The Foundation for Lee County Schools was an amazing blessing to me and my family.
I was fortunate enough to have been selected as one of the first Golden Apple Teachers in Lee County. The level of community, state and national support was amazing. A never seen before black tie evening was presented. There was a letter read from President Reagan, a video from the national education director and the Florida Commissioner of Education was there. It was a night I will never forget.
It helped in so many ways to enrich my career as a teacher. The Foundation provided me with activities and opportunities for professional growth beyond my wildest dreams. It made me truly see that others cared about the teaching profession in a profound and substantial way.
Many teachers, students, parents and community members have benefited greatly and continue to benefit from this wonderful organization. I will always be thankful, Ken Wright
