I am sooo glad that, "For the Love of Alex", came into my life when it did. My 1/2 Siamese and 1/2 Persian 8 1/2 year old Munchkin kitty named Willow started having problems urinating. She started urinating all over the house so I ended up taking her to the vet and they said she had a UTI and gave her a shot, did some blood work and sent her on her way. Well needless to say I got a phone call stating she had high Calcium levels and that she needed to see a specialized doctor for this. I then took her to my main vet and they said it could be cancer due to elevated Calcium levels and told me I had to get an x-ray and come to find out she had a large bladder stone. The high Calcium levels are just something that Willow has but not cancer. The vet put her on a specialized diet and gave her a shot to combat the bacteria that the stone was causing. I was told to wait 30 days to see if it would dissolve which it did not. I brought her back and they gave her another shot for the bacteria and to come back in 21 days. Willow and I showed up at the vet and re-did her x-ray which still showed the stone. She was then put on the schedule for pretests to make sure she was healthy enough for surgery. She passed! A week later I whisked her away to the vet for surgery and mid afternoon the vet tech called and said that there were two stones lodged in her ureathra and they didn't know if they were going to get them out and may have to put her down. With many prayers I got the call that the surgery was successful, however, due to how extensive the surgery was they were going to keep her overnight to monitor. I was able to pick her up and she is doing amazing. If it wasn't for the kindness and generosity of, "For the Love of Alex", I would of lost my furry child Willow. I live on very limited means and she is the world to me and I will never be able to say , "Thank You", enough for everything they have done for Willow and I. Absolutely amazing people.
