Our family has received support from the coalition in so many ways. Our children really benefit from connecting with other kids in military families. My daughter once said to me "mom, I don't know any other military kids. My friends don't understand." We live in the Midwest where there isn't a large, visible military population. America's little helpers has helped my kids connect to other military kids and not feel like they are alone and that there are other families going through similar things. The same can be said for the Caregiver alliance as well. It creates a network of people who understand and are supportive in such a meaningful way. The coalition may not be the largest veteran organization yet, but their advantage is that they can provide more personalized support than some of the larger organizations where you can feel like just a number. The Coalition took the time to get to know the needs of our family and offer support. We really appreciate them!

Our military kids was so easy to work with. The grant has provided a creative and athletic outlet for our kids and has helped increase socialization and confidence and decrease anxiety. It has truly been such a blessing. Sports are expensive especially for military families living on a fixed income due to combat injuries. Our military kids has provided a beacon of light, a sense of normalcy and so much more for not just our kids but our whole family. A huge THANK YOU to those who have donated to make these grants possible and to Our Military Kids who have provided an athletic outlet and so much more for our kids.
