educators and staff in Lee County. As a 2011 Golden Apple recipient, I began working with The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. The Golden Apple process was rewarding and taught me a lot about my own teaching. The selection committee included community and business leaders.
As an administrator, we hire new teachers to our district each year. Some of these teachers are joining us right after earning their degree. They are looking for supplies to create a warm and welcoming learning environment. The Foundation offers supplies to every classroom. Entering The Foundation, you immediately get excited about being part of this district. Resources are readily available and monthly invitations are sent out to the staff reminding them that the supplies are available.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an incredible organization that goes above and beyond to do what is best for the students and employees of Lee County School District. They are constantly recognizing outstanding accomplishments as well as supporting teachers with their awesome resource center. I am so appreciative of everything they do for our students and our schools!
The Foundation for Lee County Schools is a continuous support of educators and our system. I was honored to be a Golden Apple Finalist; during that time, I received recognition and support in the community, which led to networking with educators in our district to refine best practices to impact student learning positively. I learned techniques such as how to guide discussions around data and increase classroom engagement. The Foundation offers educational grants to fund projects in our schools, including class sets of books to support positive thinking and STEAM.projects. Another aspect that the Foundation provides that has helped my students and I has been the resource center. I have picked up supplies for my classroom, including class sets of books, backpacks for kids in need, and classroom furniture such as a filing cabinet. Without the resource center, this would have been additional out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, Marshall, Bev, and the incredible staff continually strive to adapt to ensure they are providing for any need, as evidenced by the STEAM event and the rapid response to offering clothes, household items, and school supplies to educators in need due to hurricane Ian.
I just completed a grant writing training at The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. I wrote a grant for a book vending machine with another teacher at my school. We would never be able to offer something like this for our students without the support of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. They are making a huge impact on teachers and students!

I love the opportunity I have to be a volunteer working through my company to work with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools in their STEM@Work programs. I see the true benefits it brings to the students of Lee County Public Schools in exposing them to companies' workplaces and seeing how STEM relates to real-world careers. The leadership and staff are amazing professionals who always go above and beyond for the students and their families. They are an inspiration that keeps me wanting to do more.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a wonderful foundation that supports teacher and educators in Lee County. I have had so many great memories over the past few years at events for teachers the foundation has hosted as well as opportunities to help my students through grants.
This nonprofit organization has helped so many students by introducing all the job opportunities in our area. Not only, do they organize the events, the organization provide activities and real-life scenarios for the students to experience.
The Foundation of Lee County Public Schools does so much for our community and teachers. They have a great supply room and they have done a great deal to help teachers in the area that were affected by the hurricane. The Foundation also goes out of its way to make teachers feel special through their Golden Apple Program. Teaching is a hard career these days, and the Foundation does all they can to help make it better.
The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools Inc has been an amazing resource for my classroom in so many ways. I have been able to create a class library over the years through their donations and gained several school supplies. Through their grant programs, I have been awarded a few different grants that have helped my students learn about the vocation of gardening, cooking skills and natural science skills. We have also been able to add flexible seating to our classroom through the grant program. Since Hurricane Ian, The Foundation has really helped many teachers in need through collecting clothing and other resources. I and so many educators are grateful for all they do!
I see the impact of this organization every day- through direct support to students in need, as well as recognition of the great work of our teachers. Dollars are administered on values-based strategy to support the District. Thank you Foundation for Lee County Public Schools!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a fantastic organization that always put the needs of teachers and students at the forefront of everything they do! They provide school supplies, classroom supplies, and many amazing opportunities for teachers to learn and become better educators. They also recognize outstanding teachers in their field every year through a program called Golden Apple. I have had the opportunity to attend the Collegium that is put on for teachers each year and was able to make some lifelong connections with other educators in our community. I was also provided with some of the most incredible learning opportunities through this week long collegium that I was able to take with me and implement in my classroom in order to improve my skills as an educator. I would not be the educator that I am today if it weren't for the continued support of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
The Foundation has been an enourmous asset to the students and teachers of Lee County. They are always there to assist and help to make the lives of them easier to transition depending on the circumstance.
I love that Mr. Bower & Mrs. Burke are always open to helping when I reach out to them as well as stop in for events that are done by the campus schools.
Thank you for all you do!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools truly has the best interests of the students at heart! Everything they plan and implement is centered around supporting our teachers and schools so that we have what we need to make learning fun! Student engagement is key to learning. The teaching profession is valued and appreciated through the Foundation. Thank you, the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools for believing in all of us who have chosen to serve our students and help to set them up for future success. We love you!
I am usually the donatee to organizations so it felt foreign to me to be on the receiving end. After two years of emails with information about The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, I finally made a quick trip there while waiting for my son's after school activity to end. I was pleasantly surprised how easily I found it and its convenient location. I didn't expect much. In fact I went in thinking just the basics would be there; crayons and markers. When I entered the building first I found a picture of my principle receiving his golden apple in the 1990's. I didn't expect that and it was nice to see! After continuing on into what I like to call "the room of requirement" I was able to find many things I didn't know would be available. First, I am a high school Art teacher currently working on a one point perspective city scape with my students. Our rulers were severely in need of replacement. Typically I would just go to the store and use my own money to just purchase what I or the students need. I cannot tell you the excitement I had when I found not only the exact rulers I needed but also the amount I needed. FOR FREE! I had also kept forgetting to buy three additional purple three prong folders for one of my classes after more students were added to my class mid-quarter. There were exactly three purple folders with prongs! I had the best day ever shopping at the foundation. It made my teaching week; it saved me time, money and sanity! Thank you for providing this to teachers, I am glad I finally utilized it and plan to more often in the future.
The foundation is a phenomenal supporter of Teachers and Students! The foundation has been a staple in Lee County and continues to work tirelessly to ensure that education thrives and is supported!
I am a Sanibel resident who teaches at The Sanibel School. I lost my home and vehicles due to Hurricane Ian. I found myself going to The Foundation to look through donated clothing items and classroom supplies as I am now rebuilding. The Foundation is a major support to teachers who are in need. A major thanks to The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools!!
As a teacher, I have received assistance from The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools on several occasions. They give out classroom grants every year, which helps teachers do amazing things in the classrooms. The Foundation organizes the yearly Golden Apple program that recognizes teachers who go above and beyond. In addition, the Foundation keeps a supply for teachers to come and "shop" from. I ran a used bookstore at my previous school and needed a constant supply of children's books. I was able to visit the Foundation whenever my shelves were low and stock up with a truckload of books. Thank you Foundation team!
The Foundation makes classroom supplies available to teachers. They also arrange with Chico's to sponsor a shopping event with special pricing for teachers which is so amazing and we are so thankful.
Childhood Cancer awareness.
This amazing organization sends books, blankets, overnight bag, and materials to help parents and children learn and deal with their cancer diagnosis. One the items we received was a stuffed cat and a play medical bag. This bag contained all the types of medical equipment a child would encounter during treatment.
Trafalgar Elementary has done fundraising for this event and if Lee county would like more information, I would love to assist.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is well run and organized. The communication flow is outstanding and they are always wanting to engage with the School District and community.
The Foundation generously supported my choir program after Hurricane Ian! Several students lost jobs and family support for our trip to sing at Carnegie Hall and with the Foundation's support, I was able to provide scholarships for those most in need!
Thank you!
They are always willing to help the school community in any way. Most recently after Hurricane Ian and regardless of their personal issues there staff assisted by giving out materials, furniture, clothing and food. They are an exceptional organization.
This foundation is OUTSTANDING! The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools works tirelessly ADVOCATING and SUPPORTING the teaching profession! They give teachers recognition for their efforts, when much of society overlooks or forgets how important teachers are to our society. Their Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program in particular is especially appreciated and enjoyed by all!
-Alexis Camputaro (2nd Grade Teacher)
This organization is truly wonderful! Every year they provide gently used books for teachers to use in their classroom library. They have a wide variety of teaching materials to supplement lessons, making learning easier for students.
they also have provided many different much needed supplies for those impacted by Hurricane Ian. So many in our community, students and teachers and staff alike have been effected by the devastation left by Hurricane Ian and this organization has done so much to help those in need.
Thank you for all that you do to support our community!
As an educator, mom and former student of Lee County, it has been a blessing to see this community organization step in and support our needs. My son has learned the meaning of community service as well as Empathy towards others. We have recieved guidance through grant assistance, student community service events as well as support with supplies as a teacher in the classroom. This organization puts community first in the heart of its members.
The only experience I have is that I made large donations to the organization last summer and the summer before. The staff was very appreciative and professional.
THe Foundation goes out of its way to support public education in Lee County. As an educator in the district I feel at ease knowing a great organization like this "has my back"!
I have been teaching in Lee County for many years. Throughout that time, I have always known that the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a resource that can not be replaced! There are so many wonderful programs that have directly impacted me as a teacher and my students as well. I have had the pleasure of participating in the incredible Golden Apple program which inspires me beyond words. I have utilized the Resource Center for materials to use with my students in my classroom (which in turn, saves money in my household budget). Oh, did I mention the incredible experiences and training opportunities that the Foundation provides? Not only do they provide unsurmountable support to the educators in Lee County, but they in turn provide wonderful opportunities for the students in our community. The sponsors, volunteers, and employees of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has a very special place in my heart. It always has and always will be very well respected by our educators and citizens of Lee County.
They have a huge amount of reference materials along with Supplies for our classrooms. What a huge help they have been over the years. Thank you for what you do!!!
I used to do the mentoring program through The Foundation and found them to be very well organized and encouraging to the mentors and mentees. They are also very communicative and engaged with the community. Definitely a nonprofit I would recommend that actually helps the students, teachers and educational community at large.
The foundation has been very supportive and helpful. They do such great things for out students and teachers.
I have gone to the foundation, when I am in need of supplies and books to use with my students. They are super friendly and helpful. They always have a great variety of supplies to choose from. When I left a special needs classroom and went to a different position, I donated my entire classroom worth of materials. They were so grateful and helpful with getting the materials out of my car.
What an amazing organization! They are constantly giving back to our educational community and do a fabulous job supporting and spotlighting our educators. The foundation is such a great resource and adds value to our community.
The foundation provides teachers and students with many opportunities that would not be available without funding provided by The Foundation. .
The Foundation for Lee County Schools is an instrumental piece of our community in Lee County. This amazing group recognizes outstanding educators, supports teachers through professional development and grant funding, and most importantly fosters an essential relationship with the schools and our business community.
The Foundation for Lee County Schools has had an ineffable impact on my role as a teacher. In addition to providing free supplies, resources, and fundraisers to support educators across our district, the Foundation's sponsorship of the Golden Apple program offers these educators a much-appreciated opportunity for recognition and validation. In humbly serving our teachers, the Foundation ultimately serves our most valuable asset: our youth. Their willingness to help and their generosity of spirit knows no bounds. I am forever grateful to Marshall and Bev for going above and beyond to empower our educators by working alongside our charitable community members to ensure that each and every child has the chance to achieve his or her potential.
I absolutely love the Foundation for Lee County Schools, I worked at one of the poorest schools in the district and they were there for us. Whether it was through grants or even through dancing classrooms, which opened up the world of the performing arts to a group of children who had never experienced any of it. They also helped enormously with grants and even their teacher resource center, which is stocked full of books for classroom libraries, staplers, notebook papers, kids scissors, and about a million other things that help teachers by NOT making it necessary for us to spend money out of pocket! Thank you to an amazing charity!!!!!!
The Foundation of Lee County Public Schools continues to go above and beyond for our administration, teachers, and students. They are there at the shortest of notice. Our school was in need of white binders. I reached out the Foundation and within a couple of days, we received binders. I also appreciate how helpful and supportive they have been through the hardships of Hurricane Ian. Thank you for your support!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a phenomenal program that gives so much back to the students in our area. My job is so much easier because of all of the assistance and programs that they incorporate into public education.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a terrific advocate for education and provides excellent programs for teachers and students. The Foundation has a significant impact on our growing community and the over 97,000 students in the public school district. It is a wonderful community asset!
This organization makes a difference in our Lee County public school system. The creation and support of programs that touch teachers and students in every school within the district! Programs that would not exist without the foundation's commitment.
I was happy to donate supplies for the recent back to school drive. My son benefitted from many contributions of the foundation throughout his 12 years in The Lee County Public School System. Thank you and I send best wishes for many more years of success!!
I would not be where I am today without the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. Marshall, Bev, and the rest of the staff at the Foundation go above and beyond to support teachers, students, and families in our area.
Through their scholarship endeavors, the Foundation is able to grow and cultivate future teachers by providing scholarships to high school seniors who wish to become teachers one day. You do not know what joy and pride look like until you see the face of a scholarship recipient as their name is read aloud; to say that you need a few tissues is an understatement. Last year, I was able to share in one of these Kleenex moments when one of my students received the Golden Futures Scholarship, which provided her with a four-year scholarship to attend college and become a teacher. Here entire family was on hand to celebrate her accomplishment and there was not a dry eye to be found in the room.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools changes lives for the better. The work they do will result in cultivating caring educators to serve our community for decades to come. When it comes to nonprofits, there is none more deserving of this award than The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
The Foundation for Lee County Schools has always been an innovator, and supports learning and community involvement at every turn! From their Classroom Grants program to their Resource Center, they support project based learning for students and equip teachers to dream big! They inspire teachers through the Golden Apple Award program, reminding us all that our community values us and recognizes our contributions. Whenever there is a need or an idea worth supporting, they are there and have all the connections to help make dreams into reality. We could not be more blessed to have Marshall Bower, Bev Burke, and the whole team cheering us on! We will continue to applaud and thank them.

They made so much possible and provided the opportunities for recognition and resources for my classroom that I so desperately needed. From supplies gathered from the Teacher Resource Center, to their Classroom Grants program, I was able to do much more with and give more opportunities to my students. Through the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition program, educators are given the recognition and acknowledgement for a job well done. Shining the light on these educators provides the opportunity for all educators to be recognized through the reflection of shared passions for teaching and a pursuit of excellence. Now, working in the education department of a NASA contractor in another area of Florida, I can see the distinction which singles out The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools as exemplary among its counterparts across the state. This organization helped me to grow in exponential ways.

The Foundation For Lee County Public Schools has made an indelible mark on my life and the lives of my students. Through their efforts and programs, I've been fortunate enough to receive funding for assistive technology, innovative programs to implement, and equipment that directly benefits students and makes my job easier. As an educator, the challenges and obstacles we face on a daily basis can often seem insurmountable but with the Foundation's Educational Resource Center, various supplies to help me do my job are available at no cost to me thanks to community partnerships and sponsorships. Through programs like The Golden Apple, teacher recognition is put into action, and educators are given the accolades and community support they so richly deserve. If it weren't for the Foundation, I would not still be in education and I'm forever grateful for ALL they do.
I have had the privilege of serving on the board of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools for the past 22 years. The Lee County community is blessed to have business owners and senior executives who serve on this board who truly understand that education is the key to our future economic vitality. The leadership and staff of the Foundation are dedicated to the mission of "Enhance, Enrich and Excel" in terms of student achievement and providing teachers with needed resources and recognition to do their job. This is evident in the eighteen programs that the Foundation supports on an annual basis.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is laser focused on their mission to enhance the quality of public education in Lee County and it shows in their tremendous impactful programs and the many positive outcomes we see with both students and teachers. Our company which is headquartered in Lee County is honored and proud to play a role in the many successful programs that the Foundation provides to students and teachers. We are truly blessed to have this wonderful partnership among students, teachers and local businesses.
My name is Joe Mallon and I run the Island Coast High School's Academy of Natural Resources.
We are a 4 year academically rigorous program with the focus on sustainability through Hydroponics, Aquaculture and Aquaponics.
We run a large farm taking as little from the environment as possible.
We have been successful in getting the word out of sustainability to our students but wanted to share basics of sustainability to ,our middle schools.
through a grant from the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools to build and provide mobile aquaponics systems to the middle schools in our zone.
My students went to the middle schools, set up the systems and taught the basics of sustainability to them,.
This project was a win, win, win endeavor. My students designed and built the systems, created lessons, and had the opportunity to teach, which is the best form of learning.
The middle school children learned about sustainability, but also how to care for live animals, germinate plants care for them and harvest. All science standards. Our program also benefited by getting students into our program with the prior knowledge to have them succeed in our school, but also great stewards of our environment!
I am a volunteer mentor with The Foundation For Lee County Schools and I have had nothing but extremely positive experiences with the organization. I love being a mentor for this organization and I love what they are doing to uplift and help students. I currently mentor two students and I believe both are excelling because of the organization. The support they offer the volunteers is excellent too. I feel it is a very well run organization with an excellent staff of caring people. I'm definitely proud to be affiliated with such a great group and I encourage anyone who is looking to make a difference in our community to also volunteer with the Foundation.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc. is a wonderful organization that is committed to bettering education in Lee County. It is an excellent resource for teachers to obtain much needed supplies and books for classrooms. As a Golden Apple recipient, I have seen how dedicated they are in supporting teachers, and education in general. Collegium is a week long professional development opportunity that is exceptional and provides invaluable information and networking with other teachers in the district. Scholarships, mentoring, donations, professional development... the list goes on. The staff is outstanding and truly dedicated to supporting education in Lee County. Thank you to the Foundation!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an amazing organization. They have transformed so many lives. I love being a part of such a great place. I've volunteered here as a mentor for many years, and I can truly say that they have the students' best interest at heart. Not only that, but they have very strong relationships with the community, teachers, school district, colleges/universities, and business community, and are always willing to go above and beyond to make sure the students in Lee County have an amazing experience.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an amazing organization. They made such a difference in the setup of my new classroom by providing much needed supplies, books, etc. for free! I was concerned about the cost of setting up my room, but the Foundation truly took the burden away.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc. is committed to bettering education in Lee County for all stakeholders through the various programs it supports. They build community partnerships to raise funds and supplies for teachers and students. As a recipient of the Golden Apple, I experienced their dedication to education first-hand through this recognition program. It was exciting for me to share my love of teaching with the community and shed such positive light on the profession, the district, and my students. The Foundation also supports future educators with college scholarships. This focus on teacher recruitment not only benefits the high school seniors who receive the scholarships, but it benefits many of Lee County's future students, as well. The individuals who operate The Foundation are selfless and dedicated to carrying out its mission.

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc. is a wonderful advocate for the importance of education within the community through teacher recognition programs such as The Golden Apple award and obtaining school supply donations so teachers do not have the burden of purchasing school supplies. Their support for education is a model that others should follow!
The Foundation has been a game changer for me as a teacher. Through the Golden Apple program, I was able to meet other teachers at various socials and I made lifelong friends through the Collegium training that the Foundation sponsors. The teachers that I was able to meet in the Golden Apple program have been an invaluable asset and they have totally invigorated my teaching. I can never thank the Foundation enough.
The Foundation is exceptional at connecting the community to thousands of teachers and students of Lee Schools. I have had students who received scholarships, mentoring and recognition when they otherwise would not have. The Foundation has changed the course and livelihood for those individuals in powerful ways.
I have never known a non-profit to be so strategic and purposeful. This Foundation works heart first to develop lifelong learners, establish powerful connections and bring opportunity to those who might not have it otherwise. The Foundation is at the core of my local community, making the difference.
Thank you to the Foundation for changing the world.
This is a wonderful NFP that gives deserving students tools they need to have a successful high school, college and professional career. The training they provide is top-notch, and the program so well thought out from beginning to end. I started off with one student, and now I'm on my 4th. A very rewarding volunteer experience.

My experience as a mentor for two students in the Foundation's Take Stock in Children and the STAMP programs has been overwhelmingly positive! My two students couldn't be more different, but so rewarding to work with. They are very aware of the benefit of the scholarship program and are intent in taking full advantage by attending college. They handle with grace the multiple demands of taking AP and Honors classes, while also participating in programs after school The support from the Foundation's staff has also been outstanding. Sheryl, the Mentor Coordinator, is accessible, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to the students' welfare. I find the program rewarding because I'm seeing the world in a new way from becoming close to my two high school students. I sing the program's high praise to all that express an interest in mentoring.

Thank you for your kind words, and for being a dedicated mentor to our students. It is people like you that make a huge difference in a students life and make my job as a mentor coordinator so rewarding. - Sheryl
The Foundation for Lee County Schools provides endless support for me and the over 10,000 employees, 90,000 students, their families and the community her in Lee County Florida. Some of the student centric activities of the Foundation’s work include: Take Stock in Children: a program offering college scholarships, caring volunteer mentors, and hope for a better life to low-income and at-risk students, many from minority families, to escape the cycle of poverty through education. Students join the program in middle school and are supported through their transition to college. Students who stay in the program receive a four-year scholarship. Student Advocacy and Mentoring Partnership: a program that pairs students with volunteer mentors to provide college and career planning resources and mentoring to give students extensive assistance, motivation and accountability to help ensure graduation. Scholarships: There are five other scholarships awarded to multiple students in each of the five categories each year, ranging from $1,000 to full four-year costs for attendance at a college or university. Kids TAG Art, in which elementary students design license plates which are judged, and the winners from each school are sent to the Lee County Tax Collector for production and sale to the public. The proceeds are returned to the schools to enhance art programs. Over 5,600 5th graders in 49 elementary schools may participate. College and Career Center for free workshops, mentoring, study places, tutoring, financial aid and college entry guidance, and support are offered students.
Another project the Foundation sponsors is the Classroom Grants program. By securing support from local business and securing grants from other sources, the Foundation makes Classroom grants of up to $500 for teachers to fund projects within their classroom. I have been fortunate to have been awarded a number of these grants over the years and have been able to enhance and enrich my students’ learning. I teach Criminal Justice, and with grants from the foundation have purchased law related novels for my students to study in the context of both law and English Language Arts. My students have studied The Ox-Bow Incident and Inherit the Wind. Their curriculum has been enhanced with The Supreme Court - Data Based Writing, a book which enables students to dissect landmark Supreme Court Cases in the context of principles of critical reading and writing. With another grant I was able to purchase 2-way radios which enabled me to teach students proper communication and team work techniques. Another year, the grant funded the purchase of American Heart Association workbooks so my students could learn and become certified in First Aid, CPR/AED. None of those learning experiences would have been possible for my students were it not for the Classroom Grant program of the Foundation for Lee County Schools.
One of my students who graduated last year and went on to college this fall sent me a nice message a few weeks ago. Sometimes students stay in touch after graduation, but this young woman’s message was of note. She told me, “Thank you for teaching me to write. College is hard, but you made it much easier, teaching me to write. She was referring to the essay she wrote when she read The Ox-Bow Incident, a book I obtained through the Foundation.
Those are among the many reasons the Foundation for Lee County Schools is a Five Star non-profit organization.
I have been an evaluator in their efforts to give high school students scholarships. It's a wonderful program.
As a Golden Apple teacher I have attended the well planned and orchestrated annual dinners.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools does amazing things for our schools and community! I have been in the Lee County School District for 33 years as both a teacher and currently an administrator. The professional development and positivity that they share so the teaching profession is held in high esteem is noticed and much appreciated. I could go on and on about the people who work tirelessly as a team under the leadership of Marshall Bower but it would take hours and hours. The Golden Apple Recognition Program, The Academy of Teachers, Take Stock in Children to name a few programs that they lead are quite impressive. They do these things so our students, teachers and administrators can continue to learn, lead and be successful. They are simply the BEST! :)
The staff at the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools works tirelessly to promote and support teachers and students in Lee County, Florida. One of their most influential programs is the Golden Apple award program. This program allows teachers the opportunity to showcase their talents and become influencers to all other educators in Lee County by innovating in their classrooms and putting students first when they plan and teach. New teachers even come aboard in Lee County with the dream of being awarded a Golden Apple! The Foundation hosts many such events throughout the year and is an inspiration to staff across the county!
As a community member, business partner, parent of a student in the district, and spouse of a district employee, I have seen firsthand the value and dedication that the Foundation of Lee County Public Schools has for our community and school district. They have created many opportunities and offered so much support for those in the area. They truly care and it shines through!

As a community member with both children in the local school district and teachers in the family, I am truly grateful for the amazing work The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools does in partnership with our school board to support the local youth and teachers. They go above and beyond the call of duty to do what they can when they can to not only fill in needs and provide support to the school district (staff and students alike), but to also honor and celebrate those in the roles of shaping the young minds of our future! It is always an honor for us when we can partner with this great organization on whatever scale, small as it may be, that we can!

We love our partnerships with the business community and are honored to help our educators and students in Lee County. Thank you for supporting our Foundation!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools INC does a fantastic job recognizing student achievement and helping to lift them up to reach their goals through scholarships and mentoring programs. The Foundation helps to identify and honor outstanding educators within our district and offers a summer training to furter develop their skills. Our school district would not be the same without this foundation and all they do for us.
The Foundation for Lee County School is nothing short of a spectacular organization. The lengths they go to to make sure the teachers of Lee County feel appreciated is unmatched. I am truly grateful for my experience with the foundation!
As a first year teacher, The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Educational Resource Center (ERC) was an incredible resource. They often had on hand things that I needed for my classroom, such as notebooks, binders, markers, file folders etc. It helped tremendously that I could check with the ERC, before I spent money out of pocket at a store. More often than not, I could even find items I didn't even go there for, like USB drives (to back up all those files I've created!!) or paint samples (they are so awesome for creating vocabulary games with!). The ERC has been a blessing and I know I will continue to use it for (hopefully) many years to come. Thank you to everyone who donates to this wonderful place!
My students have benefitted from the grant money offered by The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. These grants have greatly improved my ability to reach students. Today's students are continually evolving. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has enhanced the technology I am able to have my students experience.
We have also taken advantage of the myriad of materials available at their office. I have added books to my library and added organizational materials and basic supplies for my students. The Foundation has provided flash drives for my students to use to take files home from computers.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an organization dedicated to helping our students learn. Thank you.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has supported the concept that quality education should be available to all students in Lee County. And in this supposition, The Foundation has instituted strong programs to ensure that this happens. These programs run the gamut of helping low income, at-risk students to supporting students who need that extra push to achieve their goals. Education is the key to success whether it be college or technical training and the Foundation fills that goal. Having worked with the Foundation, I know personally their success stories and their importance in the community.
I have been working with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools in multiple capacities for many years. As an attraction we offered items to be used to raise money and in return the foundation gave us great exposure for the attraction. As a wife to an educator, i am proud every time the Foundation speaks on behalf of the amazing educator's and the incredible work they do. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a passionate advocate for educators. As a community volunteer, I have loved working with the foundation to provide unique STEM education opportunities to students in our county. Great job to the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools! You are an amazing asset to this community!
Excellent program for our school district. The entire Foundation from the professional staff to the board members to all the programs available are just top notch. All the resources are just amazing too. If the rating went to 10 stars they would get it.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an amazing non profit organization. They are great about getting into the community, spreading awareness and gaining the communities support. I am the marketing coordinator at Aubuchon Homes, and have worked directly alongside their Marketing director with the Back to School Supply Drive. Lets just say, I could'nt be more impressed with the dedication and hard work.
Keep up the great work!

marshall 08/10/2018
Aubuchon Homes is a great supporter of the Foundation! Your business helps us make a difference in the community.
I have had the honor and privilege to serve on the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools' Board of Directors representing the Lee Health System. This, by far, has been the most rewarding and dynamic opportunity I have had in my career outside of healthcare to participate in a not-for profit community organization that serves students, their families, educators, and educational support staff!
For me, it has been wonderful to give back to our community and educational system, and first hand, see the benefits the community receives from this amazing Foundation. Not only have I had the opportunity to work with so many other caring and compassionate businesses and organizations aligned with mission and vision of the Foundation, but to serve with the remarkable staff led by the Foundation’s President and CEO, Marshall Bower.
The Foundation's mission and vision is so critical to achieve in order to assist our students to succeed in all vocations and endeavors and be competitive in a global labor market. My organization, Lee Health System benefits currently and will benefit more in the future to have access to a well educated local student population to join its workforce.
I also have great pride in serving the school district and its publicly elected board of directors. Lee County is truly blessed to have an organization like the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools."

We appreciate all you do for us. The time and dedication you put into supporting the Foundation doesn't go unnoticed. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
There's not a harder working group of individuals than at the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. They truly care about the community they serve. They continuously look for ways to improve. What an important asset for the community!
Over the last four years, The Rotary Club of Fort Myers - Sunrise has had the honor of working collaboratively with The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc to raise money for the Take Stock in Children program. We have been to the inductions, and we have been to the graduations. We see first hand the difference the Foundation is making in the lives of our children and their families. They do their work with passion, love and respect. They are eliminating poverty - one child at a time.
In Rotary we live by a four-way test. Is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendship, is it beneficial to all concerned. We have found a partner in The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools that demonstrates a commitment to these same ideals.
Norman Lutz, President Elect
Rotary Club of Fort Myers - Sunrise

marshall 06/05/2018
Thank You Norm! The support the Foundation receives from the Rotary is greatly appreciated. We love working in partnership with the Rotary to provide scholarships through our Take Stock in Children program!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has been involved in my life since I was a child. Most of the events I remember from my childhood, benefitting teachers, students, and education as a whole, were put on by them and I only realized this later in life when my business became a partner. We partake in a multitude of their events including hosting an onsite visit from local high school students to tour the workplace, and hear directly from a small business, what it is like. As an entrepreneuer I think this is an invaluable experience, and through and through is well ran by the FLCPS. I know this is only one of the MANY events they orchestrate, but it is an example of one small piece of their work in all that they do for education. THANK YOU!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has been THE driving instrument behind our "Golden Futures" scholarship! Since 2013, we've taken one Lee County public high-school senior and awarded a FULL teaching scholarship to a local state college. Upon graduation, that emergent educator agrees to teach within Lee County for four years to "repay" the award. Teachers making teachers, per se. It's been been an incredibly rewarding experience, ALL thanks to The Foundation. Thank you for all that you do!
I have been fortunate enough to have experience with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools in more than one capacity.
I have acted as a mentor for their Take Stock In Children Scholarship Program since the 2013-2014 school year. I have mentored 3 students over those five school years and have enjoyed every second of it. The opportunity the scholarship and its mentoring program affords those students is second to none. The Foundation provides top notch tools and guidance for both mentors and mentees.
Additionally, I was honored to be nominated for a Golden Apple and received mention as a Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction. Seeing the overwhelming community support for teachers and what we do every day has been an incredible experience and one I feel truly fortunate to have been involved in. In addition to the awards banquet and title, I'm being given the opportunity to participate in the Collegium this summer at South Seas Plantation. This is an incredible week long professional development retreat that I feel truly honored to be able to participate in.
I have also been fortunate enough to shop the Resource Center and find some excellent resources for my classes. There is never enough money in education to cover every need, but The Foundation goes above and beyond the call of duty to do their part to ensure that the teachers and students of Lee County get every advantage it is in their power to provide.
I truly cannot express enough the important role The Foundation for Lee County Public School plays in our district and, at times, surrounding districts. My experience with them over the years has been amazing.
As a member of the Take Stock in Children Program under The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, I can honestly say that my experience with this nonprofit organization has been life-changing. When I was just a freshman in high school, I was selected for the scholarship program and I knew from that moment on my life was going to change for the better. I have always been pretty self motivated but this program has always giving me the extra push I needed in times of when I was just a freshman in high school, I was selected for the scholarship program and I knew from that moment on my life was going to change for the better. I have always been pretty self motivated, but this program has always giving me the extra push I needed in times of discouragement. I was given my first mentor ever when this program who has stuck by my side and had made sure that I have had everything that I have needed to be successful. The Foundation has provided me with endless resources, like workshops, to better myself and my skills to be equipped for the real world post highschool graduation. The Foundation has also made it possible for me to be the first one in my family to attend an University by assisting me financially, which I could never thank them enough for. I am truly grateful that I crossed paths with this organization.
The foundation for lee county public schools inc teamed up with the Red Sox to give a $5000 scholarship to several students. I was one of the lucky few to receive a scholarship from this foundation. Not only did they give us an amazing amount of money to help with schooling but also an amazing day of celebrating. All the scholars got to be mentioned while on the field and then got to have a lunch with the Red Sox executives. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. All members of this group were looking to give children great opportunities. One of the members, holly I believe, I got the pleasure to talk to. She was beyond informative and passionate to help students. We had a lovely long conversation and she inspired me greatly. Such a great and imparitive foundation for our community ♥️
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools were amazing, they came into my classroom and worked with all my students for multiple days covering financial literacy. I was highly impressed with the multiple guest speakers and how real they are with our students. I loved the activity they did when the students had to build a budget! It was eye opening for my student!!! Thank you for your beautiful generosity!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an amazing organization. I have experienced the wonderful work of this foundation as both a parent and a teacher. As a teacher I see the impact of the Take Stock in Children program to keep at risk kids on the right track. I also receive unparalleled support through their teacher supply "store" where teachers receive free classroom supplies and through their teacher grants funding innovative classroom projects. Teachers can even put in a specific request for materials and they will make it happen! Their Golden Apple program provides recognition of the fabulous teachers in our district and gives teachers the morale and appreciation they so deeply deserve. As a parent, I have enjoyed the support and help through the dancing classrooms program and scholarships the Foundation organizes. These programs only touch the surface of all that the Foundation does for the Lee County community and our children. Marshall Bower and his staff are amazing!
The Foundation for Lee County Schools has helped my classes every year since I've been teaching, whether it is school grants that fund teachers projects that can not be funded. Some of which had allowed us to purchase and use hydroponics systems. The knowlwge of these systems have allowed my program to share and build systems in other schools.
The Foundation help fund me to take aquaponic classes, which I have incorporated in my sustainability program and have taught other schools, community members and missions to set up systems in other countries.
Needles to say The Foundation of Lee County schools has to be one of the very best non profits around.
Sincerely,
Joe Mallon
Director of Island Coast High Schools Academy of Natural Resources
The foundation has been incredible in supporting Lee County teachers. They provided funding to take my 11th graders on a field trip in 2015 and my sixth graders on two field trips in 2016. They recognize excellence in teaching through their annual Golden Apple events and support improvement through the summer Collegium program.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is an absolute blessing. The Foundation has provided unfaltering support to not just the teachers of Lee County, but also to the over 87,000 students who attend schools within our district.
As a recipient of several Foundation Grants, I have been able to introduce my students, the youth and future of Lee County, to theater productions, museums and more. These are things that many of my students would have never otherwise had the opportunity to enjoy, and as a result not only did it serve to enrich their educational experience, but also their lives.
The Foundation also provides much needed student centered programs. Programs such as the A Team Challenge, College and Career Readiness, Dancing Classroom and Futuremakers are all aimed at ensuring that our children have every opportunity to explore, discover and receive guidance to reach their potential.
Finally, I would like to note that The Foundation works tirelessly to ensure that the teachers of Lee County are recognized through the Golden Apple Recognition Program. This is no small feat. It involves countless hours to organize, orchestrate and coordinate an event of this scope, and The Foundation manages to do it every time with grace and elegance.
Marshall Bower and his dynamic staff wore tirelessly to develop business partnerships that provide the necessary sponsorship to make this program, and all of the other programs they run, successful.
I honestly do not know what I would do without the support of The Foundation.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc is an exceptional group. They support and believe in our local teachers beyond any other foundation I've ever witnessed. They truly believe in our teachers. We are blessed to have Marshall Bower and his staff supporting our teachers and students.
I teach at a Title 1 high school in Lee County and my students, although they have the drive and the will to succeed, generally are missing the THINGS that most take for granted. I know I can always count on the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools to help me when I have a need. It's not only the school supplies (high school students are neither small nor cute but they have the same needs as elementary school kids. It's just harder to get help for them), they have been there for so much more!
The Take Stock program has taken students from poverty to college and beyond. There are so many kids who have had their lives changed with this program I can't even begin to count but oh, what a wonderful thing it is!
They were there when I was teaching an online class to kids without computers long before we went 1:1 with the Digital Divide program, there are many, many successful college kids who are still using their computer! Plus they donated a used laptop that went to a student who was graduating, she's using it at FSW...another success.
When my HOSA team was short on funds to go to state competition, they were there. Every single thing, every single time, every single child. They are the BEST.
The foundation for lee county public schools is the most positive and supportive group to the public school system. They make teachers feel like rock stars.
The amazing people at the Foundation have supported countless generations of students through providing free supplies and materials to all of Lee County. They also awarded me the honor of a lifetime, bestowing one of six Golden Apples upon me. As a result, I have attended top-down trainings that make me a better educator, providing my students with a higher level of education.i have also seen the Foundation transform lives through their Scholarship programs. One of my former students is set to become the first in his family to make it to, and graduate from, college; a dream impossible without the financial support of the Foundation.
It is not everyday that we Notice the Angels who walk amongst us. Spend a day at the Foundation and you will see a cornucopia of Angels, some with shinier halos than others.
My husband and I are mentoring two wonderful high school students. Both are very capable, but it is meaningful to them and to us to spend time together, discussing college options, jobs, talking with them about their subjects and grades, and helping by working with school counselors if needed. They know they have someone to come to with questions, concerns, and guidance. We have been able to discuss personal issues about family and friends, and have just been there to listen. Financially, this program is a huge help for both of them in terms of their educational futures. This opportunity is an amazing gift for us and we hope really beneficial for them. Sue and John Miller
I have had privilege of getting to work with the members of the Foundation for Lee County Schools. They truly have teachers best interest at heart and strive to help teachers with resources.
Nonprofits abound in the education field, but the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has a proven track record of improving the lives and kids and educators for decades now. The Foundation is staffed by a small group of people committed to our students in Lee County and the teachers that serve them, so despite their small size they develop innovative ways of making a positive impact, and do so tirelessly. Having participated in a variety of their programs and having had countless students take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Foundation, I can attest that the money that comes into the Foundation goes overwhelmingly to kids and teachers. Public schools need help from their communities, so that they can develop the future members of that community and Lee County Schools are no exception. That assistance isn't always forthcoming from official sources, so the work of the Foundation is absolutely critical in ensuring our schools are doing the best possible job in improving outcomes for kids in measurable and sustainable ways.
The Foundation does so much to support Lee County teachers! From the Golden Apple program and Collegium to the Teacher Resource Center, they have our backs all year long!
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools was very instrumental in serving as a liaison for me as President of the Lee County Foreign Language Association (LCFLA). The task was to present John De Mado, World Language motivational speaker and consultant, to the membership as we began a Reading in a World Language initiative. The Foundation assisted in our working with the Ft. Myers News-Press to secure their meeting room for our gathering. The presentation was an amazing success as John De Mado was spectacular and our initiative to emphasize reading a World Language proceeded without a blemish. The Foundation also runs a Golden Apple Teachers Program of which I have been a finalist for at least 5 different years and a Teacher of Distinction at least twice. This recognition has allowed me to take advantage of my recognized expertise by accepting an invitation to assist in the development of an International Student Academy at one of the new Lee County high schools. This invitation includes also working closely with their World Language Department. The Foundation has been instrumental in allowing me to create a very strong profile as a World Language Specialist in Lee County.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools does a great job both supporting and appreciating teachers. They regularly provide access to resources in the form of supplies and books at their Education Resource Center. Their Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program helps celebrate the amazing teachers we have in Lee County. Each year the Golden Apple Banquet provides a platform to not only celebrate the Golden Apple Award winners, but also celebrates the teaching profession. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools hosts a gala that truly celebrates our teachers.
This non-profit cares deeply about the education of our Lee County students and its teachers. I just spent one week of training in June and the Foundation for Lee County Public schools facilitated the training and took care of all of our needs during the week. The training was "Choosing Excellence" and research has shown that schools that faithfully implement these practices see positive results. I was honored to be asked to attend the training because I had been recognized as a teacher of distinction. The week was life-changing as we not only learning new strategies to use in our classrooms, but we were able to collaborate with other talented educators.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools also has a resource center where we can get supplies for our classrooms. This is a huge help for all of us but especially for new teachers. I appreciate all that the Foundation does for us and know they have out students in mind at all times.
The students at my high school are from a high-risk, poverty stricken community, so when the opportunity to apply for this Foundation grant became available, I jumped on it. Never having written a grant before, I took the plunge anyway - and The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools team gave me all the tools and support I needed. I was shocked when I won the award, and it is all due to the help this Foundation team members gave me. The team always responded promptly to my many emails/phone calls in a warm and helpful manner. It was such an honor to partner with The Foundation of Lee County Public Schools, and the students were enriched by the experience, both academically and personally. This nonprofit is outstanding as they strive to partner with the true needs of our community.
The Foundation for Lee County Schools is amazing and necessary! Their work with the Golden Apple Teacher program alone promotes positive feedback and commitment to improvement in education. They provide much needed supplies to the classrooms, scholarships to our students, continuous education to the teachers, and much more!
As President of the Teachers Association of Lee County and a member of the Board for the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, I am constantly amazed at the amount and quality of the work they do for our Lee Co. public schools. In discussing other local foundations with my colleagues across the state, I become increasingly grateful that our foundation seems to be head and shoulders above others.
One example is the work they did in helping us secure and manage a $250,000 grant from the National Education Association Foundation targeting "Closing the Achievement Gap". The Foundation's willingness to serve as the fiscal agent made this amazing opportunity possible.
I am proud to be a part of the Foundation Board and their phenomenal staff.
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a wonderful partner for businesses in Lee County who wish to contribute to the improvement of the School system in Lee County. They provide numerous programs which allows us to have in impact on the teachers and Students in Lee County Schools.
This is a wonderful charity that supports the Lee County Florida Public School District--- provding beneifts to teachers and children that go farbeyond what the School Board itselfcould provide. For the record I have been both a volunteer and amonetary donor to the organization. I am nor have not been in the past an employee, trustee, officer or director of the Foundation.
