Public Art Reston is what makes Reston such a unique and amazing place to live in. I joined the STEAM team last year, a club at South Lakes high school that teams ups with Public Art Reston to create public sculptures. This organization allows students in our community to get real world experiences that prepares them for careers in design, architecture, engineering, public relations, marketing, and more. STEAM has been a critical part in my high school life, and I can't imagine this community without the beautiful art projects that Public Art Reston provides!

I just recently finished volunteering as a marketing intern for fellowship square. As a college student, I was looking for an opportunity to gain marketing experience. What I found was that and more. While doing work to help increase Fellowship Square's visibility and outreach, I got to learn more about the mission of the organization- to provide older adults with affordable housing. With the current housing crisis making affordable housing more and more difficult to obtain, Fellowship Square exists to bridge this gap. As an intern, I got to see this generosity up close through Fellowship Square's kind staff, amazing programs, and impressive facilities. Overall, I am so grateful I got the opportunity to contribute to an organization like fellowship square, one that is making change in the world. Volunteering for them was a wonderful experience.

I have never had anything to do with this charity - they clearly bought my address from somewhere. I've been inundated with crap, junk, stickers etc etc. They send me so much mail it's unbelievable. I've tried to unsubscribe and it hasn't worked. They just keep bombarding me with more and more paper that just goes to the recycling bin. They seriously need to reconsider their strategy, it's hard to believe that there's any money left over to actually go towards wildlife. I do not recomend them at all.

I am the Executive Director of Women’s Money Matters, a nonprofit in MA supporting women living on low-incomes with financial wellness workshops and 1:1 coaching. We are beyond excited to partner with Neighborshare to be able to offer financial support to the women in our programs. We see all the time in our financial wellness programs for low-income women how much an unexpected expense can derail a spending plan and cause women to go into a debt spiral. Neighborshare is addressing such an important need and, through our partnership, Women’s Money Matters is so happy to be able to help facilitate immediate financial relief to both current and past participants during challenging times to assist with emergency car payments, medical bills, rent, support leaving an abusive relationship, and more.

Global Camps Africa creates extraordinary impact with its donor's dollars. For a relatively small investment, Global Camps Africa provides year-round programming that reaches HIV-affected children and youth in some of the most resource-limited communities in South Africa. Through its residential and day camp programs, its in-person and virtual youth clubs, and its targeted programs for young women's empowerment, early learning, and financial literacy and entrepreneurship, this organization is teaching life skills that are empowering South Africa's youth to lead healthy, productive lives and make a positive difference in their own communities!

Upon arriving and meeting Brenda, Ivana, Jane, and the rest of the staff, the welcome was amazing and so joyful. The joy on the faces of the residents and excitement was off the charts. I was so moved by the appreciation of all. It was a pleasure to volunteer and bring joy to the Hunter Woods Fellowship House in Reston, VA. I would encourage all to volunteer at this wonderful home for seniors. I will volunteer again!! Alan C

YAF has done an incredible job of preserving the legacy of President Reagan by purchasing and then restoring and adding a visitor center and parking and interpretive areas to Reagan's childhood home in Dixon Illinois and his Western White House outside Santa Barbara, California.

National Honors society helped me to realize what I wanted out of a career.

I am newly diagnosed and hope that I and others can be educated on this.

Two years after I lost my beloved TB, Khandi, I moved to my own farmette and my QH needed a companion. I wanted to adopt, searched Petfinder for another TB, and came across Tina at Lost and Found Horse Rescue Foundation. The staff at the rescue were extremely knowledgeable and kind. They were honest about the horses, and all of the animals at the farm were being given the best care. I can't say enough great things about this rescue, and I would encourage anyone to adopt from them or at least send a donation!

The Media Research Center has been absolutely wonderful in exposing the bias of the liberal media. Their mission to make truth and liberty flourish in America will help Americans to keep their founding principles of faith and freedom. May God Bless their work! May the truth set us free!

I volunteered at the Mother's Day Run that Devotion To Children held this year. It was a great upbeat event that supported and appreciated moms! The team at Devotion To Children is great and extremely friendly, I would definitely volunteer again in their upcoming events. I got to meet with the President and Founder of the non-profit, her warm personality showed me exactly why she does she does.

As a case worker with 20 years of experience I am so touched by the heart and attention to detail of this organization. The commitment to excellence and change in the lives of my clients within the foster care system is more than above the average. Danielle is a walking heart and surrounds the org with those who not only care for there to be a change but who actually put forth the effort to make it happen. Thank you for all you do.

I first became involved with Ripple Effect Images while living in New Delhi, India. I was drawn to the organization because instead of focusing on the struggles and problems that face women and girls, it chooses to highlight and really SEE the solutions. <br> <br>By sharing those solutions via the images and videos that their cameras capture, it enables charities and non-profits the world over who are making a difference in the lives of women and girls to put THEIR best foot forward.

My two and a half year old daughter has been attending Common Ground since she was 16 weeks old. I can say with confidence that choosing Common Ground was one of the wisest early parenting decisions we made. <br> <br>While frequent teacher and director turnover is common in childcare centers, over half of the teachers have been at Common Ground for more than 10 years and at least 25% of those have been there at least 15-20 years. At least three teachers have been there 25+ years and the Center has been serving "all segments of the community" in Reston for 40 years as of 2012. <br> <br>As a parent, I appreciate the gentle, experienced approach of the teachers, as well as the genuine interest that all of the teachers take in my child. Each teacher teaches the children to respect themselves, their peers, and their teachers because of who they are and to embrace their differences. There is a clear sense of embracing diversity and social justice, which is important to me, because it reflects the values I want to instill in my young child. <br> <br>When I first returned to work after my maternity leave, a colleague gave me the sage advice that, when you have confidence in your child care, it's easy to return to the job you love. She was absolutely right. And I'm glad to say that Common Ground made it easy for me to return to that job. Not only have the caregivers been fantastic, but they have been respectful of my wishes as a breastfeeding/pumping mother and then as the mother of a child with allergies. <br> <br>Common Ground is a good place and I'm glad we found it. As my child grows older and has different teachers and experiences, my decision is only reinforced.

NOVACO, truly turns lives around. The transitional housing program is well set up and i have seen it really make a difference in peoples lives. The staff really cares about their clients and they become like family with their clients. Even going to their clients kids school functions or weddings. They help set them up with jobs, and housing and really get them back on their feet and help them help themselves and learn to be independent and self -sufficient. I am very blessed to be able to volunteer with an organization that truly helps change lives for the better.
