For families seen at our Medical Center the ability to purchase an iPad for their child especially when newly diagnosed can be a sacrifice. The Keeping Kids Connected program has provided iPads for our patients regularly allowing them to receive home schooling when hospitalized, stay connected to their peers, and provide entertainment. Patients regularly bring the iPads with them for long outpatient visits and infusions.

Working in the hospital setting, I have witnessed the support and assistance families receive from the very start of the burn survivors recovery. Children's Burn Foundation collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide the best outcomes for the child by assisting with things such as food vouchers, emergency funding, and garments.

The support groups offered post hospitalization provide the burn survivor, their siblings, and parents the opportunity to connect with others that understand their experiences and the opportunity to heal emotionally.
