We had interest in four dogs (through Pet Finder) that were all at Lost Paws. We met them all on Saturday at a Petsmart. The volunteers were patient and helpful, giving us plenty of time with each dog as we made a decision. The president of the org was friendly and provided good insights on each pup. We ended up adopting Blaze (later renamed Hank) because he immediately got along with our other dog. (She had an important vote in the new addition!) The paperwork process was easy and we are happily one month in with this silly boy! :)

I visited Operation Kindness with high hopes, but my experience left me devastated and disillusioned. What was meant to be a place of compassion turned into a nightmare for me and my beloved pet.<br><br>My cat, Titan, was wrongfully surrendered to Operation Kindness by someone who falsely claimed ownership. Despite my frantic attempts to rectify the situation and provide proof of ownership, the organization adopted Titan out within just two days, showing a shocking lack of due diligence.<br><br>When I reached out to Operation Kindness, I was met with indifference and bureaucracy. They refused to acknowledge their mistake or take any meaningful action to reunite me with Titan. Their "kindness" seemed to extend only to potential adopters, not to rightful owners desperately trying to recover their pets.<br><br>This experience has caused me immense emotional distress. Titan wasn't just a pet; he was family. Operation Kindness's actions have torn apart that family, leaving a void that cannot be filled.<br><br>I urge potential adopters and those considering surrendering pets to think twice before engaging with Operation Kindness. Their hasty processes and lack of thorough verification can lead to heartbreaking consequences. A true animal welfare organization should prioritize reuniting lost pets with their owners, not rushing through adoptions without proper checks.<br><br>My story serves as a cautionary tale. While Operation Kindness may have good intentions, their practices can lead to devastating outcomes for both pets and their rightful owners.

God Bless Cindy Villarreal and her entire volunteer staff for the wonderful work they have done to raise money to fight brain cancer via research and education. Since they became a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, they have donated ~$500,000 to major learning institutions for research. Texas Husky Rescue does phenomenal rescue work, and has very dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to save more huskies! I’ve volunteered with the organization for almost 13 years, and it is truly a labor of love! The volunteers host adoption events, pull dos from shelters, meet with potential adopters to find great forever homes for the dogs, transport dogs all over Texas, medically vet the dogs to ensure they are healthy, support our social media outreach and so much more! This is a top notch, gold star organization!!

Twenty plus years ago Bea Salazar was blessed with a vision and a mission after observing the needs of many low income apartment children. These many years later, hundreds of these youngsters have attained a high school diploma and succeeded in stepping out into life with strength and confidence in their future...some even with advanced education in mind. I bake a monthly cupcake treat for the Carrollton Center and am welcomed by the smiling faces of three rooms of extremely polite and well behaved youngsters eagerly finishing their homework with the help of caring volunteers knowing their dedicated help is giving these young minds a definite chance to grow and succeed in the years ahead. Thank you Bea Salazar for the long time success of "BEA'S KIDS" ... through your faithfulness to a much needed cause, your determined efforts have seen this wonderful program continue to grow.

I’ve followed this organization on Facebook for awhile and have seen them share about trafficking as well share about missing and found kids.

The COH organization is made up of a group of leaders and volunteers working to make a lasting impact in Texas communities by serving people and families in need- and I love that! The dedication, blood, sweat and tears that have been poured into this organization has made it an amazing group to be a part of. There is nothing greater than knowing you have aided or helped someone less fortunate and put a smile on their face and made their world a little brighter, that's what COH does. <br>I am proud to be a part of this group!

We just adopted a sweet mini schnauzer from Lone Star Westie Rescue and the process could not have gone smoother. He was surrendered to the rescue with medical files and was loved and cared for every step of the way. Before we picked him up he was groomed, had his nails clipped and taken to the vet for a check up. He was given to us with a collar, his two favorite beds, and his favorite toy. Communication with the rescue was great. After approving our application they came to us for a home visit and meet and greet with the dog. They put the dog first and make sure that the family they are placing their pets with are safe and caring. We have never worked with a rescue before and this was a wonderful experience. Just a few weeks in and our new little guy is a thriving, cuddly member of our family!

Sack Summer Hunger was started in 2012 to provide food to youth that receive breakfast and lunch through a federal food program during the school year. However, during the summer the students do not have access to this program. Sack Summer Hunger fulfills an essential need to provide nutritious food during the summer so these young people are not left hungry. <br> <br>I have had the chance to speak to counselors that identified students for this program and they were so appreciative that Metrocrest was there to help these students to have food to eat during the summer.

It is incredible to see how music can influence a child's life. The impact Trumpets4Kids has had throughout the community is evident at each and every event. I continue to be amazed!

Testimony<br><br>By: Ellisa Brown<br><br>I committed myself to A-WOW because the organization helped more than can ever be expressed with words. This summer as the day became closer to returning to my sophomore year as the Sophomore Class President, I found myself more and more unsure of my confidence in my leadership abilities. Certainly, the last thing I wanted to do was to let my class down. Once I found A-WOW, its ambassadors and volunteers who I met had nothing but encouraging things to say and great advice to give. Moreover throughout this tough year, they have been my support system. I still talk on a regular basis to the girls with whom I graduated. I don’t know what I would have done this summer without this program, and I want to make sure that any girl who feels even remotely close to what I was feeling has the chance to experience this great organization.<br><br>Three words to describe my experience with A-WOW are safe, opportunity, and wow. A-WOW allows me a safe environment to learn about my leadership talents. It let me strengthen the parts of my leadership abilities I was least confident in. Opportunity presents itself because I meet women who had nothing but my best interest at heart. They gave their advice from what they had learned from experience freely. By meeting these women, you have the opportunity to uses their knowledge and connections to open doors for yourself and they are more than willing to help you. My last word, wow, is at the very heart of the organization’s name. All of the girls in this program bring to mind nothing but awe from me and my gratitude for their acquaintance.<br> <br> A-WOW envisions itself as the preferred girls’ leadership initiative, providing a global brand of high potential, responsible, positive, effective environmental and innovative leaders. In the future, I want to be one of the people that aids in the fulfillment of this vision. I will always feel this organization gave more to me then I will in anyway be able to give back, but <br><br>I know I will spend the rest of my life trying.

Housing Help by John 3:16 has provided help for the needy in our community for several years now. Our goal is to help families remain in their homes when hard times come due to job loss, sickness, or other reasons. The need has never been greater due to inflation and the current economy. I’m so grateful for this organization.

This is a horrible school. They don't teach at all an they expect our kids to know all the hard stuff they teach them. They have horrible accents and no one can understand them. On the bright side they teach hard stuff and it helps in the long run. Still there are more negatives then positives so I would not recommend this school.

Great group of about 100 regular volunteers (no paid staff), plus hundreds of guest volunteers (Citi, Wells Fargo, JC Penney, etc.), who work hard year round to ship thousands of care packages to U.S. troops overseas. The mission is non-political, and the nonprofit has been in existence for about 10 years. The volunteers are a diverse group from across the DFW area. <br> <br>I have volunteered for many years and can attest to their cost-effective use of donations and effectiveness in getting the goods to troops in remote areas. The care packages go to all branches - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines - and those care packages may have reached 100,000+ troops since the founding. <br> <br>The nonprofit also helps many outside organizations (churches, businesses, civic organizations, school groups) ship soldiers care packages . <br> <br>Good people focused on supporting the troops.

Dr. Schults, Emily, Louise & Kat along with the rest of her staff are making a difference in the rescue world by offering low cost services including surgeries which help allow rescues to keep costs low so we can save more animals. <br> <br>Her diagnosis are always spot on and the specialized surgeries she performs are complex and affordable. I cannot tell you how much I love this vet!

This is a league that has rebuilt after losing most of the board. They continue to work towards greatness in everything they do. There will always be unhappy parents, but the board tries to listen to and accommodate these families when possible. There are over 400 kids in the league and only about 10 people that volunteer to run the league. It's not an easy job, but they take on that task. The board of course couldn't function without the coaches each year. <br>If you are looking for a league in Carrollton, look it up.

Imagine your brother or child dying of suspicious causes where the wife is a only suspect. Now imagine having to bury that brother/son while trying to cooperate with the wife. That is the situation we found ourself in. We all agreed we wanted the service in a church and picked the church they had gotten married in - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton. Pastor M's idea of a funeral was to parade my brother's "sins" like a mask of shame in front of the congregation. Always wanting to give someone the benefit of the doubt, I later took him aside to tell him my brother's story. His death story. He assured me that he understood and i convinced my parents to give this Church a second chance, sure that they would not pick sides as it was a church, open to all. Boy was I wrong. I was lied to by Pastor M when he told me he heard me and that he would work to develop peace within the families. What i didnt know was outsiders are not welcome in this church. Instead of being honest and telling us that we had no real say in the service, they led us to believe that our ideas would be implemented only to find out literally by accident the night before that all of our parts if the service had been erased. I personally tried to air my grievance to him and get him to make it right, but i was immediately rebuffed and told i had had my say and that SHE was going through a hard time. How dare he! Where was the compassion for the family who had just lost their son/brother? It is not in Prince of Peace Lutheran. There was no remorse in these acts and the worst part for me that keeps me up at night was that I was lied to by a Pastor. We would have gladly had our own service if he would have been honest. Instead, i had to hold my son as he cried for 2 hours over the pain this caused. "Why would a church treat my Uncle this way?" he wails... "He was good!" Truth:. This is not the Lord's Church. The Preachers here believe this is their church. Read no more, i would never recommend this Church. Trust me, you could go to almost any other church on any other block and find examples of human grace and kindness which we all as Christians need to exemplify.

I have been a member for ten years. I am currently taking Metalsmithing and Glass Fusing. I feel welcomed and part of a community. The Craft Guild of Dallas offers classes in painting, glass lamp working, glass fusing, book binding, pottery, metalsmithing. Love the place

Unless someone in your household work from home, is a hommsaker, or is retired, you're odds of adopting through this organization are very low. If there are multiple applicants for a dog (which there often are), stay at home parents are their first choice. Other group that will struggle are families with kids and young couple, who they assume will have children. (They label may dogs as no children home.) I appreciate their desire to match each dog with the best home, but I just want adopters who work outside of the home to know the odds are against them, so they can make an informed decision before wasting their time with a process that stacks the deck against them.

I'm starting a nonprofit program to help in my community. I have been help by organizations in the past and it was such a relief. I see many kids in need of help in my neighborhood and I wanna help them in some kind of way. I'm looking to collect donations in order to help with school clother and shoes. And any other personal they may need including a home cooked meal for afterschool. What really touched my heart was when one of my grand-daughters asked if we could give food to one of her friends because they didn't have food. So now i'm on a mission to HELP....

I am a design consultant I signed up to the Grove late 2010. <br>It has not only been a great place to work and network, but I have made a new set of friends and business associates that I now consider extended family. <br>Ken and Slate do an outstanding job of delivering on their promise EVERY day and I consider myself fortunate to be one of the early recruits

For the past seven years, I have trained student peer mediators with the materials from PaxUnited. We see a positive impact when our students help other students mediate their differences.

If a parent is looking to provide an excellent educational experience with emphasis on 100% learning with the ability to apply that knowlege to life, this is the place. Parents and students alike love it here. Oak Crest produces happy moticated students who excel.
