I’m so entirely grateful for the good people at the Autism Spectrum Foundation. The autism diagnosis process is nuanced and rocky road. Sometimes it feels like roadblock after roadblock, disappointment after disappointment. It’s easy to fall into slopes of hopelessness and depression while trying to put on a brave face for your child. It’s even harder because I believe children on the spectrum feel the inner workings of their parents even more than any other children. But the autism spectrum foundation has given me hope and a much needed spurt of optimism that I so much desperately needed. Sometimes it’s not just about the money but it’s just knowing that others care and are willing to take action for your and your child’s experience. This process can be very isolating as this is an invisible disability but I’m so grateful that my family feels seen and heard. Thank you!
