A horse I knew was confiscated from a horrific starvation/neglect situation with 26 other equines and 17 goats. Zander, a Friesian, wound up at Red Bell Run. When I learned where he was, I asked if I could come see him and Red Bell Run graciously said yes.. I was given a tour of the entire sanctuary. What a peaceful and beautiful setting; what a dedicated, knowledgeable staff. Red Bell Run also has educational programs for kids like Reading with the Minis- children go into the mini barn and sit and read a book to the horses. Some of them-the horses- really seem to pay attention and like the reading. I have introduced several children to the programs and 2 are actually volunteers there now. I went to Grune hiedi Farm when I was in the area on vacation a couple of years ago. Loved the set-up. Everything was clean and uncluttered. Met Erika, She is a warm, personable girl and she very obviously loves her animals and is passionate about her cause. Lean more towards the Saddlebreds than Arabs, but all her horses were beautiful, clean and well kept. Some day when the right horse comes along, I will adopt one from her... In the meantime, i send a small monthly donation... The picture is of me with two of Grune Hiedi horses.
