Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Autism, Disabilities, Health

Mission: The goal of ASDF is to support children with an autism spectrum disorder by providing information, education and financial assistance to their families and relevant community service organizations. Funds donated to ASDF will be used to address any and all kinds of issues in assisting children with autism and their families. By providing financial assistance to families and autism-specific organizations, together we are able to give autistic children and their families the resources they need to grow. In the past seven years, ASDF has provided direct financial assistance to over 2,150 families who have children on the autism spectrum. The financial assistance went for camp scholarships, iPads for children who are nonverbal, swimming lessons, horse therapy lessons and holiday gift cards. During the same period of time, we provided autism awareness information to approximately 2,478,000 new mothers across the United States through our autism awareness program.

Programs: The foundation educates the public about autism; provides families tools and educational materials to assist in the early detection of autism as well as tools to treat children suffering from autism; and provides families of people suffering from autism with information on programs available to assist them. The foundation provides financial assistance to the families and relevent community service organizations that help people suffering from autism.

I am director of two organizations in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I am so very grateful for the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation. The School where I am Executive Director has relied repeatedly on this organization to fill the gap with students' families face unexpected crises that hit their budget hard. Because of this organization, I have been able to tell many families that their child can continue in school because we know where to seek help. Because of ASDF many students have been able to have the kind of summer services that allow them to continue to learn and grow and develop during the long summer months. The other organization that I direct has summer camps and respite services for families. Many children who do not have the means to pay for summer camps where they work on critical social, communication and life skills are able to attend. I am so proud to be associated with this organization. Again and again, they have stepped up for the families I serve and they have allowed me to be in a position to use all the resources available to them to help their children reach their full potential.

We are so grateful for The Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation. Because of their generous grants and scholarships we have indivu all come to summer camp who could never afford it. In addition, this year they have supported one of our families at The Bridge of Georgia with tuition so that they can put him at our school. We are thankful for a foundation helping us that genuinely seems to understand the heart of the communities we serve.

Blessings!

Thank you so much to the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation for granting my daughter Melissa a scholarship to attend equine therapy at Leap of Faith Acres in Hudson, FL. The setting is beautiful and serene, and brought a big smile to her face. Jennifer and her staff are caring and patient. Melissa loved every minute of it and we are looking forward to all future visits. It is just an all around wonderful experience.

I want to thank Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation Inc. for their generous contribution to Camp Odakoda. I have been a counselor at Camp Odakoda since 2013. It is an incredible place, for kids on the spectrum, to come and be themselves, have fun and make connections with other kids. I am so thankful for kind organizations such as theirs who make such a huge impact not only on the campers but on the families of these children and counselors as well. Thank you for your support!!! We could not do what we do with out you!

Thank you very much for helping our Isabella receive equine therapy at Leap of Faith Acres in Hudson Florida. This is such a unique and awesome therapy that our Isabella has never had before. Isabella has Down Syndrome and Autism, and her Autism is challenging at times. She absolutely squeals with delight when she wakes up and knows it is "Horse" day! This gives her the necessary sensory input she is craving, and pushes her to do more and relaxes her too. Jennifer Shade is awesome at what she does there and she truly loves and enjoys what she does, it shows!

This organization is like magic. I live and work in Central Oregon as a psychologist. Our community is fairly remote due to mountains and a vast desert yet we have a rapidly growing population. ASDF has been incredibly supportive and responsive to our communities needs by making an incredible donation that will allow us to bring an overnight camp to Central Oregon. This camp will reach 40 youth with ASD this summer and we have plans to grow. Thanks to ASDF we will be able to get it off the ground this summer, a year sooner than we hoped at one point. I know once camp is off the ground the local community will wrap around us to ensure sustainability. Thank you for believing in our community and our ASD kids and families!

I contacted the Autism spectrum Disorder Foundation for help for the holiday season in 2017. They were such a big help i have 2 kids on the spectrum between always going to appointments and therapy money is always low thanks to the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation i was actually able to give my kids a real christmas. I really appreciate all that they did to help and the fact they did not treat my kids like they were beneath them we get that enough in our community so thank you again to the foundation

We appreciate the generous scholarship ASDF provided for our Equine Therapy Program this Spring of 2018. This foundation made it possible for 10 children with autism to receive 12 weeks of therapeutic riding & equine assisted learning. This therapy is NOT covered by insurance and these families could not of otherwise been able to participate. We are so thankful for ASDF!

I run a summer camp for kids and teens with ASD. I have had the honor of partnering with ASDF for the last seven years or so. They have sponsored so many campers over the years and have made this experience possible for so many. Because of their generosity, we have never had to turn a camper away for financial reasons. This year we are launching a new program to open up 40 new camper spots. ASDF has been instrumental in getting this program off the ground. I am so thankful and blessed to receive funds from ASDF. Many of our campers lives are changes because of the generosity of this organization. Thank you so much for all you do!!! To watch a quick video about our camp, visit www.asdoregon.org

I run a small summer camp in Oregon for kids and teens with ASD. We are a small organization and always make it a goal to keep our camp affordable to families. We have never had to turn away a child for financial reasons thanks to our great partners including ASDF. They always go above and beyond to help us. Since we are such a small organization, there have been times when a need arises and we do not know how we will fill. ASDF has been there for us for the last 3 years and made it possible for many kids to come to camp! I am so grateful that they share my commitment and love for this population of kids. I am truly blessed to receive support from ASDF!

I am a special education teacher in a small, rural community. I teach summer school and contacted the Austism Spectrum Disorder Foundation about helping to fund my students getting to do some aquatic therapies in our city's swimming pool. Thanks to them we will get to go simming each day of summer school. This is a great foundation!

I have to say THANK YOU so very much for the help we received from ASDF. It was so wonderful to see that someone out in the Autism community cares as there are so many Autism Organizations that will not help like the say they will. We have a 16 year old high functioning PDD-NOS with ADHD son and unfortunately we had to use bills and mortgage money to pay for food for him because our local Snap office was incorrectly adding the incomes for the past year and we were getting under $100 a month when we should have been receiving $250. But we cannot get any of that back. Well because I had to feed him what could I do. Thank goodness for ASDF and their generosity and willingness to help. We are still behind in our mortgage, and utilities but this has helped tremendously and I have given them all some gotten them all to work with us. Thank you so much. God Bless everyone who donates to ASDF so they can help families in need. I pray that more organizations become more willing to help.

Thank you so much for the gift card you gifted our family. We are a couple with three children diagnosed with autism. There are many days when one child’s autism symptoms frustrate another child. We call it the “Miller Domino.” Your generosity has given us the opportunity to provide entertainment in another location within our home. Being able to separate our kiddos during those “Rough” times makes a huge difference in the amount of stress my husband and I must endure. Thank you so much for giving us a much needed break.

My 2 ASD children, Aiden and Olivia, had the best Christmas thanks to your generosity! Its the 1st year I've been unable to provide and they were looking at no presents under the tree. They're great kids and expect nothing, but for a parent unable to provide, this giftcard program SAVED Christmas for them! I cried over being able to get them coats and gloves and pants that fit. And to be able to get Aiden something for roleplaying has already gotten him interacting more! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! You guys are amazing! May God Bless you all in this season and year to come!
