VOLUNTEER, DONOR Best Friends Animal Society is Heaven on Earth. I have been travelling there from Pennsylvania twice a year for 17+ years. Their passion, mission, dedication and devotion are unsurpassed. They follow through on their promises. They respect and love each and every animal that comes into their care. The caregivers are exceptional human beings. Extremely hard working - because they truly care, not because it's 'work'. The values of the people are pure and they have an incredible amount of knowledge of animals and rescues - and especially those whom they care for. The sanctuary is beautiful, peaceful, organized and well run. I cannot say enough about this place that has literally added one of the most important aspects to my life and my heart.

From 10 Volunteers to 160+ Lives Saved I’ve been with Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) since the beginning in 2022, and the growth has been incredible. What started with about 10 volunteers has grown into a network of more than 40 fosters and volunteers across the Rocky Mountain region. Together, we have rescued and rehomed over 160 dachshunds, each given a second chance at life. RMDR is 100% volunteer based and funded by donations and grants. Many of the dogs we take in come from difficult situations, including neglect, surrenders, and medical need. With that support, we provide veterinary care, safe foster homes, and time to heal. Every donation directly supports the rescue and care of dachshunds who need us most. I am proud to be part of RMDR and what we are building together.

I have been deeply impressed by my experience with this nonprofit, which has diligently raised funds for an inclusive playground for all abilities in our rural area, the Helper Express Inclusive Playground. Their commitment to ensuring equitable play opportunities is evident in every community meeting and outreach effort they organize. Through transparent governance and persistent advocacy, the organization has raised over $140,000 to date, enabling tangible progress toward accessible recreational spaces, which is remarkable in this rural area. Local families and stakeholders consistently commend the nonprofit’s professionalism and inclusive approach to project planning and execution. I wholeheartedly support Friends of the Helper Area's continued work to create a safe, welcoming play environment for children of all abilities in our community.

This group does a lot to help the community. They are based out of St. Anthony Catholic Church. They put wreaths on graves before Christmas. They help out with bingo. They have donated to various nonprofits to help with community projects. They cook a monthly breakfast and help with the Mama Mia Spaghetti Dinner. They also assist with the St. Anthony Carnival.

We have partnered with Mothers without Borders over the last four years and we have been impressed by the passion and love that they put into their work. Their ability to stretch your donation to maximize their reachin helping the most vulnerable children in Zambia is impressive. Their strategy and programs are making a significant impact on the lives of children and their families, delivering sustainable change that will last for generations. Their programs range from sustaining life, providing quality education, teaching life skills and values, helping launch young entrepreneurs with microloans and women's savings programs. I have been to Zambia multiple times and have witnessed their work firsthand. We are proud to be able to partner with those who lovingly create an alternative path for women and children who were destined to a life of extreme poverty.

I’ve been involved with Behind the Lava Lava for about six years now, and this organization continues to impress me in every way. Their annual Veterans Dinner is one of my favorite events—it’s heartfelt, beautifully organized, and a truly meaningful way to honor those who served. It’s become a wonderful addition to the veteran community. I’ve also attended their Food Truck Blowout and several other events, and every single one has been top‑notch. You can feel the passion and care behind everything they do. The people who run this nonprofit are amazing—genuine, dedicated, and always focused on giving back. I highly recommend supporting Behind the Lava Lava. It’s absolutely worth donating to, and you can trust that your contribution goes toward real, impactful work. They truly do amazing things!

Switchpoint in St. George is not a good place to work. The housing department manager is rarely in the office. She discriminates against individuals from the LGBTQ community, minorities and senior citizens. She did not train me to be successful at my previous position. I had to basically run around asking other coworkers for help and guidance in order to do my job. The housing department manager was rarely in the office to resolve issues. She was absent majority of days every week. The office is usually cold and the carpet is very dirty. The HDM will terminate you for no real reason. It's best to work for places like 5 counties where it's more diverse and helpful? The HDM gossiped about other women appearances, she is not professional at all. Please rethink your decision before working there because only a few people there were nice and respectful. The rest will back stab you and gossip and spread lies. The walls are so thin, you can literally hear everything being said.

I love reading CharityVision's stories and seeing how local doctors make an impact in the community! I've been a donor for 4 years, and I hope to continue helping fight blindness that a simple pair of glasses can fix.

Both of my boys have needed speech assistance from Kids Who Count, and their providers have had a hugely positive impact. They’ve been so knowledgeable, accommodating, helpful, and generous with their time and resources. My boys have adored them! My oldest graduated from their program a couple years ago, and his speech is at the level of his peers, if not even better honestly. My younger son is still in the program, although he’s making such quick progress that I imagine he will also graduate in the near future. We can’t recommend them enough!

I’ve supported Wildlife SOS for years and love what they do! They rescue elephants who spent their lives in chains, giving rides, or begging on the street and they bring them to the ECCC, where they finally get medical care and the freedom to just be elephants again. Seeing them heal and find joy is incredible. This team truly changes lives.

Some of the purest and most heartfelt care for an individual I'm aware of! The Inn Between is truly set up to care for an individual without bias or regard to that individual's background. Its focus is on the individual themselves and their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs, treating each person with respect and dignity. I've interacted with several of the team and they truly focus on these individuals by sharing of their time and being present, thus changing humanity for the better. With a simple visit to the facility, or navigating their website, one can sense that there is a true sense of community care among the team, volunteers, and residents of this facility. It is a special way of caring for those who are dealing with their own medical needs as well as life-limiting illnesses. If you were to look up the definition of the "true meaning of caring," it is defined as a feeling or showing care for, concern about, or attentiveness to other people's needs; compassionate; thoughtful; and that is what the The Inn Between is... The best resource I have discovered as a male survivor of sexual abuse. I have nothing but glowing things to say about their therapists, leadership, staff, and volunteers. <br> <br>I am so glad this organization exists. My relationships, anxiety, depression, and overall wellbeing is much stronger because of them. I hear from countless other men who have been through their programs that they quite literally would not be alive if it weren't for MenHealing and the community of support they found there.

I am a current Intern at Ouelessebougou Alliance, and what a pleasure it has been to serve with such a hardworking and dedicated staff. They give tireless hours to such a fantastic cause because they know their contributions are what sustains thousands of lives in the Ouelessebougou region of Mali, West Africa. The crafted health and education programs are sustainable and long-lasting, providing a future and helping raise them out of poverty. I have been so impressed by lead initiatives like the women's garden, well drilling, malaria prevention, disaster relief efforts, and literacy workshops. They are changing the future for those in Mali.

These amazing women have helped so many families in our community! <br>They have helped with acquiring furnishings to set up house, funds to get into a home, help with how to start the process of getting into a place to live, items needed for a new family, and many more things. <br>I will be forever grateful to them for all they do for this community.

When I first arrived at Kolob Canyon RTC and stepped into the Equine Program, I couldn’t have imagined the lasting impact it would have on me. I was eager to learn but scared to fully engage—uncertain of my own abilities and afraid of failure. Then I met Cove, a little mare whose fears and insecurities mirrored my own.<br><br>From the beginning, Cove was sensitive and defensive, panicking at the smallest movement. I quickly realized that in order to help her, I needed to focus on myself. She needed patience, trust, and consistency—and so did I. Training Cove became a reflection of my own journey. I learned to slow down, to communicate clearly, and to have confidence in my capacity to make progress. Growth wasn’t about perfection; it was about persistence.<br><br>One of the most powerful lessons I learned was that success isn’t about forcing change—it’s about building trust. There were days when even stepping toward the tie rail would send Cove into a panic, and I had to learn to meet her where she was, instead of where I wanted her to be. I began to apply this lesson to my own life, in my relationships, in school, and in my own healing. Because of Kolob Canyon RTC’s Equine Program through Reins of Change, I gained not only horsemanship skills but also the ability to navigate challenges with resilience and empathy.<br><br>Now, as a graduate of the program, I have the incredible opportunity to intern under the equine director. Every week, I see firsthand how this program changes lives—just like it changed mine. Watching other students find healing and confidence through horses reminds me why this work is so important.<br><br>Cove and I have come so far together. She’s now standing tied, working safely under saddle, and has entered her first horse show—something I never would have imagined when we first started. This program gave me more than I ever could have hoped for. It gave me purpose, direction, and a passion that I will carry with me forever.<br><br>If you’re considering supporting Reins of Change, know that your contribution goes beyond just the horses. As an eight-year volunteer for First Tee and now over 10 years of coaching with them, I can tell you the impact that we have as coaches is immense. We are teaching children that FAIL is our First Attempt In Learning, be confident in who you are, show respect for others and ourselves, how to use good judgment in decision-making and collaborating with others. My son has XYY Syndrome, which causes some learning disabilities and behavioral issues. I utilize a Parent Consultant from the Utah Parent Center at all of his IEP meetings. She helps me navigate the complex systems of disability including special education. She has helped me feel supported, knowledgeable, and prepared to help my son be successful. All of the staff and their workshops are amazing as well!

My father, may he rest in peace, is the one on the very top in this photo. I am so proud of him and the service he gave while in the military. I wish he would have been fortunate enough to have had a service dog but it was not meant to be for him. However, Canines with a Cause has done and is doing incredible work for our veterans. The team behind the scenes from the trainers and staff, to those who we don’t see in public. The kindness, respect, compassion and commitment is inspiring. I am grateful, as the daughter of a veteran to see the wonderful work and service they provide and my hope is that this organization continues in the years ahead.<br>THANK YOU!!

Each session offered hands-on activities that encouraged critical thinking and creativity. Our Mission: Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. We are investing in Dreams.<br><br>Soroptimist International of Ogden, UT (SIO) was chartered on 27 May 1939 by Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA), a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Since 1921, SIA has grown to about 1,300 clubs in 21 countries and territories throughout the world. We have been recognized as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) with a permanent seat at the United Nations.<br><br>The SIO service area is women living in Cache, Box Elder, Weber, Morgan and northern Davis counties. Our focus is helping women achieve economic empowerment through education. We have given the Live Your Dream Award since 1972, to more than one hundred women for well over $80,000. We will continue to give the award annually as it is the major element of our organization's Dream Program. We are recognized by SIA for outstanding management of our program. In our 80th year, we received the Mattie Wattis Harris Rose Award for Volunteer Organizations from Your Community Connection and we were honored by the Ogden City Council in 2019 for continued excellence in supporting the residents of Ogden, Utah.<br>

We have been supporting Be Humanitarian for a few years, but recently were able to join Tobie on a humanitarian trip down to Guatemala. It was amazing! We brought our 3 teenage boys with us, not knowing if they would “appreciate” this family vacation. They all had an awesome and life-altering experience!!! The time and effort that Tobie and her leaders have put in, in order to maximize the impact of each dollar donated is very evident. You can instantly tell that Tobie and her organization is dedicated to the people in Guatemala. Any thing we did, anywhere we ate, anyone we helped — they were all in need and truly appreciated our time and our visit. It was heart-warming to see the light in the eyes of the children as they played with us “gringos”. <br>We are so pleased with how our donated dollars were spent and the large number of lives that get and will continue feel its impact for years to come. Tobie has been very thoughtful and deliberate in her approach on how to create a lasting impact in the lives of theses people - teaching them life skills, enhancing their way of life for their children, and helping them to LEARN from each other as they become self-reliant. <br>In a world where many people are all about themselves . . . Tobie and Be Humanitarian are all about lifting those that need it. The Fullmer Legacy Foundation is an excellent foundation to support. It sponsors young people of all nationalities and genders in amatuer boxing. This program works with a large majority of “at risk “ youth in teaching and mentoring quality life skills such as: self esteem, discipline, good work ethics, nutrition, sportsmanship and citizenship. They are in the process of constructing a new 16,500 sq ft facility to expand their programs. All of the people involved are 100% volunteers. I would highly recommend this nonprofit if you are looking for a place where your donation will be wholly utilized for the supporting these young people.

It is such a pleasure to see this non-profit thriving, delivering its mission, so many years later after having a vision of what ACE could be. I had an idea & with several others we began it in 1997. To see this grass roots organization expand, develop & evolve into becoming what it has become today is a proud feeling and brings a smile to my face. Living in a neighboring state now, I continue to marvel at the amount of affordable programming, dedicated work and enjoyment that is brought to the community because of it. It's definitely a crossroad of interactions helping the community to interact & know one another. The team (E.D., Board members, staff) running it, are beyond awesome.

I wrote a long review of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints about 10 years ago. A decade later, I can only say that they keep on serving. Absolutely amazing involvement. GreatNonprofits asked me to update my review since the last one in 2024: In the last year, we were involved in relief efforts in Asia again, especially in the Philippines (numerous earthquakes and typhoons) and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was always right there. Support from their global supply system was wonderful, and their local members are always among the first on scene. They have almost a million members in the Philippines, I was told) out in the mud cleaning up and proving care. Whatever needs to be done, they just dig in - and they are happy! I do a lot of volunteer work with Saprea in various capacities, as well as donated monetarily when I've had the opportunity and means to do so. It may not be much, but every bit makes a difference. I personally know several survivors who have attended the Haven Retreat and have been aided in their journey towards healing from the effects of childhood sexual abuse. I have heard from many people how life changing this was for them. What I have done as a volunteer is simple and easy yet has a profound effect on those who have benefitted from the services that Saprea offers.<br><br>I have made posts on social media about Saprea. I personally know of at least three women who have attended the Haven Retreat because they or a family member saw those posts and learned about what Saprea has to offer. They have thanked me for sharing and told me of how life changing it was, and they have since told other people about it. I will never stop fighting to help end eradicate the world of childhood sexual abuse. I was abused in other ways in a relationship and Saprea gave me one of their "Reclaim Hope" books so that I could use the steps in it to help in my own healing journey.<br><br>A bonus daughter of mine and a friend's daughter were affected by childhood sexual abuse, as well. I have shared information about Saprea with them or their family members. I pray that one day these girls will be ready and able to attend the Haven Retreat or utilize other resources that Saprea has to offer in their healing journey when they are ready for that step in their lives.
