It is an awful reality to have your fur baby sick by your side and you're late at night with many opened tabs: comparing vet costs, filling out for care credits, recalculating personal budgets and actually looking up the much dreaded euthanasia as the worst case scenario option. FTLOA was on a list of nonprofits that I found and not the only one I filled out an application for -- but it was the only org who had let me know they could help, with so much action-based compassion that to this day, exceeded my expectations. I remember putting in the pre-app on a Thursday after taking my cat Moomoo for initial diagnostics and medication for a huge abdominal lump that came on and ruptured out of nowhere, and then next thing I know, I was invited to fill out the 2nd app on the following Monday that includes uploading proof of my financial situation. About an hour later after 2nd app submission, Carla from FTLOA reached out and let me know FTLOA will take on Moomoo's case. My family and I finally cried some tears of relief - instead of hopelessness - that day.

Carla from FTLOA was / is there for Moomoo and me every step of the way, always so quick to respond via text or phone call to help me with the next steps for Moomoo's care and checking in on Moomoo in general. If it weren't for FTLOA, I would have had to take a wait and see approach, not being able to afford more diagnostics or surgery for Moomoo's condition on my own and never really having a peace of mind. Luckily, my cat's condition did not need a surgery in the end, thanks to funds from the donors of FTLOA covering the additional diagnostics and medication.

I love that it is also in FTLOA's mission to have donors get to know every pet helped: there is so much love all around. Seeing the shares and reading people's comments for Moomoo on Facebook or the donor's wall really shows that people do care. Thank you team at FTLOA and donors of FTLOA for being there for Moomoo and trusting our bond: it will forever mean the world to us. When I personally am no longer in the financial bind that I am in, I look forward to being part of the FTLOA donor community. I trust the team at FTLOA -- with their incredible compassion and the quick mobilization of resources -- will continue to bring hope to many low-income fur parents and companions, for decades to come.
