CSNK2A1 Foundation was there exactly when we needed it, when our daughter was finally diagnosed with OCNDS after so many years of struggling to figure out not just what was causing her various developmental issues but more importantly, what could be done about it. This Foundation is working so hard to uncover the answers to all our families' questions as our impacted loved ones continue to grow and struggle to navigate this complicated world, and it's doing it with true passion, compassion, care and thoughtfulness toward the great variety of families it serves. From our first introduction to their work I've been impressed with the organization's leadership and scope of their ambition to make change; touched by their clear dedication to making us all feel welcome and heard, and grateful for their efforts to facilitate us finding hope and inspiration in each other.

I came across The Chelsea Hutchinson Foundation shortly after receiving our 8 year old daughter’s epilepsy diagnosis in February of this year while browsing the Epilepsy Foundation website for information about seizure alert dogs. I had reached out to them inquiring for information on how to determine if our daughter was a good candidate for a dog. Within hours, I already received a response back from Julie, whose story I had read about on their foundation website. I was truly surprised, and honored, to hear back so quickly, especially considering it was late in the evening. Julie was so helpful in providing information, links, reference materials and guidance they have historically provided related to dogs and then even went above and beyond to suggest other seizure monitoring devices we could consider. Only weeks later, we had our device in our home and it has given us such a peace of mind. They have imprinted our lives and I cannot wait to get more involved with this amazing org!

I am very grateful for their help, they always make me feel cared for, and go above and beyond to support me. Without their help, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have any hope in controlling my seizures.

Navigating life with a child who has a SYNGAP1-Related Disorder can feel overwhelming and isolating, but this organization has created a compassionate, connected community that reminds us we are not alone. Through CURE SYNGAP1, we have found not only emotional support but also meaningful, practical assistance. Their travel support has made it possible for our family to access specialized care that would otherwise be out of reach, ensuring our child receives the best possible medical attention. CURE SYNGAP1 is also working toward better treatments and, one day, a cure. As a volunteer, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the dedication, compassion, and tireless effort that drives this organization. It is more than a nonprofit—it is a lifeline for families like mine.

Set on a beautiful ranch in Agoura Hills, GHR offers a rare blend of hands-on vocational training, life and social skills development, fitness, creative expression, and rich community integration. What truly sets Golden Heart Ranch apart is its deeply caring staff and welcoming culture, where every individual is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. Families consistently describe GHR as a place where confidence blossoms, friendships form, and participants feel a true sense of belonging. The impact extends far beyond the Ranch, strengthening families and enriching the broader Los Angeles community.

As a professional who works with caregivers, it is a privilege to be able to serve alongside the leadership of the AHC Foundation. I am so thankful for their commitment to the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of the people caring for children who struggle with AHC. This is truly an amazing group of people.

Our grandson was just 2 when genetic testing revealed that he had Dravet Syndrome. My husband & I, both with scientific and medical backgrounds, went right into research mode. It was so overwhelming to learn our precious boy has a lifelong, condition with a future of serious seizures, intellectual disability, behavioral issues, sleep disturbances and developmental delays….with no current cure. But our internet searches ALSO pointed us to the DSF, which has been an essential life-line connecting us to families affected by this rare condition. DSF serves so many functions for us. The website is a multifaceted, vital resource. The leadership and management are dedicated, knowledgeable and compassionate. DSF ‘s phenomenal fund raising has targeted the most promising research and drug developments specific to DS. Their advocacy for DSF families is incredible. We have found both understanding friends and renewed hope in the incredible work DSF is doing.

The staff and leadership go above and beyond to ensure everyone is welcome and supported, and they're continually building on the community they've brought together. I'm honored to be part of all the good work they do for people with epilepsy.

If Dogs Could Talk, They’d All Be Saying “Thank You, Jeremy!”<br><br>It’s not every day you meet someone who seems born to communicate with dogs—but Jeremy Dulebohn? He could probably teach them to speak fluent English if they had the anatomy for it. Jeremy and his team at Dulebohn Service Dogs are nothing short of miracle workers with fur and four legs.<br><br>Jeremy trained our first service dog, and to this day we refer to that dog as the most amazing canine on the planet (and we say that knowing Lassie, Balto, and Toto are out there somewhere shaking their heads). Our second service dog—trained under Jeremy’s guidance—is amazing as well and he is currently training our third dog. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if our next dog starts doing taxes next April. That’s how well-trained and intuitive he is.<br><br>What makes Jeremy and his staff extraordinary isn’t just their skill—it’s their kindness, patience, and absolute consistency. They use positive reinforcement with such finesse that even the most distracted pup becomes a focused, confident partner. This non profit is well run and completely dedicated to helping these children with KCNT! Epilepsy. I have been involved with this foundation for over a year, and have only good this to say about the staff, leadership and their vission.

Add us to the list of people who were screwed over when trying to make donations. We are cleaning out our parents' house which is an hour away and had to make several trips back and forth to put the boxes of donations together and then back again to put the boxes outside of the house before the required time of 7am. Of course the driver never showed up or said they "did not see the donations" even though it was a driveway full of boxes, and now I have to drive an hour plus in traffic to go lug a bunch of boxes back into the garage and try to donate them elsewhere. I've donated something smaller from my home years ago and they picked it up but now when it really matters, they're a no show. Why offer this service if they're not going to actually pick anything up?

My daughter has an SMC1A mutation that wasn't properly diagnosed for 13 years. It's been wonderful being connected with other families that know exactly what we're going through and having that community behind us while we work towards finding a true treatment or hopefully a cure.

I cannot express with words for the gratitude I have for this great organization. My son has autism he needs a lot of help with speech he gets very frustrated due to his communication. The entire team at ACT4ME are so helpful and want to make a difference in the community. They absolutely jumped in and helped me with much needed services of speech for my son. He is 4 and has come along way. I am so eternally grateful for these amazing ladies who are my sons guardian angels. I thank you for the much needed help and support that you provide us. I hope that people can find this organization for support and trust because they are amazing. I also hope that people help the cause that they do because it is hard to find help for therapy and support that parents are desperately looking for , for their children. Thank you!!

As a recovering addict , I totally understand the stigma associated with epilepsy and other neurological disorders.Epilepsy international is doing great work by offering unparalleled support for epileptics and their families especially in my country,Kenya.We help the community understand the condition while working with people living with epilepsy to improve their self worth and have them live a meaningful life.<br>

It's a pleasure volunteering with everyone that wants to help others that have epilepsy. Everything is done whole heartedly.

The Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County has been there for me in my quest for seizure freedom. I really appreciate the experience and expertise they bring. The monthly meetings are very informative because I learn about the latest in epilepsy treatment. I worked at Canine Partners for Life (k94life.org) for a year and learned so much about how to provide a service dog to people with disabilities- the Right Way! My most memorable experience was meeting people at Team Training where Service Dogs and Recipients learn to work together for the first time. I learned it is all about the people. CPL Recipients are dynamic "go-getters" who overcome their circumstances to lead a more active and fulfilling life. Dog and Human become one team, and the stories of differently-abled people resonate with me. Some had very little to no family or friends to help them and have never taken public transportation nor have been to a baseball game. With their new canine partner they can do that and more - work, volunteer and simply get to the grocery store on their own. These amazing people ask for no sympathy or help- they live independently and happily ever after with the help of a well-trained service dog - provided free of charge and trained to the highest standards. I changed jobs but my heart stays with CPL and the important work they do.
