I am a 51 year old woman living with CF and I have a 31 year old son and I have been married to the same man for 35 years we have been through hell and back including living in a camper from October 2022 to May 2023 and that is in New York state .we have a Mobile home/trailer that is in a trailer park.

Every day beautiful, intelligent and sensitive baby apes fall prey of the illegal wildlife trade. Their mothers killed while they try to protect their adored babies. These stories break my heart. But PASA gives me hope. With each rescue and rehabilitation of these precious apes, I feel a little goodness restored to the world. The determined loving dedication of PASA's sanctuaries' staff renews my trust in human beings. I have been a monthly donor for several years and have put PASA in my will. Bravo PASA!

Ncompass is a wonderful organization. I have been involved with it for over 10 years now, and i have seen the organization change the lives of countless individuals. From children in Haiti to young men in detention centers turning their lives around. <br>It is truly a non-profit that is hard-working and is committed to its mission.

As an ordained minister, I had many options for pursuing a chaplaincy program, and I am deeply grateful that I chose the Chaplaincy Institute. The variety of classes, the interfaith perspective, and the stellar faculty have made my experience, thus far, extraordinary. There is a depth to every class that has managed to capture my interest and expand my skillset and knowledge base. The added bonus is getting to know other students who are on a similar path. We meet every other week with our cohort and there is so much love and support, as well as deep dialogue and sharing. Everyone is authentic, loving, and supportive. Lastly, I want to add that the availability of the staff is phenomenal; everyone from the Dean, my academic advisor, the Community Minister, and the Administrative Specialist all work together to create an atmosphere that is conducive to our learning experience and success.

I was an meth addict with no hope. Good Samaritan Ministries picked me up and held on to me for 3 years until i finally agreed to go to a GSM supported treatment center in the Holy Land. After coming home I volunteered at the office and helped in many ways. GSM changed my life and saved my life. They brought me to the Lord, baptised me and my family and helped heal my past. Bettie Mitchell, married my husband and I and we have spent many years going to Family Therapy Camp, along with many other Bible Classes and groups. We donate every month to GSM because we give to the Lord that way. We are so grateful to have been made whole, and to now be Samaritans!!! We love you GSM!!! ♡

I was introduced to Eve's Daughters through our church. I had gone through a divorce and felt very alone with little support in the area. Eve's Daughters was a place that I could go and not feel like I was going through the journey on my own and could develop a support system with other women going through a similar experience. Although, I started out as a mom attending the monthly dinners and various parenting workshops; I ended up volunteering as well. I wanted to give back in some way. I also volunteer at the annual art fundraiser. It feels so good to help other women going through the tough and challenging transition of divorce and solo parenting. Eve's Daughters is a blessing, and a much needed support system for single moms!

I had a chance to help create a short video about WAVES and Lobitos a few years ago. My experience with everyone involved in the organization was nothing short of world class. The people at WAVES genuinely care about their mission, the kids, and continue to keep their long term vision in mind. It is the combined efforts of organizations like this around thew world that will slowly help plant educational seeds in the minds of the kids that will someday be running these communities.

Freedom from Hunger really makes a difference in the lives of so many women around the world. With a very small staff, they reach over 5 million people. When you support a woman to escape poverty and hunger, you are also helping her to feed her children, keep them in school and give them a good future. I give to Freedom from Hunger because I know that even a small donation makes a real tangible difference in the lives of so many women. Their model of delivering education and financial services to groups of women is simply a really effective and efficient tool for poverty alleviation.

I started fostering for Indigo Rescue from Jan 2012. Their mission of saving/rescuing animals is very clear. I find Heather Hines, founder and executive director to be very focused on the best care and goal oriented to each and every animal which is very refreshing. Neither does Heather nor I believe in shortcuts for the care of animals. The veterninary care that the fosters receive is superb. Feels wonderful to find a like minded organization.

Update October, 2017 - Our numbers increase yearly, the need continues. This year will exceed clothing 25,000 since this program was established. "These ladies make magic happen," according to the children served. We serve the children identified by the counselors as those in most need. Our members are all volunteers who step up everything to transform lives and strengthen the communities we serve. We have no paid staff. I've been involved with this non profit since its inception. We are 100% volunteer organization that chooses partners in Ethiopia who are changing the lives of the orphans and vulnerable kids they support. We are not involved with adoption. We do not run any programs, but are "project based" fulfilling concrete needs. EOR team members travel in country every 2 years to check on projects.

This group has been producing free outdoor Shakespeare plays since 2016. The actors are incredibly professional and hilarious! I always enjoy their plays, and volunteering is a sheer joy. Highly recommend.

When I was 10, my dad said I could buy a horse but I had to sell my sheep. We had a neighbor who ran cattle in Nevada and bought mustangs to train and use with the cattle. He loved kids and taught me many things about horses. That was the beginning of many years of horse ownership. When I retired at 55, the budget wouldn't support a horse so I sold my horse and tack. I wanted to give back and started searching for volunteer opportunities.<br /><br />Little did I know that a newspaper article about Forward Stride would lead to such a wonderful experience and fulfill my need to work with horses.<br /><br />I started with Forward Stride in November 2009 doing pm horse care to become familiar with the horses. Eventually I moved on to side walking, leading, and long lining in Forward Stride's rehabilitation Services program. As time has gone by, I have become more involved with a variety of projects and duties. Today, I am at Forward Stride 6 hours a day, 4 days a week.<br /><br />It is nice to see some clients return year after year and their improvement. I enjoy checking in with them to see how they're doing. Forward Stride gives me the opportunity to take lessons, which helps support the organization and gives me tools to improve my riding thus enjoying my time riding even more. There is nothing better to me than the smell of a horse. Any time I'm feeling down I know that spending time with a horse will boost my morale. I've made many special friends who have become my family. My experiences at the barn have given me the confidence I never really had.<br /><br />I am so excited to be a part of Forward Stride as it moves forward. I can't imagine my life without this wonderful organization.<br /><br />It's my dream volunteer job. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning. Knowing that I am helping others is very rewarding and I will continue to be part of this community as long as I'm able.<br />

My I/DD kids participate in sport programs year round and it provides awesome opportunities for socialization, teamwork, exercise, trying new things, making new friends. It has been a very supportive and positive environment for learning!

Moments of Joy at HomePlate<br>Making connections with youth in my community is one of my inspirations. I am a Senior Social Work Major at Pacific University. This year I will spend at least 440 hours volunteering for HomePlate Youth Services. After interviewing with several agencies for my practicum placement, I chose HomePlate&ndash; the only outreach team and drop-in resource center for youth experiencing housing instability in Washington County. HomePlate is special because they are a low-barrier, safe space for youth in the community to access necessary resources like a hot meal, shower, clothes, job resources, tutoring and more. <br><br>My favorite moments have come from Wednesday night drop-ins when I get to share a meal and provide homework tutoring for the youth. Early in October, one of the girls asked me to help her with a persuasive essay. As I was reading over it, she told me English was her second language, and her teacher had set a goal for her to improve from 5th grade to high school writing level by the end of the school year. We worked tirelessly on the essay together and after three weeks of work, she turned in her paper and got an A. The way she persevered through learning to write a persuasive essay in a second language serves as an inspiration to me. It&rsquo;s these seemingly simple moments of joy which have meant the most to me.<br><br>When asked, &ldquo;What does HomePlate mean to you?&rdquo; One of our youth responded, &ldquo;&ldquo;HomePlate cares for you and helps you find jobs and if you are having troubles they make sure they help you.&rdquo; I couldn&rsquo;t summarize it better, myself. HomePlate&rsquo;s vision is to meet youth where they are. They have been providing services and consistency for youth in Washington County for ten years. This is probably the best church I have been to even though I only went for Christian Challenge it was a great experience and the things we talked about were amazingly eye opening like other churches' don't really do. I like how much that they listen to people and just to know that there are actually people who care and want to share Christianity through strength and wisdom.

After donating I received a wonderful letter detailing exactly where my dollars went. I couldn't be more thrilled with the transparency.

This is truly a neighborhood effort to provide food for hungry families. Sharon, who has run it for many years, is a bright spirit of helping others. They need volunteers and operating space and equipment. It is a great place to give back to the community.
