I donate to Paso Pacifico because you can see exactly how the donations impact their conservation initiatives! It’s amazing to see how a small organization in Southern California is able to influence the ecosystem of a rainforest, the ocean, and animals 4,000 miles away!

I have volunteered with CARL for 17 years now. I have seen CARL continue to pull dogs from high kill shelters continuously and do more than their part in saving the lives of hundreds of adoptable dogs. CARL is Ventura County’s largest Rescue that also take in homeless dogs from other Rescues that need a place for them to be sheltered and fed.

And now of course, with the very public "outing" of what this so called charity is really about we should also question the veracity of those supporters self identified as supporters of Cars 4 Causes and also as working in the non profit industry as well. I have seen their 990... It is obvious that they have been lining their own pockets for some time now. A car donation, a boat donation would be better off in the hands of any charity that did not do business with these people.<br>The list of charities not to donate to can easily be found on their website. And add to that any charity that spends charitable dollars on pay-per-click or "sponsored" ads or search results on the Internet. There is no greater misuse of charitable dollars...

Greyfoot Cat Rescue is the best cat rescue and adoption organization that I've ever come across. Because the cats are all fostered, their personalities and needs can be described to potential adopters so that a good match is made for the cat(s) and the adoptive families. Greyfoot is dedicated to providing rescue cats and kittens with good, safe lifelong homes.

The Health Care Foundation for Ventura County is a trusted partner in serving our community. Amy, her staff and Board go above and beyond to partner and leverage resources to the maximum extent possible. Recently she matched a donor interest in a particular area with an equipment need in Ambulatory Care Clinics. We are grateful for their partnership and support.

SPAN (Spay & Neuter Animal Network) is a terrific thrift store in the City of Ventura, CA. This all volunteer thrift store receives all it's working capital by the donations of both money & items that are sold at the store. SPAN uses it's money to sponsor monthly mobile clinics within Ventura County, usually 4 a month. This gives pet owners an easy access to get their cats & dogs spayed/neuter at a very low cost to them. Also, SPAN subsidizes spay & neuter of pets for low & no income pet owners through their collaboration with the local veterinarians in the area. The well organized store has many treasures that can be purchased at great prices, including clothes, home goods & pet items.

Adventures in Consciousness offers a range of tools, both spiritual and practical, free to the public through their website. These tools—for both adults and children—are simple, yet remarkably effective in achieving genuine change by getting rid of negative feelings, such as anger and anxiety, as well as negative patterns of behavior, such as smoking and drug use. The light meditation and SLT have changed the quality of my life tremendously. These are wonderful gifts available to anyone who wants them.

Feel like I have been well-supported in this first effort as an English tutor. The teaching materials provided at no cost to teachers or students are first rate. My student is very motivated and my time with him seems well spent for both of us. This is a good place to go if you wish to make a positive difference in our community.

Took my wife and granddaughter on the Diabetes Outdoors sponsored trip in the channel islands passage on the Island Packers ship. We saw humpback whales and got a lot of great pictures. We also saw gray whales but they were too far in the distance to photograph. Lars and Trevelin Yahr were great hosts to our group and we really appreciate their efforts to promote healthy outdoors activities for diabetics.

this non profit is a scam they use men and exploited them for there personal gain which is for the pastor and the man who runs the taco truck . they hire and there whole family. there in no way help or are licensed to help these men but have them work and take all there money and its true from the comment above they take there food stamps while they buy for there own homes. they make the men go collect food from food banks. the use god and the church to hide behind there agenda which is to live off these men. pastor and paul will use god to gain for there personal lives

I separated from my husband and suddenly found myself single with two children. I was faced with the choice to take on additional hours at work which would help me short term, or to start school which would help me long term. I decided to go back to school, but was worried. The cost of school would directly take away from my ability to provide for my children. I started anyway and just hoped everything would work out. I studied hard because I was determined to succeed. I applied for a scholarship and I received one!!! Receiving the scholarship was absolutely critical in my ability to attend school. Beyond the scholarship, the Foundation and their donors made me feel like they believed in me. By being chosen as a scholarship recipient, they were saying they support me in helping me reach my academic goals for myself and my children. Receiving a scholarship was a monumental occasion - had I not received the scholarship, I wonder if I would even have been able to start the next semester. I will forever be grateful.

The mission is solid and the results are amazing. they truly accomplish a great deal in helping students find their inner confidence, strength, talents, and drive to not only pursue higher education but thrive when they go to colleges and universities across the country. I went through it when I was in tenth grade and it changed my life for the better and I give back every year to make sure more students have the same great experience I had some time ago. I love this organization and hope that others soon experience it for themselves.

I am constantly impressed with how much the CEDC team does to support residents and their efforts to create internal and locate external supports for residents. They truly care about creating opportunities for resident to build a better life for themselves.

Our organization, Friends of Fieldworkers, was blessed to have A Voice Discovered bring new life and understanding/speech production to one of the children of our fieldworker families. His mom sent me a photo of him at the annual Christmas party and it made me cry. Having known little D.G. since he was a baby, I have watched this family lovingly care for their son. The testing, support and gift of the Touch Chat device (computer/tablet) is changing the life of the entire family. Thank you, Traci Peplinski and team!

DEALT WITH THE DIVORCE LOSING EVERYTHING INCLUDING MY CAR (ATTORNEYS COST MONEY) Could not afford attorney so lost by default. AFTER LOSING MY CAR LOST MY JOB WHICH MEANS LOST MY HOME. <br>So now lets go back to the part of losing my job due to no transportation. My credit by this time had become useless. So I went to Catholic Charities (which offered me a meal) this is nice, went to Salvation Army was offered food, this again is nice, do you see a pattern here yet? Went to Community Presbyterian to fill out a request for transportation for work ( you see you have to have open availability for work ), well needless to say never heard back from them. The pattern you see is not to help those get out of their situation but to keep them there with here is a meal (yes again nice gesture) what about self sufficiency or the willingness to work are we to be destined to be part of a street culture, is this really where you want your donated dollars to go? I need a car to get to work and not be part of a culture you donations actually go to. So if by chance there is some one willing to give me this opportunity I will pay out of each pay check to you for this opportunity!! Not asking for charity but the opportunity to get on my feet!! What a delight and great find! Green Art People, located in Ventura, fosters creativity in the community through art, music, and conservation. Every Wednesday local musicians provide a concert for the community. Last Wednesday, sitting close to the musicians, we felt like we were on stage with the performers. Free concert! We added to the mural that was being painted by the audience members and enjoyed watching the kids construct creations with industrial scraps. Don't miss this great nonprofit.

This has to be the smallest gift shop I've ever seen - yet they manage to have a wider variety of items than much larger shops. The staff are friendly, helpful, and caring!

I have had the pleasure of witnessing David, Faith and their entire team grow this worthwhile venture since 2000. In that time I have seen them bring families together and provide a myriad of meaningful services to foster and adoptive youth in addition to others who fall within our growing definition of "family". <br> <br>If you are on this site because you are looking to make a meaningful difference and are researching organizations to contribute to, whether it be financial, volunteer or stewardship - I highly recommend Kids and Families Together!

Dr. Chris Landon and his staff assist many families with children who need medical care. All receive excellent care. Many of the children are extremely ill and receive specialist care from doctors who visit from tertiary medical centers in Los Angeles. The doctors travel so the sick children and their families do not. The center also serves insured families. The care is excellent so many families are drawn to Landon Pediatric Center, not because of need, but because of the care.
