Review for Learning Help Centers Of Charlotte, Charlotte, NC, USA
My first year as a board member with LHCC has been an eye-opening glimpse into the good that committed on-the-ground leadership can accomplish, even under unprecedented circumstances. When COVID limited opportunities for in-person tutoring and volunteering, Director Brent Morris led a pivot to providing meals for families in a time of hardship. As we were able to transition back to more in-person interactions, the organization provided learning support for students still limited to the online learning model. At the same time, a vision for longer-term growth was hatched with our exciting Kinship Kitchen initiative.
Our annual summer camp was a success in keeping children engaged mentally, physically, and spiritually and I was proud to be able to contribute to that. The community that has been established by LHCC is inspiring and I've seen first hand that this is one non-profit that truly lives its values.
