Mission: Proving new handmade blankets to children 0-18 who are ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of a sense of security. And provide a rewarding, fun service opportunity to the local community for the benefit of children. Blankets are collected locally and distributed within the county.
Results: Project Linus Washington County MD was formed in November 2024. As of February 2025, 35 blankets have been received and distributed to local hospital, DSS and privately due to a house fire.
Target demographics: Children 0-18 years of age.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Project Linus Washington County was just formed Nov. 2024. However, Project Linus nationwide has provided over 10M blankets to children since 1996.
Geographic areas served: Washington County-Proving new handmade blankets to children 0-18 who are ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of a sense of security. And provide a rewarding, fun service opportunity to the local community for the benefit of children.
Programs: Provide a sense of love, warmth and security for children in trying situations. As well as a service opportunity for other community members.
