Send someone to pretend to be homeless there. Staff are so unprofessional.They are not helpful.They are helping themselves. Icame in there with nothing no hygiene and I stared at a closet full of clothes and I asked may I have something to sleep in and 1 job interview outfit,panties,bra. I was told no. After my shower @10pm THEN I was given a size 18 pair of panties. Im a size 10. I was given a t shirt and scrubs and nothing else. I came in Friday. I left Saturday.A lady who is a resident but works there she was off the clock flipped lights on at 6:30am screaming get to the table and sign the paper over and over again.THE STAFF EATS ALL OUR DONATIONS IN FRONT OF US. NEVER PUT A SNACK OUT. I WAS NOTHING BUT YELLED AT. DRILL SERGEANTS. MS.STEPHANIE GRABBED A 70 ELDERLY CLIENT&LEFT HANDPRINT BRUISE, THE STAFF IS NEVER CORDOUL ONLY YELLING. 3 left in 3 hours. We were yelled at and told if we leave they already got paid for us and someone else will fill our spot. Basically they don't care

As a first-year student, I am deeply grateful to NED Scholars and its Head, Sir Muhammad Sohail Ahmed, for their invaluable support. In times of extreme cold, their emergency shelter and warming station become a lifesaving refuge, ensuring no one is left out in dangerous weather conditions. The JEQ Foundation scholarship has been a pivotal factor in my academic journey. By covering my tuition and residential fees, they have alleviated a significant financial burden, allowing me to focus on my studies and extracurricular activities without undue stress. I was honored to volunteer as Case Coordinator with MHC. Getting to witness the 'behind the scenes' operations showed me just how genuine and relentless this team is about helping military families. The huge highlight for me was working alongside Heather and Blair assisting military families with their housing needs. They were incredible mentors who truly lead by example. It was a privilege to play a part in helping families find safety and support. If you are looking for a nonprofit that operates with integrity and heart, this is it.

I’m a military veteran, and after my service, the hardest challenges I faced were not overseas but in everyday life. Crowded spaces, loud noises, and sudden sensory input made it difficult to feel safe or enjoy time with my family. For a long time, I avoided public events altogether. KultureCity changed that. Because of KultureCity, I’ve been able to attend events I once avoided entirely. The sensory friendly training, clear signage, and understanding staff did not just make spaces accessible. Hi! My name is Olivia Thompson; I am 24 with 2 children and currently experiencing my 3rd child. I am currently working part-time and enrolled full-time online with the University of Phoenix to become a teacher. From the time of my intake in July 2025, my experience with the Presbyterian Home for Children has been nothing short of a blessing. All of the staff, residents, and volunteers are amazing. The staff have helped me with finding scholarships for me to continue my education, helped me develop a plan for when I leave the program, helped me find as many resources as possible to help me, and have helped with transportation or anything else myself or my kids have needed. My oldest son, Adrian, has been able to attend the private school they offer, and he has been thriving and absolutely loves his teachers there. Without the Presbyterian Home for Children, I honestly have no idea where I would be today.

I was an employee for The Haven 8 years for me that’s a long I was trying to go for 10 years but the work just got to me. Working for The Haven for those years I would trade anything for the world. I didn’t know what to expect, but I gain a lot of confidence and respect from this amazing nonprofit organization. They have placed alot of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens during my time there. With each animal that I helped take care of they got to be placed and they found their forever homes. The Haven helps and care for these animals, even if an animal comes in badly the crew always knows what to do right on the spot. I will tell one experience that I had that I will never forget. We had 1 dog that was pregnant about to give birth. Later that night something told me to go up there but I didn’t listen. That morning I came into 3 pups that were alive and 7 lifeless pups. My heart sunk as I laid the 7 pups together. I hope your hearts go out to the Haven and support their mission.

They are identical twins, both are funny and personable. They use commedy in the school to connect with students then have a Pizza Blast mid week to engage offsite in sharing a most important message about salvation and eternity. A great event that leads to many decisions and an abundant life. Could not recommend more.

I have been a volunteer at the Prodisee Pantry for almost 10 years now. The Pantry helps so many people and it's very satisfying to know I am helping someone in need. One of my most memorable moments was during an event at the Pantry where local businesses where there for a Chamber of Commerce reception. I was doing tours of the warehouse and during one tour, a lady told me that while she was there with the company she worked for, she was also a client of the Pantry. She shared that while both she and her husband both had jobs, they had a special needs child that required a lot of care and expenses. They were having trouble making ends meet and the Prodisee Pantry was providing them with necessary food to keep them going and she was very grateful.

A wonderful organization to volunteer with. They care about the community and the women they serve.

I stood side by side with the CEO of Noble Works Thrift Store, packing boxes of food, essentials and clothing to give to tornado, hurricane and fire victims. The Ceo talked to the victims about the lord, their needs, and prayed with them. Gave them hot meals, warm clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights, shoes, coats and hope. We need more people like her to help those whom can't help themselves or having a crisis of their own. Many people fall so far down and can't see a way back. She gives them encouragement, self esteem and a future to look forward to. This is a wonderful nonprofit and ministry. Mrs Barnett

Right from the start, I contacted PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST, the representative answered all my questions, and explained everything to me. I decided to go with the 14-days program, and it hasn't been up to 7 days yet, and already two collections have been removed. The entire staff has been very helpful, kind, and efficient. I was very skeptical, asked lots of questions, and they were very quick to respond no matter what time or day, I have questions or concerns. I am very happy with the progress they are making with repairing my credit. I highly recommend Pinnacle Credit Specialist, they are no nonsense, quality driven, and they get results really quick. This is a legit company, they do not make empty promises, and they back up what they say they are going to do. Thank you, I really appreciate it.

We are so beyond grateful for finding this rescue. Our puppy Clover has brought so much love and joy into our home. No Greater Love is a rescue that I would highly recommend to anyone. The communication has been amazing from speaking with Charlene to our puppy’s foster mom and Gill who took our baby to us. We cant thank them enough..the absolute best!!

We looped in with Alabama Veterans in 2020 and began attending their annual Veterans Gala. The dinner, dancing, silent auction and guest speaker are top-notch! This fundraiser event is one of our annual outings we love to attend, knowing our donations are filtering back into the lives of those who sacrificed for our freedoms.

We had a much needed stress free get away all thanks to WWFS. It was amazing to get the chance to really connect as a family.

We are sick and tired of all the mailings. We have received easily 20 mailings in the past four months, 10 in December alone. Such a waste of money and resources. Seldom a week goes by without our receiving at least one fund raising mailing. <br><br>Be clear. We have donated before, and support your work but your fund raising techniques need modification. We will not donate again until they do.

It is with genuine regret that I’m writing this, but I feel that the best thing for all involved, animals and people alike is for VAAR to shut its doors. Everything said in this review is from personal experience and nothing is included that I’m not certain about. There were repeated and consistent issues of staff treatment, derogatory comments about the local people, and at times aggressive behavior towards the animals. <br><br> There is a constant shift between acting as a victim or as a hero and pulling down everyone else with their words in the process. There seemed to be a different repeated criticism for every staff member, until the critique didn’t fit the particular situation and then a contradictory critique would be used, ie they have no experience would be turned into ‘I was told they had experience and so they’re to blame for ‘insert situation’. Constant tearing down of ex-staff down to the current staff, nothing was due to her flaws but down to staff age, inexperience, toxicity, immaturity. It left staff very on edge whenever she was around. There is an extremely high staff turnover rate which is detrimental to any rescue, but unfortunately is something that is happening over and over due to treatment of staff from the founder. If you are a follower of the social media accounts you will have seen this firsthand; jobs advertisements every 3 months or so consistently. This should not be the case in an organization with so few animals, and so the high staff turnover should be very telling. Many people are under stress and suffering mentally whilst running a rescue, but the physically aggressive moods where she would shout at the animals at times, or at staff is not acceptable. I believe she cared for the animals but I think the line between their best interests and hers is murky at best. If she wanted to she would chase the animals for affection and force embraces on them even if they clearly did not want that. Scruffing animals at times for deworming when a gentle approach would work on the given animal just as well. <br><br>She would lay guilt trips on staff about her own life decisions. Everyone that went there was losing money to care for these animals and most very reluctantly handed in their notices, but yet most of them did. Such issues were so recurring that onsite the founder would tell you that the current staff are the only staff to ever have these issues or complain, yet when you spoke to previous staff they will tell you almost identical stories. I do not wish for anymore people to uproot themselves for this organization, it is something we all ultimately regret to some level and sadly some people have been quite emotionally scarred from their experience. I don’t feel that all the negative happenings there are a conscious decision from the founder, but I also don’t believe anything is going to change for the better, and so I believe it is in the best interests of all, the founder included, for this organization to close its doors and the animals be placed in more suitable sanctuaries or homes.

Adopted the most beautiful female German Shepard one year ago. The staff at the Shelby County Shelter were amazing! It was so simple to adopt our dog, Heidi.

I have been associated with this great organization for many years, mainly as a donor and a participant at their fund raisers. Several years ago we moved to a rural part of Mobile county and I became aware of the tragedy of abandoned animals. I don’t know how many dogs I have picked up on my road alone and if it wasn’t for the Mobile SPCA I don’t know what I would have done. They always graciously take in whatever I find. I know that these animals are lovingly taken care of and find good homes. The staff and the volunteers do such an excellent job of taking care of all the animals and also work hard trying to raise funds to continue their efforts since they receive no federal or local government funding. This is a hard working, dedicated group of people who provide much needed services to our community. Please help them in their mission to help God’s creatures.

Phi Eta Sigma played a huge role on my college experience by giving me leadership and service opportunities throughout my time. These experiences helped me win one of the Phi Eta Sigma scholarships that paid for a lot of my master's degree. I love Phi Eta Sigma and encourage students to join!
