Boerne Nonprofits and Charities

As a nonprofit organization, the Children's Advocacy Center of Parker County greatly appreciates the support of another nonprofit helping us serve the kids in our community who are primarily victims of abuse. A backpack may seem like an insignificant item to some, but to be able to fill these wonderful backpacks with school supplies and provide them to children and families who are dealing with so much, and alleviate an additional stressor, is a simple blessing that goes along way. We cannot thank Day 1 Bags enough for providing backpacks in a variety of colors so that we can better serve the children and families in our community. The backpacks will also be used to fill with clothing and basic necessities if the children and families we serve need it. Being able to leave with a backpack and not a plastic bag, provides folks with dignity and respect they deserve. We are grateful Day 1 Bags chose the Children's Advocacy Center of Parker County to donate to.

Every volunteer was very kind, engaging and fun! They put smiles on all the kids' faces. We were able to eat dinner, paint cookies, and see Santa. The lights were also absolutely beautiful! The kids loved seeing the Minions and Grinch lit up for them!

Shared Beat is an amazing organization, providing health exams, follow-up care, vision screenings, dental exams, vitamins and parasite medicine to over 1500 children living in the Guatemala City dump area and 6 rural schools. Shared Beat supports a health clinic in the Safe Passage School along with a preventive health program in the San Martin area that monitors the health of the children in the area and offers health education to teachers and parents. Additionally, Shared Beat provides health career scholarships to those interested in professions such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychology, physical therapy, nutrition and social work. In 2025, Shared Beat will be supporting 20 deserving students as they pursue their dreams.

After having to repeatedly inquire, this rescue finally sent me the dog I wanted to adopt. He didn’t come with any papers except a crumpled up intake form and was infected with the parasite giardia, which quickly spread to my other dogs. Unsuccessful treatment has cost me a fortune and they will not refund adoption fee. Stay away from this rescue.

The Pink Berets continues to be a blessing to women veterans like myself. This year I joined them on their social cruise where I reconnected with my sisters-in-arms and had a GREAT time traveling with them. I also attended their Women Warriors on Water Fishing Retreat where I went wade fishing for the first time. Not only did the retreat provide an opportunity to connect with my sisters, a peaceful environment to connect with nature and heal, but learning a new skill gave me a boost of confidence. <br>The Pink Berets provides so much for women veterans, and I cannot recommend them enough!

We have been involved with Hill Country Daily Bread since its inception. They have big hearts and serve our community so well! I know my donations go directly to help people in our surrounding area!

Dance Fairies is an amazing nonprofit to work with! They help provide costumes to less fortunate dance studios worldwide which provides kids less fortunate with the opportunity to shine on stage with the beautiful costumes and dance shoes they deserve. This year I did a service project collecting costumes and doing fundraisers for money to send the costumes to the Dance Fairies headquarters and then to be redistributed across the country and worldwide. Dance Fairies was so helpful through this process, providing me with shipping labels to send the costumes, communicating with me throughout the whole process, and redistributing the costumes to studios in need. <br><br>Thank you for everything you do Dance Fairies!!<br>- Maddie

I was invited to help out preparing for the yearly Gala. Since I am a professional photographer I brought my camera to document the volunteers making preparations in many creative ways. They were very appreciative, provided lunch and everyone was very friendly. I would volunteer for them again.

I was enchanted from the first moment! The facility is beautiful and thoughtfully planned. They use it for all the many programs offered to children and the community. The land is expertly managed: invasive species of foliage and wildlife have been re-located so that native species can flourish in a restored habitat. The newly acquired Herff Farm is an incredible addition! The Farm is located on the other side of the creek. The public can shop for fresh veggies, eggs and other homemade items at the Saturday morning Farmer's Market. Eventually, the historic Herff farm house that dates back to the American Civil War will be open for tours. And I can't say enough about the beautiful Cibolo Creek! The stands of Bald Cypress trees that flank the riverbank on each side are stunning! And the cool creek water trickles by with it's vast treasure of fish, turtles, leaves and other hordes of beauty. I encourage everyone to come discover and play! It's such a hidden nugget tucked away in the middle of Boerne, TX! I love it!

The Boerne Education Foundation is a true gem in our community. Their tireless dedication to supporting Boerne ISD students, teachers and schools has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. From innovative classroom grants to district-wide initiatives that enhance learning, BEF continually goes above and beyond to ensure our kids have every opportunity to succeed. <br><br>Their support isn’t just financial—it’s personal. They listen to our educators, respond to real needs in the classroom and invest in programs that directly benefit students across all grade levels. Whether it’s providing new technology, funding STEM programs or celebrating and recognizing outstanding teachers, BEF’s impact is seen and felt every day on campuses across our district. <br><br>We are incredibly lucky to have a foundation that not only believes in public education but backs that belief with action, heart and results. The Boerne Education Foundation exemplifies what it means to be a partner in education, and our community is stronger, smarter and more connected because of their work.<br>

I moved to a small town nearby and had no place with reasonable prices to alter stray/feral cats and kittens. It was a relief to have located this organization through San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition. They accepted 2 of my recent captures and did an excellent job with the surgery. A definite recommendation.

One of the most poorly run organizations I have ever encountered! They personally profit from donations whether it is directly (by personally using donated items or indirectly by profiting from the Thrift store via individual income). They are corrupt to say the least!

This is an excellent organization well worth your donations. I have know them since 1996 and have been a volunteer, board member and donor for many years. They provide for our Central Texas needs in the areas of water, land, agricultural sustainability as they also help rural senior citizens, youth and our rural emergency first responders (VFD, CERT, EMS). I feel that they have helped to sustain our rural values and economy so well since they were created as a 505(c)(3) nonprofit in 1993. Please give to their mission at www.alamorcd.org.

Back in 2019 I was on Facebook and I came across a picture of a Great Pyrenees puppy in a cone of shame. She had been sick with Parvo and hook worms and had almost died. I had been donating to Vet Ranch for years (prior to their becoming involved with Abandoned Pet Project) and had been following them on YouTube and Facebook. I commented that "ooh I want her, and then oh well, I hope she gets better soon!" Someone from Abandoned Pet Project messaged me back saying that she was in need of an adopter and they sent me the paperwork. Now I had been researching Pyrs for about two years and I knew that while there were some draw backs that they were the most compatible with my mindset and life style. So I filled out the paperwork and sent it back. About 10 minutes later I got another message, "You do know we are in Texas right?" I laughed and messaged back "Yes I do know that :)" Later that night I got another message telling me that they had gone over my paperwork and that I had been accepted as a potential adopter. They gave me Dr. Kari's phone number and she and I had a phone conversation the next day. Dr. Kari was very happy at the potential of this pup leaving Texas and coming to Michigan. We made plans for me to come get her at the beginning of September after she was spayed. I drove to Texas to pick her up and I have never regretted it. My pup is now 3-year-old, is a very trim 114 lbs, and is the happiest, friendliest, sweetest girl. Without Vet Ranch, Dr. Kari and her crew, and Abandoned Pet Project my Emma Bella would not be here to make everyone she comes in contact with smile. She has traveled across the country with me to visit family from Missouri to Chicago, and soon to Alaska. She is the best in the car, to the point where a couple of times my dad forgot she was with us. Thank you Abandoned Pet Project and Vet Ranch!

I can say without a doubt that the Lord is using this ministry to break chains and bring people out of spiritual and mental bondage. I have many friends, family and even a husband who went through the centers. I’ve seen the before, during, and after freedom from drug abuse and it has proved to me that anyone who is willing to come here and let the Lord in can and WILL receive freedom. This program helps students focus on letting go of the past and building a healthy and stable future serving God and people. I would recommend this program for any woman or man struggling with addiction and seeking help!

I would take my two Yorkies to Pet Smart for grooming, normally on Sat Fri mornings as I have a soft heart for rescues which are at Pet Smart on Saturdays. Didn't work Ms Stone was there when we picked up the boys after there grooming. I had a look at the dogs she had there and saw a beautiful little blond Brussels Griffon/Pekingnese mix she had named Champaign. After talking with Ms Stone about Champaign and her story we made an agreement to adopt the dog but not until Ms Stone had made a visit to my home making sure that Champaign would be safe and in good hands. I was invited to the location where she kept the rescues so. I was able to see how the animals are treated and kept. I was extremely satisfied by the way Ms Stone made sure how all her animal in her care are placed in forever homes. My only complaint is the name Champaign, please. After changing her name to Cinders short for Cinderella or Cinderoo and four years later we are now living in San Diego with Cinders, Ramsey and Gatsby. I'm very happy that Ms Stone took the extra time and love to make sure Cinders and all of her rescues are placed in good home. I would rather see good homes mistakenly rejected then to see one animal put into another bad home where the animal could be harmed. Thank you Anita for alowing me to share my life with Cinders.

I have seen firsthand the lasting impact our outdoor trips have on the participants and their families. I hear and see how appreciative and humbled these individuals are to have these opportunities.

Charming Pet Rescue is amazing at connecting the adopter to the perfect dog or cat! They have an amazing senior program, from which I have adopted a dog through, that helps seniors who want a companion by paying all the bills for the senior dog or cat that they are paired with! It’s an amazing program and more amazing rescue!

Bullies 4 The Brave 501(c)(3) was founded in 2016 in memory and honor of Alexander Nathanial Conley{08/31/94~02/07/2016}. Our mission is to heal heroes with canine companions, battle buddies, to stop the suicide epidemic among our heroes. B4TB is completely free of charge to activate duty, veterans and first responders in need of a battle buddy companion. Olde English Bulldogges are bred, raised and socialized for health, temperament and intelligence right here in our small kennel. We also help rescue the OEB breed from shelters to rehabilitate and home with our heroes.

This is a great English Setter rescue group. I have adopted 2 of my dogs through them. I was also able to foster another dog and find him a wonderful home. They work non-stop to help animals in need.

As a CPA and member of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, I have been continually impressed with the outstanding quality and integrity of the financial aspects of Morningside Ministries. The financial staff--from CFO and throughout the organization--do exceptional work. The most recent independent audit was "squeaky-clean." Every prior recommendation for improvements in internal controls was implemented successfully. It was the quality of the financial reporting that helped convince me to join the Board and help contribute to Morningside's continuing success. Some of the senior managers have family members resident at Morningside, and my own mother has reserved a space. The quality and efficiency of the organization are outstanding. Morningside is one of only two nonprofit senior care organizations in the region, and keeps it's service mission first and foremost. It is worthy of our support.

This non-profit is administered by a man who is a liar and does not treat his fellow man as he would want to be treated. He purports this to be a "Christian" counseling service, but it as far from Christian as black is from white. Do not be fooled.

This is a wonderful charity that has worked hard to maintain a beautiful little one room school house as they also provide a rural community center for locals to share. They are now working on a facility upgrade that will provide ADA access to the little school and also build ADA bathrooms in an outside building. The school was built at its current location in 1887 and it means a lot to the people of Pleasant Valley. Please find it in your hearts to give.
