Took my wife and granddaughter on the Diabetes Outdoors sponsored trip in the channel islands passage on the Island Packers ship. We saw humpback whales and got a lot of great pictures. Diabetes Outdoors is a local group started by a local family in Ventura CA. The group organizes different social, outdoor events to bring together families who are affected by diabetes and raise awareness that diabetics can do most anything anyone else does! this is a wonderful group dedicated to getting kids with diabetes and their families together and active. my family's been on hikes and as a parent, I've had to opportunity for parent meetups which are an amazing help when dealing with a very isolating disease... more »
