I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bunny Buddies! As a first-time bunny mom, I had LOTS of questions, and everyone was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The adoption process was simple and smooth, and I felt supported every step of the way. From the amazing fosters to everyone behind the scenes, you can tell how much they genuinely care about these bunnies. Thanks to Bunny Buddies, I got my sweet little Frisbee! She was quite antisocial at first, but her personality has completely blossomed. She’s now a sassy little diva who demands food 24/7, accepts affection only on HER schedule, and isn’t afraid to thump her feet to express her disapproval! She’s even earned the nickname “Thumperella” because she certainly knows how to hold a grudge! She’s become my little best friend, and I couldn’t imagine life without her. I’ll forever be grateful to Bunny Buddies for bringing Frisbee into my life! 💜🐰

I donate to dozens of charities. This one is the worst. I will never donate to them again. I donated generously in Dec. 2025, and asked Jack Callahan jack@whiskeysavage.com, who had replied to an earlier inquiry, to send a tax receipt letter. He replied "I’ve made our treasurer aware of the donation and requested a tax letter be emailed to you," /s/ "Jack Callahan, Director Helping a Hero Outdoors." Three months later I hadn't received the letter, so I asked him again. He replied "I’ve sent this request over to our CFO." On April 30 I, still no letter, and contacted him again – no reply – and then again in mid-October 2026. No courtesy of a reply to a generous donor. The IRS expects nonprofits to send tax receipt letters by the due date of a donor's tax return for the year in which the donation was made. This organization has failed, after repeated requests, to provide one to me. Their contempt for this donor shows they don't need my money. I plan to file a complaint with the IRS.

I had the honor of working with Conviventia but as an individual volunteer, not with a group or church. During my time with them, I witnessed the work they do not just in one school, but in most of their locations. Each and every member of the Conviventia team - whether in the office, the classrooms, the members of the board - was kind, accommodating, hard-working, and utterly committed to their mission of loving, equipping, and developing the individuals and communities they serve. Ready and willing to jump in and serve wherever needed, everyone involved was passionate about the people of Colombia. Conviventia has truly touched on every facet and need of these communities and have designed crucial touch points to ensure the continuous and effective progress of their programs. I was so blessed by seeing the incredible changes that Conviventia’s work caused in the lives of their students. And it does truly change lives. God is working through this ministry!

While there are some very great people who work here, there are some (particularly in leadership) who are not. They create a toxic work environment and/or prevent the organization from doing anything significant. Turnover is high due to very difficult people leading the organization, some who are borderline sociopaths. In my experience, they do not do much good with the money that is donated to them and are too afraid to do anything new or interesting or really impactful. They consider themselves a consultancy for other non-profits, but offer very little benefits to their partners. They promise things that never materialize. They treat their own employees like garbage. I don't know how some of these people entered into the non-profit space where compassion and love are what drive most of us. This is not what drives the current leaders. There are some exceptions, but overall this place is a disaster.

A trusted, transparent organization serving its community at every level.

I happened to have rescued a dog that needed spaying, so I found this non-profit and booked her appointment. When I went to pick her up I started noticing the amount of pets that were being treated at this facility. I saw how compationate the employees were to help everyones needs for their pets, it was really heartwarming seeing people who generally wanted the best for their animal(s). This non-profit is amazing along with the people that work there, I was so impressed I ask them how I could help them continue their misson. Kindness should be rewarded with Kindness.

Ovarcome does such a wonderful job supporting ovarian cancer patients in the local and national community, providing funding, education and support. What a wonderful resource for ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers!

I have only one car to get to work. It stopped running and I didn't have a way to get to work. I am the provider of my family. I contacted Parnell Intermediary Services Inc. to help me get my car fixed.It not only help me get my car fixed. Parnell gave me transportation to to work until my car came back for the shop. I didn't lose my job. I'm so grateful.

TSSUS has had issues with is cliques and other issues of how it handles things especially with its social media. Differences arent encouraged . It does not help ts women if we arent unified even accepting of Differences .

Can confirm the details of the most recent negative poster. Group is led with strange authoritarian dynamic. The director is not someone with the temperament to work with children. Other adults involved relate to children in stern, strict, non-personable ways. Concerts are joyless and cold. It is also a matter of public record that the director and founder, Stephen Roddy, was accused of se***lly mo****ing a child at a Houston area church decades ago. I am proud to be a volunteer with the East Harris County Empowerment Council. This organization has a genuine heart for the community and makes a meaningful impact across multiple communities every single year. From resources to support services, their work truly changes lives; I’ve been on both sides of this coin, a volunteer and a receiver of assistance for my family. I believed in the vision the CEO shared from the very beginning, and that belief is exactly why I chose to volunteer over a decade ago. The leadership is passionate, intentional, and committed to empowering people—not just offering temporary help, but creating lasting change. It’s an honor to be part of this organization!

I voluntarily admitted myself to Menninger for a planned 30-day stay (not court-ordered; I drove myself there). The environment felt highly restrictive and, for me, destabilizing rather than therapeutic. Nighttime checks every 15 minutes severely disrupted sleep. When I said I wanted to leave early because the setting was making me worse, staff escalated and I was told that if I insisted on leaving or didn’t “straighten up,” they could arrange involuntary commitment and police removal through external channels. As a voluntary patient, that felt coercive and I stayed out of fear. After payment was complete, discharge was suddenly approved, which raised concerns about the earlier resistance to leaving. I was also troubled by a discharge diagnosis that didn’t match my long-term functioning and appeared influenced by inaccurate third-party information. I’m requesting my full records. I recommend asking detailed questions about patient rights, sleep protocols, and the process for leaving.

not what it used to be. can’t get anyone to answer the phone and they’re extremely dismissive in person when people are desperate. they’re one of 2 places that service my zip code and at least the other one has the decency to answer and tell someone when they don’t have funds.

I saw their work very closely, and it is truly commendable. Their efforts to help vulnerable communities are sincere, impactful, and driven by compassion. An organization that genuinely stands for humanity. ❤️

Being selected by the International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) to attend the OPCC 2025 was an honour and a defining moment in my journey as a palliative and oncology nurse from Papua New Guinea. As President of PaNGONA, this opportunity strengthened both my clinical practice and my leadership. The conference equipped me with practical, evidence-based strategies in pain management, end-of-life care, and community-based palliative care that I immediately applied at Port Moresby General Hospital and shared with nurses across PNG. The global mentors and colleagues I connected with continue to guide and inspire my work. This experience deepened my commitment to improving palliative care services in PNG and empowered me to advocate more effectively for our patients and families. I am truly grateful to IAHPC for investing in my development and for supporting healthcare workers in low-resource settings.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Association of Texas has helped me whenever I have questions, need support, want to advocate for legislation to improve, promote, create awareness to the public, legislators, health care providers, doctors and family members. Time is now to reintroduce Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Enhancement Act contact you House of Representatives, Senators, anyone and everyone. Pulmonary Fibrosis literally TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY. Sadly PF was cited as a disease to be included in funding, however it was not included when final funding was approved. Houston is the opposite side of Texas from where I live in El Paso. One person will make a difference, everyone together wil be the difference. Thank You, Karl Kingan P.S. PF has no cure no treatment no funding and is a progressive disease with the only hope of living each day to the best of your ability everyday realizing that limits to what you can and can not do are our future for tose of us who have this disease and those that will be diagnosed in the futuree unless funding is found to at least find some to halt if not reverse the progressive scarring of the lungs which occurs. If you have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis at best your life expectancy is 5 years. Some live longer other people die sooner. Take a DEEP BREATH and realize how precious it is to be able to breathe. <br>WE WHO HAVE PULMONARY FIBROSIS TRY OUR BEST TO MAKE THE MOST OF EACH PRECIOUS BREATH.

Be An Angel is a unique nonprofit that helps special needs, medically fragile and hearing impaired children age birth to 22. The mission of Be An Angel is to improve the lives of children with special needs by providing adaptive equipment, hearing devices, select services, support programs and a respite care program. I have personally seen the difference BAA makes in the lives of children and the positive impact it has for the child as well as the family. We provided a wheelchair to a two year old with Sturge Weber, a van conversion to a young girl so her parents can get her around easier, and many hearing aids to various children. I can't tell you about all the smiles I have seen happen through the work of BAA. Truly an AMAZING organization who is here to help those who need us!!

As a proud board member of the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible impact this organization has on advancing breast cancer research. What makes this foundation truly special is that it’s powered entirely by volunteers — every dollar raised goes directly toward funding life-saving research right here in Houston. The dedication, heart, and teamwork of everyone involved are truly inspiring. Each event we host not only raises critical funds but also builds a strong sense of community and hope. I’m continually amazed by the generosity of our supporters and the lasting difference we’re making together in the fight against breast cancer. It’s an honor to serve on the board of such a transparent, passionate, and mission-driven organization.

My Connect Community (MCC) is an extraordinary place-based nonprofit in the Gulfton/Sharpstown neighborhood of Houston, TX. MCC works with newcomer families to hear their concerns, amplify their voices, and offer the opportunities they need to build a meaningful and safe life. Programming includes job search support, job training, and ESL that helps put residents on a path to financial stability. Many of the staff live in the neighborhood and serve as community ambassadors to help their neighbors. I have worked with many nonprofits and am especially moved by the commitment of the staff and board, the quality of the programming, and the individualized attention the organization provides. MCC is a trusted partner in the community with the wellbeing of all as its core. It is an honor to work with MCC and be part of its remarkable impact.

Through AMIGOS, I was able to deeply engage in environmental justice work that was meaningful, community-driven, and hands-on. From trash clean-ups and seed banks to working with local organizations like the Ministry of the Environment, every moment felt purposeful. Living with a host family and forming real relationships with community members gave me a new understanding of cultural humility and connection. I wasn’t just visiting — I was learning, growing, and contributing alongside others. One of the most impactful parts for me was teaching — not just English, but connecting with students through relatable, age-appropriate lessons about the environment, identity, and our shared world. It introduced me to culturally responsive teaching before I even had the language for it. AMIGOS also gave me the confidence to lead without needing all the answers. It showed me that just being curious and committed is enough to make a difference. Years later, I’m still drawing lessons from that.

I have completely fallen in love with this community! Velora and all of the board members are truly doing the Lords work! I love the accountability and faithfulness! I Thank God everyday for being able to be apart of this group!

Family to family network has been very helpful in terms of helping me get services for my adult child. They have been helpful in understand estate planning for my adult child w Autism. They have been there when I had questions about the laws or services. They are knowledgeable and kind. They have been around since for 30 years helping when I had a question, giving resource information as we went along. I am so very grateful for their kindness, resource and knowledge.

As a volunteer advisor, I want to start by commending the team — especially Ice — for the inspiring work you're doing to empower young girls through education and leadership. The recent EmpowerHER summit and gala were strong steps toward long-term impact. It was inspiring to see the community come together to support such an important mission, and I’m proud to be contributing to a movement that uplifts and empowers young girls through education. Involving students added energy and relevance — showing that young people are central not just as beneficiaries but also as leaders. I’m excited to continue supporting this mission.
