Thank you Josh for your vision for these fields! Without you and your ability to rally the "troops," gather the supplies and lead the way, our kids would still be playing sports on dangerous ground. Thank you to all who volunteered and gave generously to make this vision a reality. Under Josh's excellent leadership you are the "boots on the ground" that carry out the mission. This organization supports foster children by providing a one-on-one mentor. The education given to the volunteers by the CASA staff to prepare them is thorough, detailed, and very helpful. The ethics and integrity of the program are above reproach. Also, the organization has low overhead so the bulk of their funding goes to the actual mission to serve this at-risk population. <br>The youth I mentored was a victim of physical and sexual abuse in her home. Once in foster care, she was moved several times and attended various schools. I was able to report to the court in a detailed way about what was happening and what interventions she needed to help her graduate high school and get into therapeutic counseling. I also took her through the process of getting a potentially cancerous tumor evaluated. By being a stable presence in her life, she began to see that she was worthwhile and some adults could be trusted.

This was the most moving, most ground-breaking experience I have ever participated in. the people (especially Pam) were just so kind, so sweet, and absolutely wonderful. This brought me closer to my friends and peers in general. I think this should be shared with the rest of the world, including adults. It should be worldwide because an experience like this is extremely motivating, to know who is in the same position as you are, to know you aren't alone. I believe it is important to know how many people can help you, and its okay to be whoever you are. Thank you so much for being the change in the world, and I will make sure to spread the word of the amazing program.

Youth Homes provides clinical services to young adults who need a hand up. I’ve seen firsthand how impactful these services are for youth in need.

We Care has had an incredibly powerful impact on our family. One of our twin daughters was born with special needs and We Care was the top facility in the area offering a full-inclusion program that allowed us to keep our girls together in the same program. We have been thrilled with all of the love and care our girls have received from the amazing staff at We Care. Everyone we have encountered has gone above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of both our special needs and typical children. Thank you for your outstanding services, We Care!!

Hope Academy works. The method has taught my son in six months concepts and practices that he never learned in public school. He was falling further and further behind and no one could quite pinpoint what was going on with him. Hope is teaching him. I feel so relieved and he feels great now! He is experiencing success and in turn he likes himself more, he is proud of his work, he likes to tell people about his school. I am so grateful and will be forever. My son's future is full of potential.

I been helping project 180 the last 2 years and it’s been a blessing helping and they have also been a blessing helping me. I live at one of their recovery homes in Vallejo California and I been able to get my high school diploma since being there and I’m currently going to college to get my bachelors degree. It’s a great ministry that helps so much people.

Sunny Singh is an inspiration to us all. Some of the traits of a great leader are awareness, decisiveness, empathy, optimism, and focus all of which Sunny has exemplified as the leader of the non profit Yours Humanly. To provide access to education to any human is beautiful, but to our youth, this gift builds a better future. So we can say that Sunny Singh is instrumental in building the future of the world.

My 6 years on the board is almost up, so I thought I would rate my experience with Shelter, Inc. It has been the most rewarding years of my life. The organization is so passionate about helping low income families avoid losing their present housing, or helping homeless families find permanent housing. The large financial assistance for rent subsidy is also tremendously heart warming. Basically, Shelter, Inc. has a very strong convincing mission statement: dedicated to helping low income families find permanent housing one family at a time. I feel deeply honored to be a small part of such a warm and loving organization.

East Bay Community Foundation has been supporting CAPC with grants since 1998. In 2011 we selected CAPC as one of our Community Partners--well-managed organizations that have demonstrated impact in our focus areas of Early Childhood Success and/or Economic Empowerment. CAPC's Nurturing Parenting classes and home visiting programs provide invaluable support to low-income families, many of whom are non-English speaking, to give their young children a strong and healthy start in life so they can become successful learners in school and economically independent as adults. CAPC's programs meet a huge need in our communities and their staff are highly professional and deeply caring--a powerful combination!

I have personally seen what the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County has done for the folks in our community. Working with them has been an honor. They genuinely care about the citizens they serve - not just about making sure they receive food, but that they receive nutritional food and valuable tools in order to feed their families healthy meals in a variety of ways. Our Food Bank has a wonderful relationship with our area farmers, grocers and other agencies so that whenever there is food to donate, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is at the top of the list. They are a blessing to all they serve and an excellent role model in teaching us how we can do better and more, even with less.

I became personally involved with D4D going back 16 years (2003). I know this because this is the year my middle son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and while attending a camp with him, I met Mark Ruefenacht and Armstrong (the original D4D dog). After learning more about the program, I have donated material amounts of time and money to helping support the organization. <br><br>In my opinion, what this group has been able to accomplish over the years in nothing short of amazing. Great mission, great team, and great results!

I had the opportunity to volunteer at Monument Crisis Center during Armanino’s Great Give, and it was such a meaningful experience. Being part of decorating the space for a kids and teen event really opened my eyes to the incredible work they do, creating a welcoming, uplifting environment for families in need. This organization goes far beyond just providing food. They offer education, resources, and support that truly empower the community and help people build stability and hope. You can feel the care, compassion, and dedication of everyone involved, and it is clear how much impact they have on so many lives. I am grateful to have contributed in a small way, and would highly recommend supporting or volunteering here if you get the chance.

There is simply no other organization in the world like Early Alert Canines. In addition to providing top-quality, certified Diabetic Alert Dogs to insulin-dependent diabetics free of charge, EAC trains and places Skilled Companion Alert Dogs with the families of diabetic children. If you've tried to get a medical service dog for your child at any other organization, you'll immediately understand how unique and valuable this service is. The staff at EAC are all pioneering experts in their fields as well as effective and knowledgeable advocates in both the service dog and diabetic communities. The organization is professional, principled and passionate. Though my Diabetic Alert Dog was trained elsewhere, I rely on the experts at EAC for ongoing support. Early Alert Canines is my first resource for all service dog related issues and also my second family. I consider myself a life-long supporter, donor and volunteer.

they sent a letter to our home address because my spouse serves on a board to help public education in our area. they spread propaganda about sex ed and abortion. I tried to respond at their website which could not be found. this organization is tracking people they think don't adhere to their thinking....and invading the privacy of citizens. stay away.

Contra Costa Senior Legal Services is an amazing organization that has helped me more than I can describe. It saved me from losing my home. They spent untold hours, completely free, to help me. I am eternally grateful to them.

I mailed check for donation, check number 126 dated july 13, 2017 amount $ 250.00 .The check did not cash up to now. my questions 1-did you receive the check? 2- if yes is there any problem in the check to cash it?

This place prevents more child abuse than anyone could ever imagine. It is truly incredible. I am the sole parent of a 2.5 year old little boy and I have no living family to help me. After I was in an accident and was too injured to take care of my son, I had no choice but to do the right thing and bring him here. This place is so warm and loving. It looks more like a home than anything and the children sleep in bedrooms where they're warm and feel loved and the staff knows exactly what each individual child needs to comfort them. I have been taking my son here every month for about a year and a half for a 48 hour stress break. Like clockwork. He has come to expect it and gets super excited to go to "the nursery". I don't know what I'd do without this place. Every single city should have a place like this. If you have any fear in taking your child here, don't. I did at first, but in their 30 years of operation they've only ever had to turn a child over to CPS twice. Just 2 times in 30 years (because of abandonment). They are here to help you, and you will get your child back. I promise you, they are here to help. If you have ever considered donating to this place, I cannot think of a better cause to donate your money to. They have had and continue to have a tremendous impact on me and my son's life. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Bay Area Crisis Nursery.

I have been working with CAA for a few years now - what I love most about it are the people. I've met some wonderful, creative and talented men and women who have become friends and colleagues. Supporting local artists and bringing more art and creative experiences to our community is so important to me! Being part of CAA has also afforded me the opportunity to build great relationships with our city leadership, local businesses and other local nonprofits. Art matters!

As a Site Supervisor and classroom teacher for our part-day state-funded preschool program, I have had the privilege to work with this program. Tandem has great workshops for new teachers as well as seasoned teachers and their support is easily accessible. Their literacy specialist was very well trained and very involved when she came to present in our classroom. I could not be more grateful for their support to our programs.

I have been a volunteer with the Contra Costa Child Care Council, in the Nutrition Department for the last 5 years. Being a volunteer has given me opportunity to help out the community in a small way. This is my first volunteering job & it is a great experience! I am happy to use my computer skill working with databases. I enjoy working with everyone in the department; they are very appreciative, kind and “Excellent Bosses”.

WARNING before you pursue this company! As a former Employee, I must give you some guidance before you spend any money with these people. They started off with 6 employees. After all of the basics and procedures of the business were set up, they laid off all 6 employees to hire “Volunteers” to teach and recruit new students. Four of the 6 employees had to file claims with the California State Labor Enforcement Board, due to non-payment of wages. <br> <br>All four cases were successfully won by the employees and Final Judgment was handed down by the Alameda County Superior Court. They continue to receive money, graduate students, and conduct business. However, to date they STILL refuse to pay their former employees! The CEO/Executive Director, CFO, and all board members were aware all along that the employees were neither being paid nor going to be paid. <br> <br>If these are the “Business Ethics” being practiced by A Hand ‘n Hand, Inc., I can only imagine what they will be teaching any prospective students. <br> <br>How can you teach Customer Care if you can’t practice Customer Care with your own employees? How can you teach E-commerce or Entrepreneurial Management if you can’t run a business well enough to pay your employees? If you haven’t been paying your bills, what do you think your Credit Management skills are rated? <br> <br>Please check public records in the Alameda County Courts, before you give these people any of your money or time. Labor suits are not the only judgments out there!
