Our Military Kids (OKM) brings wonderful support to the lives of military children, making a meaningful impact both quantitatively and qualitatively. I am truly grateful that all three of my children have received an OKM grant. Each child has discovered a sport, lesson, or class that allows them to celebrate their unique identities.
Life can be particularly challenging for military children, especially for those who serve as "Hidden Helpers," caring for parent(s) who are catastrophically injured or ill after their service. My children are Hidden Helpers for their dad.
As Hidden Helpers, these children often feel isolated. Due to their parents' oftentimes limited financial resources and time, many extracurricular activities can be out of reach. However, OKM lightens this load for families. Their generous grants empower children like mine to engage in activities they love, fostering confidence and joy in their lives.
We have been blessed beyond all measure to have Our Military Kids in our corner! The entire team is incredible, and Kara Dallman seeks to make true change with the funding OKM receives. It's an amazing organization!
As a member of a military family, I cannot overstate the positive impact Our Military Kids, Inc. has had on our lives. Navigating recovery for a disabled veteran and the emotional and mental challenges for children is a difficult process. This nonprofit stepped in with practical, heartfelt support that truly made a difference.
We received multiple grants that allowed our children to participate in extracurricular activities that not only provided structure and joy but also built confidence and connection during a time when they needed it most. Three of our children participated in martial arts—an outlet that helped them improve focus, coordination, and resilience. As a parent, it was a tremendous relief to see our kids smiling and growing instead of feeling isolated or left behind due to the demands of daily struggles.

During my husband's third overseas deployment, we found out about Our Military Kids. Both of our sons are in their high school's highly competitive marching band. The band fees for one year were over $700 each! Thankfully, we only had a small portion left once our sons received their grants from Our Military Kids. This was a huge financial relief and stress relief during this deployment. We are so thankful! Our mellophone playing junior and snare drum playing freshman enjoyed every minute! Their dad came home in time to see the end of their marching season that year.

Ariyana has thrived in her therapeutic horse riding lessons. She is excited to practice her skills each week. Ariyana was adopted from foster care and struggles with separation, behaviors, and was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago. With her dad deployed and not being able to see him or talk to him every day, her behaviors have increased at home and school. Being able to connect to a horse and feel empowered while navigating such a powerful animal has given Ariyana confidence and boosted her self-awareness. We are so thankful for this opportunity to get Ariyana involved in an activity she loves. Without this grant, it would be financially difficult with the loss of my husband's civilian pay, and taking a pay cut while deployed. We are very thankful for the generosity of this organization and the donors.
OMK allowed my daughter the opportunity to participate in all-star cheerleading over the past several months. My daughter’s confidence and joy has significantly improved because of this experience. Truly grateful for OMK!
I learned about Our Military Kids at our Yellow Ribbon event prior to deploying/mobilizing for over a year to Washington DC. (We live in OH). My daughter is three and loves to dance and dress up as a ballerina. This grant has gone towards her Tap/Dance classes at a nearby dance studio each week. This is an amazing nonprofit that helps get kids motivated and active while their loved one is away.

I am a Reservist who was activated with an RPA squadron over last summer. My girls were able to attend a summer day camp with the grant provided by funders with OMK. The camp provided continuity of care, stability for the girls, and a fun day every single day. They had field trips to skate, bowl, martial arts, and tumbling. They were loved and cared for by educators from their school because of this grant and amazing organization.
I was able to enroll both my boys in to swim class while dad is on a deployment. It has given us something to look forward to! We are grateful to have recieved this grant.
OMK is an amazing organization that serves a segment of military kids that can't always access traditional resources while their parent is deployed. They have been very responsive to communication, are so organized and make the kids feel VERY special! Can't say enough about them!

Knowing that my kids were so excited to do something fun and were greeted in the mail as a recipient was one of their top highlights while I was deployed! I submitted an application for my son to attend a 10 week baseball clinic to help train him to be ready for tryouts for his middle school baseball team. The process was simple and quick. He is currently in his 4th week of baseball and learning so much.

Our Military Kids was quick to help when my daughter, Sophie (lovingly nicknamed Roo), requested to participate in tumbling classes while her dad served overseas for a year. With the funding, she was able to receive one on one instruction which has excelled her tumbling abilities and she is now more than prepared for middle school cheerleading tryouts. Our Military Kids is supportive, encouraging, and resourceful at providing our family with support through deployment. We have also enjoyed the online cooking classes as an extra Military Kids benefit. We are so fortunate to have received extra support to keep Sophie active and engaged while her dad serves.
We have had the opprotunity to recieve two grants for each of our older kids. Deployments are hard and the grants helped relieve some of the stress as well as bring joy to my kids. We are very thankful for the help and kindness of Miltary Kids.
Our military kids has been a wonderful organization for my boys. Sports allowed them to connect with other kids and find an outlet for their emotions. Being a combat wounded military family is tough and sports has allowed them that avenue they needed and for our family a lot of that would not of been made possible without our military kids. Playing sports also allowed my husband (and I) to connect with our kids on another level as we were both athletes prior to the military. Our oldest son now wants to pursue high level soccer as he enters high school next year all thanks to the start we were able to provide through the grants my kids were given.

I have known of Our Military Kids for years but finally applied this year. Once I got what I needed to apply, it was such a simple process. It has been so wonderful to watch all three of my boys do soccer. I am really grateful a organization like Our Military Kids exists because it has blessed our kids so much, and created a sense of normalcy in our lives where we don’t have a lot due to my husbands injuries.

I applied for a grant from this organization for my girls to do ballet and gymnastics while their dad is overseas serving for the year. Our military kids responsed SO quickly and sent the girls a necklace, a bracelet, a patch, a sticker, a handwritten note, an award with their name on it. It was so incredibly sweet and we are so thankful for “Our Military Kids!”

Thank you so much! Our Military Kids made it possible for my 7 year old twins to attend the Pleasant Oaks Equestrian Summer Camp 2022 in GA while I was deployed to Europe. They had a great time throughout a week of riding lessons, horse grooming, and care. The camp took place halfway through my deployment and provided an amazing/educational experience, helping them cope with me being gone.
We are so grateful for this organization! Our three year old daughter, Willow, was able to start swimming lessons after receiving her grant! It is such a gift because swimming lessons can be quite expensive. Our kids have been begging to go swimming all Summer, but it was so hard for just myself to bring two toddlers anywhere (and scary). Now Willow is swimming weekly, and with the relief of her grant, I was able to afford swimming lessons for our two year old son to swim as well. They don't have to go without swimming all Summer, and they are learning how to be safe with it too. These parents are very grateful for the opportunity!
Our only daughter of 4yrs old had the opportunity to share with other kids and learn ballet/tap tap after I took her out of pre-k for the pandemic. She was super happy of making friends, learn, this was a incredible experience for her and not even talk about her Recital where she danced with her Dad. Our Military Kids, Inc. is great for helping kids of military members that are deployed and I truly appreciate that because the families of those that are deployed are truly sacrificing for our country as well. They are having to live part of their life without their deployed family member and that is not easy. My kids are dealing with their father deployed and the grant they received from Our Military Kids, Inc. enabled them to spend a week at camp during his deployment. During that week they were able to have lots of fun and it helped them build the resiliency they need to make it through this difficult time.
My daughter was afforded the opportunity to attend a summer dance camp because of the grant she received through Our Military Kids. She had a fun filled week where she got to do what she loved and meet new friends while forging lifelong memories. We are truly grateful for all the supporters who helped this happen.
Our Military Kids has supported my family tremendously emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially by providing us the opportunity to enroll our children in various sports throughout the years that my husband has been deployed on orders. Sports incorporated into my children's lives have helped them develop and grow in character, socially, and as contributing members of society as they keep busy while their "dad is at work." It helps them not to constantly worry about their dad, but to stay focused, release stress, and most of all have fun while participating in their sports.
Normally, this is the time that I see my children the happiest. So, it is with great appreciation and gratitude that I would like to express from the bottom of my heart to all those at Our Military Kids, sponsors, donors, and everyone in between and behind the scenes that have contributed in some way to make this happen for my children (and the other award recipients).
I have 3 children that have benefitted from this program. Without it, they would not be able to participate in after school activities. My husband is permanently disabled and I am his caretaker.
I cannot say enough about what a gift this has been to our family. This past year my oldest participated in a swim club. He has a lot of anxiety and it's always been hard for him to participate in team sports. After a few practices, he told us that being in the water is where he feels totally free.

Our daughter has been wanting to take a summer camp cooking class for years. Our Military Kids was able to make that happen. She learned new skills, socialized with peers and tasted new foods. This program allows kids to get off the couch on summer break and enrich their minds. Thank you donors!
My son has received a grant through Our Military Kids on two separate occasions while his dad has been deployed. It is been a huge blessing to us to receive the donation for our son to participate in extracurricular sports. It helps for children to be involved in activities while their parent is away. 3 of my kids got the grant and they used it for Wrestling. All 3 got to advance to the state tournament. Nolan got 5th, Zoey didn't place, and Preston didn't place, but he had fun. Zoey was on her way to wrestle for 5th and 6th place but she lost that match by 1 point.
With Military kids all three of my sons are able to participate in martial arts. The application process was short and the total turn around was only about a week. I truly appreciate this opportunity for our kids to try new things this summer while we wait for their daddy's return.

The support offered by the organization has helped to provide an outlet for my daughter while I am mobilized. She is an avid tumbler and has had to undergo several environment changes including having only one full-time parent. The generosity of the program allows her to continue to engage in an activity she loves!
We are so grateful to Our Military Kids Inc. for their program. Without them my kids will never have the opportunity to learn swimming. Because of this program my kids learned a skill that made them comfortable and do activities in the water.

There are many stresses that come with deployments. The obvious ones are time away, missing birthdays/holidays, but many people don't know about the financial burden deployments can also have on families. Our Military Kids blessed us with grants for both our kids and made it so that we were able to send both of them to week-long camps. My wife is going to be able to get a bit of a break while they're at camp and my kids will be with their friends having a great time, not having to think about Dad being gone. We really do appreciate this organization and their support.

Our five girls love to do artistic rollerskating. Skating is something for them to hold on to and focus on through difficult times. Unfortunately, the costs were too much and it was decided that they would stop, until friends shared about Our Military Kids. I couldn’t believe it. This organization immediately responded and reached out, introducing themselves and it shocked me that they were so personable and kind. These scholarships allowed all five girls to continue skating, something they love to do!!

Our family has benefited greatly from this program, as my husband is currently serving on a one year-plus deployment to Iraq. We have 8 children, 5 of which are age-eligible for this program and have utilized it for ballet, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and summer camps. We are incredibly grateful for the gift of being able to do these activities while he is away. It truly makes the deployment much more bearable for the kids, and gives them something exciting to look forward to. It was extremely easy to apply and the grant funds were sent so quickly. When a parent is deployed, it is so helpful for the kids to be busy and be involved with more activities that they enjoy but this can be costly. I am currently deployed and my wife is at home taking care of our 4 year old along with a very demanding work schedule. We wanted to find a good quality program that we could enroll our daughter in that was fun and educational but also affordable. We found the perfect summer camp that would allow my wife to work the hours she needed, but it was more expensive then what we usually paid for during the year. We applied for a grant through Our Military Kids Inc and within 2 weeks it had been approved with a check in the mail! Our daughter is now enrolled in a summer camp that is fun and educational and keeps her mind engaged while I am deployed and my wife is working. Amazing program and outstanding support for our deployed service members!
This has helped us alot. They always loved gymnastics and tumbling! We didn't think we could this this time around, but we got the top secret package! I think we was all excited! The owner wanted my youngest to be on her team even. It's a little more advanced class, so when we got this , it was some pressure off! Thank you!!!

Our Military Kids provided the funding for my son to take a gladiator training class at a gym in our town. My son is super excited to go every week and is learning more about balance, strength, and agility. A phenomenal organization that supports military families during deployments and the road to recovery. We are so grateful for the grants towards our daughters karate tuition. They both love attending and have learned so many valuable lessons during their training. Karate has been a wonderful outlet for them while their dad continues to recover from his many health issues. During this last deployment, our kids were able to participate in jiu jitsu training with their grant from Our Military Kids. This was an amazing way for our kids and their Dad to stay connected as he also trained while overseas. Being able to share something like jiu jitsu over thousands of miles away helped keep us integrated in each other’s day to day happenings, which was such a huge positive.
I am so grateful that our Family Readiness team helped me find Our Military Kids! My boys got to attend an amazing sports camp that they absolutely love. It truly helped us in a difficult time.

I found out about Our Military Kids from the Wounded Warrior Foundation. After serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom I sought treatment and continue to receive care from the VA. Our Military Kids have given my children the opportunity to pursue their sports while also letting me focus on healing. Every Saturday morning my kids and I head to swimming lessons. It’s been one of the highlights of their weekends while their Dad is deployed. Thank you for your grant and helping my kids participate in this activity!
Military Kids has allowed me to do Ballet which helps me to get stronger and practice the movements I need to work on to get better. So I can move on to more harder moves that I have never done before, and it helps me with musicality to hear the music when I am dancing and all these things are how ballet helps me.

Our Military Kids Inc has been a fantastic resource! It was fairly simple to fill out the application. We did receive a grant to help pay for my daughters cheer program.
My daughter was excited when the envelope arrived. She was excited to have something just for her. There was a note from the donor and a postcard so my daughter could thank the donor.
I am so grateful that my children are able to participate in this program! It provides them with an opportunity to be recognized for the sacrifice they make having a parent in the military. It’s heartwarming that people are willing to donate to help military kids be recognized.
Our Military kids has helped my family with their generous donations explore new life enriching talents while our soldier is deployed. My oldest was able to learn guitar while my youngest learned how to play piano and partake in his first public recital.

This program has been great for my son! My son was awarded two scholarships to put towards his swimming lessons while his dad has been deployed. We were blessed to have received multiple grants from OMK! Three of my four children revived these grants while their father was deployed for the year. It has given them the opportunity to swim, play sports, have a personal trainer and learn more about nutrition at our local YMCA. My husband is currently deployed with the Army. My son and myself enjoy doing Kempo karate together in the town that we live in. When I saw Our Military Kids, I knew u had to apply for the grant. It has helped immensely. Thank you so much to the donors and our Military Kids for all that you do!
Military Kids is such a blessing! By providing the grant money for our children, we were able to sign both of them up for summer camp, which can get pricey. This deployment has been really difficult on our eldest (7), but he had the biggest smile on his face when he received the certificate, dog tag, & letter thanking him and his brother (5) for their service as military children. It really made them feel special, and their father and I are truly grateful for the assistance.
My husband is currently deployed for 9 months. It’s been the hardest for my 5 year old. She loves to dance and when I learned about the grant I put in an application for her. The application process was extremely easy. She was so excited when her acceptance package came! The package is so well done with the small goodies included. She proudly wore her dog tag the next day exclaiming to anyone who would listen that she’s a military kid! She cannot wait to start dance next month and to show her dad all that she will learn! Our Military Kids was so generous, helping my step son go to summer band camp while his dad is away on deployment!
My husband was medically retired in 2018 and has since qualified as wounded, ill and injured. I, also a veteran, became his caregiver, which added to my already full plate of responsibilities as a homeschool mom and part-time mental health counselor. It did not take long for this new role to take its toll on my health and I, too, began to have significant health problems that affected our home and daily life. Since 2018, our children have had to deal with the hardship of not just an ill Dad, whose conditions have caused them to experience secondary PTSD but also a Mom whose health condition deteriorated to the point where they had to learn to become caregivers themselves. OMK has been a great support during this time as my children have benefited from multiple grants that have opened doors to them in activities such as violin and piano lessons, gymnastics and track. If that was not enough, we have had the pleasure to take part in events out together by OMK, which have given us the opportunity to get to know the staff… to our children, the staff are like family. In a situation like ours, very few people understand where we are in life… OMK gets it. The love, support and encouragement they pour over military kids and families makes a huge difference in the lives of these kids and families. We are so grateful for our relationship with OMK!
My husband is deployed for 1 year and OMK provided grants that paid for a resident summer camp and horseback lessons for my oldest, and so far a day camp for my youngest! This is an incredible organization that provides opportunities we otherwise wouldn’t have had. This will help pass the time while we are waiting!
This was one of the best experiences of my life. I met the best college basketball team, players, and coach. I watched them practice and got autographs. I made new friends and stayed on campus multiple nights getting a taste of college life and it was so fun. Thank you so much for making this dream come true.
My husband was sent to Germany for 3 months and I tried to keep my boys involved in their activities while he was away. The grant that they received helped keep them in martial arts classes and they received a new rank because of it. It was a true confidence builder for both of them!
Our Military Kids has been amazing to our family. With their help, my 2 daughters have had the opportunity to be involved with several sports and tutoring programs that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to attend. These creative outlets are incredibly important, especially for children of severely wounded veterans. We are very grateful to this organization and all of the amazing donors for their generous donations. It truly means the world to our family.
Huge thank you to OMK for the ways that they step up to help our children. Our family is a really tightly bonded one, and it is usually difficult to not have “daddy” at home. OMK and their grants makes it extremely easier to manage the distance by giving our children the opportunity to engage in activities they love! My two kids have learned Spanish, and now enjoying summer camp, entirely because of the generosity and kindness of Our Military Kids, and their donors. I won’t let my kids forget the grants they received, and hope they will be donating one day.
It's hard when little ones are left behind and a parent goes on deployment. Summer can be especially hard since school is out and routines change. With the help of our grants we received enough to pay for camp three weeks of June. My son has had a blast at sports camp, superhero camp, and adventure camp. These camps were at his preschool, which he loved even more since he knows the teachers and had friends in camp. We are so grateful for this experience and generosity from people and organizations. My son has really benefited from these activities and always has something fun to tell daddy about when he calls.
When my husband told me he was deploying and would be gone for a year I had no clue how I was going to entertain our 4 children for that long and the money that goes into activities. Then one day while scrolling the FRG page I found out about Our Military Kids program. I was very thankful to be able to have assistance with paying for the activities that are a much needed distraction for my children till their dad returns. My youngest (5) has enrolled in gymnastics and is working on a hand stand to show her dad. My middle two (11 and 12) were able to participate in summer camp and soccer. The oldest (15) has been able to work on his fitness with football camp. This program has been heaven sent and a blessing to our family. The process was so easy and the package they send the children makes them so special.
My daughter has been doing karate since she was three. For seven years she went to karate with her Daddy and trained alongside him. When her dad deployed, she wasn't sure she wanted to continue karate since it was something she did with her dad. Our Military Kid's sponsoring her to continue karate while he was deployed made her feel proud that her dad was still with her in spirit. She was able to reach her Third Degree Advanced Junior Black Belt while he was gone because she felt that a piece of the military community supported her. We are grateful for the opportunity.

allowing our kids to participate in extracurricular activities and having some type of normalcy despite the impact of living with a parent suffering from combat-related injuries. Our son and daughter enjoy hockey and cheer and are honored to represent the military community in their respective sports. We’ve been blessed by Our Military Kids several times! Our first deployment they provided the opportunity for our kids to try Taekwondo together. It was a a needed sense of structure and support during a difficult time. Our 2nd deployment was 2020 and we were struggling to find activities for them, but we finally got some of them into some of the activities they’d been dying to try. Thanks to those grants we now have an avid musician who now teaches guitar to her siblings and has moved up to violin. A daughter who finally got to realize her dream of riding horses and is now working towards barrel racing. Our oldest was really struggling and missing cross country but was able to do virtual races. And another found some sweet equine therapy riding with her sister. Covid brought another deployment this year which enabled the kids to continue developing their new passions and 2 more of our boys got their first grant to begin music lessons. We are beyond grateful for the opportunities that these grants provide as it’s such a struggle with a large family. Thank you! Thank you! These grants change lives and families!

Our Military Kids has been a blessing for our family. The support staff are quick and responsive with questions we had and helped us through the application process. In addition, the response to acceptance was very quick. Not only was our family provided with grants, one for each of our children, but the grants came with gifts. The children were given a card, certificate and more. These small things made my children cry, knowing that others care so much about our family and what they have been through. Overall, the grants are supporting our children with extracurricular activities. Without these grants, our children may not have been able to continue with these activities. I did not know about this nonprofit until I learned about it through deployment readiness training. As a reservist, the most difficult part of being mobilized is the family separation and knowing that sacrifices that the kids have to make. This program recognizes that, and the grants they offer make a big difference. My two boys, ten and seven, are taking piano lessons thanks to Our Military Kids. During our video chats they often play for me to show me how they are progressing. It is very uplifting to know that something good came to them out of my deployment.
This is the most user friendly organization I have ever worked with and I was so honored to be blessed during my deployment by their gifts! It allowed my family to participate in events and sports that we otherwise could not have afforded as a single income family of four kids. It allowed my kids to have activities that made my time away more bearable. Thank you Military Kids!!!
It is really helpful that my children could attend extracurricular activities for ease while I'm away. For sure, the military kids makes easier for my family to make decisions sending my kids participating in the activities like swimming and gymnastics.

What a great organization! Really made us feel appreciated while my husband was deployed and helped ease the burden of an extremely expensive and busy sports season for our household . Our Military Kids is an excellent organization. My husband is currently deployed overseas and sent me a link to check into the program. The staff quickly responded to our inquiries and were so helpful in completing the grant process and getting my kids into the activities they were interested in quickly. My kids were overjoyed at the opportunity to get involved in art lessons, ballet, and guitar lessons and it was especially helpful during our family's current separation. We are so thankful opportunities like this exist! They certainly help make the burden of a long deployment a little bit lighter.

Our Military Kids Inc. has been a wonderful support to our family. We have 2 little girls (5 & 7) who have been exploring new activities in the past year. They were able to attend summer camp because of the generous grant from this organization. After being in virtual school, the opportunity to attend camp in person meant more than ever! I have 3 kids. one 17 year old girl in ballet, 4 year girl old in ballet and 11 year old boy who is also mild autism. Our experience is been great my kids love their activities and help them to do something different than be at hospital or staying at home.

This program is excellent ! The staff is friendly and helpful. I was able to provide my child with tutoring, while I was away on a deployment. Our Military Kids funds children with an opportunity to learn and grow.
After an entire school year of remote learning, our boys were pretty sad about social distancing. Their father is a disabled army veteran with service-connected Multiple Sclerosis; there were times he is out of work due to relapses. As we are trying to pay off the debt accumulated during these times and make repairs to our home, Military Kids afforded us the opportunity to have our children participate in much needed activities. They looked forward to weekends so they could attend their multi-sports program. It was absolutely a memorable Spring for them.
Our military Kids provided a grant for my son to get speech therapy and for my daughters to attend a day camp. It was a blessing to be provided for and a special treat while my husband was deployed.
Our Military Kids is a wonderful organization that provided a grant to help pay for my daughter's gymnastics classes. The grant provided offered us the ability to extend my daughter's school activities for a few more weeks which gave me the much-needed break since we don't live near any family to help and gave my daughter something to look forward to. They have continued to follow up and offer great resources for military children. I often recommend their services to so many families and it's a blessing that this organization is there to help families.

My husband is deployed with the National Guard, and it's been hard on our two kids. I applied for grants from Our Military Kids to help pay for their violin and taekwondo classes while their dad is away. Not only did the grant money give us a little wiggle room in our budget, but the grants came with certificates of appreciation, dog tags, and hand-written notes from donors for each of my children. My daughter Eliana was really struggling with her father's first deployment. We found Karate to be a great activity for her to participate in. Through the incredible Military Kids Inc, Eliana has been able to continue to participate in Karate, learning important self defense techniques, but most importantly she has gained self confidence with the help of her Sensei. Our family is beyond thankful to Military Kids Inc for the amazing opportunity our daughter Eliana has been given.
Wow! I'm currently deployed with the USAF and was told about Our Military Kids by my flight commander. I submitted my daughter for a gift for her horse riding lessons. A couple of weeks later my wife told me the check had arrived. It was very easy to submit and the reward is phenomenal. My daughter will get horse riding lessons for a couple months thanks to Our Military Kids and their benefactors. Please support this wonderful organization.

I could not be more thankful for Our Military Kids. While my husband is deployed, I am a single mom to a 2 and 4 year old. Our life is crazy busy and at times very stressful. My daughter has always wanted to try dance out, but putting her in full day preschool and dance would have put some strain on the finances. Luckily, she was able to receive an activities grant from Our Military Kids that covered an entire year of dance class. She LOVES going to dance and it keeps her mind off of missing daddy. It also gives me a chance to run an errand or two. The application process was really easy and their communication about everything has been wonderful. We are truly blessed and can't thank Our Military Kids enough.
Our Military kids is an amazing organization. While my husband was deployed to Kuwait, our children both received grants so that they could keep busy with activities. While being deployed I submitted a request for a grant to help my kids participate in an after-school activity-the submission process was so easy. Our Military Kids directly supports children with deployed soldier parents. My husband is deployed for 12 months and my 3 young children received grants which paid for dance, soccer, and a week at summer camp. The process for me to apply was so easy (thank you). Our contact person was so responsive to my emails (within hours) and helped me with questions. I had the checks within 2.5 weeks of applying for the grants. When our girls got their packets with the grant checks - they lit up as they opened a hand written card, their own “dog tags” like daddy’s that they wear every single day, a personalized certificate which they display in their bedrooms, a bracelet, and patch which they have added to their collection of daddy’s military patches now that the Army uniforms have Velcro patches. It was so personal and my husband and I really appreciate the support and care that is delivered in this program. 12 months is a very long time for children to be separated from their parents and we really feel that this program has helped us all. It takes some financial pressure off of us and it lets our girls do some activities that help them “be kids” and get through these difficult months until he gets home. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You really are supporting military families when you donate to this program.
We applied for a swimming grant for our military child. The process was simple, everyone I worked with was incredibly kind and they when above and beyond when they sent all sorts of additional goodies for my child to celebrate him.
This organization is amazing for all the kids that have a loved one deployed. They made my daughter so happy she was able to dance!
He left in the middle of the night in December, during a pandemic. No yellow ribbon, no FRG, no holiday four-days. The letters that this group sent with the scholarship grant were almost more valuable than the money. Somebody finally made my kids feel important, finally recognized them for sacrificing their dad for a year. I love this charity!
Our Military Kids helps our Kids with soccer grants and support military kids across the nation. It is so nice that kids get a chance to be involved in extra curricular activities and get this support for this amazing nonprofit. They truly care about our children and make a difference!

As a mother of two little ones it was very important to keep them busy during my husband’s 10 month deployment. We were so grateful for Military Kids and their donors to allow us to take advantage of funding for two activities!

OMK represents an exceptional charity that gives the children of deployed and severely wounded veterans activity grants to achieve a sense of normal during traumatic times. As my family endured some of our darkest hours due to a severe combat injury, our children were able to participate in horse riding lessons, gymnastics, swimming, and karate--all events we could not otherwise afford for three children. Thanks to OMK grants, our children have happy memories beside the difficult ones that help mitigate the fear, stress, and trauma of living through the consequences of their parent's military service.
My son has recently gotten into motocross racing. This is a unique and not as popular as normal kid activities such as football, baseball, gymnastics, etc… we were unsure if this activity would qualify for our son, but this organization approved his grant so that he can continue to train in this sport. It’s great knowing the variety of events this organization supports! We can’t say thank you enough!!!

What a wonderful mission! My children were able to attend a summer camp and ballet lessons while their dad was deployed overseas. It helps tremendously to have something they enjoy to focus on and interact with others. The application process was smooth, and the staff very helpful.
My son had received a grant for this organization and the envelope came with a certificate and a dog tag as well. He is scheduled for his indoor swimming lessons. He was so proud of receiving it and is very happy. Little things like these can brighten up a family's day. He wears his little dog tag every day to school. Our Military Kids Inc helped our family send the kids to summer camp when I was headed out on a deployment. The process was fast and simple, they really made a tough situation a bit easier by providing the kids with a great summer experience.

Our military kids allowed our 6 year old daughter to try out gymnastics. She absolutely loves it and is so excited to show her dad all her new tricks when he returns home!
I'm so happy someone told my husband about this charity. Deployment brings many challenges and emotions for the kids to navigate. My responsibilities doubled. Being able to sign them up for activities they love gave them some normalcy and gave me a little break. The kids felt special with their welcome packages. My husband was deployed for most of 2021 and the grant from this organization allowed us to continue participating in swim lessons while he was gone. It was both a financial gift and also a gift of peace of mind for me that my children didn’t have to miss out on yet another thing because their dad was gone.
Our military kids was so easy to work with. The grant has provided a creative and athletic outlet for our kids and has helped increase socialization and confidence and decrease anxiety. It has truly been such a blessing. Sports are expensive especially for military families living on a fixed income due to combat injuries. Our military kids has provided a beacon of light, a sense of normalcy and so much more for not just our kids but our whole family. Our family is so grateful for the Military Kids program! Anytime a parent is absent, the family struggles. Military Kids offered our family a weekly outlet, a distraction from the constant awareness someone isn't home. Our boys were gifted a chance to take ice skating and soccer lessons, an experience tailored to their individual personalities. The process to apply was simple, straight forward and SO FAST! Our boys STILL talk about the gift they received from Military Kids! They enjoyed their lessons so much and it has challenged them all to continue experiencing other things and staying active.
Our Military Kids has helped my daughter to continue to swim competitively. Our Military Kids provide my family with additional financial support to help my daughter reach her goal, stay fit, and stay out of trouble. Twice Our Military Kids has blessed our family by giving my kids a fun outlet when their daddy deployed. It is the best and we are so thankful! This year horseback riding. Last time PlayBall. Love it!
My current deployment has been tough on my family. Coupled with the pandemic it has put many stressors on my 2 little ones and my wife. Being able to apply and receive two grants for both of my children helped ease the financial stress but more importantly the mental and physical toll that deployments have on the entire family. Seeing my kids start karate for the first time and go to a math activities lab twice a week has made a huge impact on this difficult time. The folks at our military kids have been extremely helpful, very expedient, and are one of the best charitable organizations I can think of.
This year is our family’s 1st experience of a deployment overseas. My husband is currently in Iraq on a 400+day order. We have 2 kids (a 3 y/o boy and a 5 y/o girl). Our kids love to be active and as we all know, extracurriculars are not cheap. When the Family Support Group of the NMANG informed me of this program, we immediately applied and got approved. My daughter had a value that contributed to her karate gymnastics class for almost 2 full seasons. Thank you to this non-profit group! Any little bit helps especially when our loved one is physically absent for such a long duration. These extracurricular activities that Our Military Kids Inc. offer assistance for helps the time go by a little faster!
At the end of the summer season, her karate gymnastics class (half karate based and half gymnastics based), all the students demonstrated their board breaking skills! So cute!
This was a very smooth process and our son got to experience music lessons because of this wonderful organization.

Our Military Kids has been wonderful! We have had the pleasure of getting a grant for our daughter twice now, for two different deployments, and one for our son. The grants really give peace of mind to the financial aspect of activities, so you can focus on supporting your kids during a time of need.

The process was so easy and when the grant was approved, they sent a special certificate and goodies to my kids. It made them feel very special. My children have received grants from OMK so they could participate in Taekwondo classes. Their father is a wounded warrior who suffers from mental illness. It was a godsend for our children to have a home away from home at Taekwondo. I could not have afforded to send them to the school without the assistance of OMK.
Our Military Kids has been so wonderful to our family. My son played football, my oldest daughter did gymnastics, and my baby girl is doing jujitsu!! Without the help from them this would not be possible. We appreciate all the wonderful donors who make this happen.
This fantastic charity makes things easy and has a real tangible impact on military families. During my military deployment, our 4 kids were able to participate in numerous activities as a result of grants from Our Military Kids. These activities helped them take their mind off missing a parent for a year and get out to interact with other kids. The benefitted greatly from the sense of normalcy and it helped me knowing they were staying active. They also sent care packages to the kids which made them feel special for being the son/daughter of someone actively serving across the world. After 15 years in the military and several year-long overseas combat deployments, this is by far the most impactful organization for my family.
We were go grateful for the financial help to let our boys get to experience some fun activities while their dad was deployed! It helped make the time go faster by keeping us all busy and didn't put a financial strain on us. The process was easy and so worth it! Thanks again!
Deployments are hard on everyone but especially hard on the kids! Thanks to Our Military Kids my kids don't have to miss a beat with the sports they love and I don't have to worry about how we will afford that on top of everything else!

I'm a severely injured medically retired Military Police SSG that has PTSD, TBI, and Bi-polar. OMK has never let my kid down on funding from the generous donors that back them that back us. It has taken stress an anxiety away from some of the burdens I create do to my disorders by helping with financial support and inspiration that people and companies do care about the sacrifice that was given and pay it forward time and time again. OMK is by far one of the greatest organizations that help families like mine and hope others will follow in there path they have taken that was the least less traveled. Thank you for all you do.
The staff is amazing and the process couldn't have been easier. My kids got to learn how to golf from a pro! They had so much fun! I'm SO glad that organizations like this exist.
Our Military Kids has given my daughter an opportunity to participate in competitive cheer. Their grant is a significant financial help and my daughter is so grateful to have the support to be able to participate in a sport that she loves. My husband who is not able to run around with her due to injuries received while in service, has enjoyed the opportunity to see her being able to be physically active in a sport she loves. She has also developed close friendships and has wonderful role models to look up to in her program. Ever better is that her cheer gym is owned by a military family who understands first hand the needs of military children. money shouldn’t be a reason why a child can’t participate in a sport they love and Our Military Kids allows children to achieve their goal of being part of a team. I would totally recommend this great program to any military family with children.

I wasn't aware of Our Military Kids until I was researching for resources for military families after my husband was deployed earlier this year. I'm so happy I found them because they granted my two older children, allowing them to participate in a 2 week STEM and Robotics class over the summer. They had so much fun and talked about what they learned and built. Without Our Military Kids, my children wouldn't have been able to enjoy that course and give me some free time as well. During each of my husband's deployments, my daughters received grants for piano lessons. Thanks to Our MILITARY Kids my son Anthony joined and tried Martial Arts in a local center. He discovered that hi loves this sport and this relieves all emotions during me being on a 9 months deployed.
Thanks to the grant it made this deployment easier to handle. He is now busy on Saturday on his Taekwondo class and doing his best.
My husband was deployed for 8 months. It was our third deployment with the Reserves, but the first one for our three kids (ages 13, 10, and 8). We only had two weeks notice of the deployment, which created a bit of chaos for us. Our Military Kids grants allowed our kids to do some extra activities during the deployment to keep their minds busy and engaged.
My husband has been deployed since October 2020. It has been a very busy time without him, but we have managed, and with the assistance of Our Military Kids, been able to enroll our children in different after-school programs. Our Military Kids has provided a way for my children to participate in karate, swimming, and football - all sports that would have been difficult for us to manage financially. We are so thankful for this organization and the support it lends!

Our Military Kid as a blessing to my family this summer. Being place on deployment orders means missing time with your family. The funds we received for my daughters summer camp was a huge help in a rough time. The funds allowed us as parents ensure that our girls could enjoy a fun and normal summer and a distraction from the roller coaster of emotions present when a parent deploys. This a great charity that supports my children. The grants they offer are exactly as advertised. In just a few weeks my son received his grant for swim team and it was one less thing that my wife had to worry about while I was deployed. The grant also came with little dog tags and a certificate. My son wore the dog tags every day while I was gone.
My kids were able to take private swim lessons with their grant money and improved so much with that individual attention compared to the previous year of group swim lessons! We love our military kids!
This nonprofit organization has been a tremendous blessing to our family. Big part of what they do is that they show kids of deployed parents that their sacrifice is recognized. It means a lot for our kids as they read those letters of appreciation! Our Military Kids is an incredibly wonderful organization that makes a huge impact on the lives of Military Kids and families while parents are deployed. During my husband's current deployment, they blessed 4 of my kids with the opportunity to play club soccer. This may seem like a small thing, but the long lasting impact of having something to focus on as well as distract them while Dad is gone has been amazing. They get to be part of a soccer family, with coaches who care about them, with teammates who welcome them, and parents to cheer them on. They get to do this while being active and healthy. This opportunity given to them, not only helps build skills in soccer, but it helps with their mental headspace, and their feelings of loneliness and fear while Dad serves in the Middle East. We love Our Military Kids. This organization supported our girls with dance tuition while their father was deployed over seas twice. They both do competition dance so having the extra support was nice. The girls loved opening their packets with all the extras as well. We are so thankful for this organization.

We are a recovering USMC family, yes I say "we" because these injuries not only effect the service member but our whole family. My AFRC disbursed an email about this organization while i was away, they sent my son a care package with a handful of items that he still proudly wears! Not only that, but my son was given a grant to help offset the cost of his hockey program!! It was a bit of relief that was nice once I got home and back to normal life again! OMK has helped ease the burden of extra curricular activity costs while my husband was deployed! We’re a national guard family, and I’m sure we’re not alone when saying we take a pay cut when my husband is put on orders. For a few weeks, we can make do. But a year long deployment is much more difficult. OMK helped cover costs for dance and softball for two of our children while their dad was away! It was one less thing I had to worry about, financially, in his absence! This is a wonderful organization that truly cares about the military kid! Application process is easy, and customer service is great!

My daughters have experienced the dark sides of their father being a Special Forces soldier and suffered parental child abuse due to his severe PTSD caught on video. After his guilty plea, I was left picking up the pieces and healing my young daughters. This program gave them that outlet to express their emotions and trauma in an appropriate and healthy manner in art classes. They are progressing in their healing and are safe now. They are empowered by this program as it is one of the ONLY programs taking care of the children of military families. Thank you so much for helping the children persevere and for helping them enjoy their childhood.
Our Military Kids is phenomenal. Their grant has been HUGE to making the time away from her father less difficult for my daughter. Our Military Kids has been amazing! I have two teen age boys and their dad is deployed this year for 10 months to Africa. It's a hard time in their life to have their dad gone, but OMK has made the separation a bit easier by providing grants for my kids. It helped pay for them to attend a church camp this summer in Colorado and also to play on a basketball league this winter. The time has been more bearable with these activities. We are so very grateful that they helped make it possible for them.
We have 3 girls that applied and were aproved for this grant. During this time things get hard and its so nice to be able to keep them involved in doing something they love. They all participate in gymnastics and this grant covered several months of tuition.

When I left active duty and my son's father went into the Reserves, we thought our days of deployments were behind us. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I applied for this amazing grant for my kiddos, but I can tell you that I was amazed! From the time I applied to the time my daughters received their special "Top Secret" folders in the mail was only a 2 week time span! My girls were thrilled with everything that they received! It made them feel very special during such a hard time.

I cannot say enough good things about Our Military Kids! Extracurricular activities are always important, but even more so for military kids who are often times, missing a part of their family. By being able to participate in these activities, my kids are often excited to share what they are doing when they get to speak to their dad.
We are so grateful for the support that Our Military Kids has provided to use. My daughter was able to go to summer camp for the first time and continue to take piano lessons. I know she's happier and flourishing socially and academically because of it. Thanks Our Military Kids and all the donors!

This is an amazing organization! My daughter received a grant for her dance classes - which are her escape from the "new normal" of COVID while dealing with her dad being deployed for the 3rd time in her life. No deployment is easy, but today's times make this one incredibly difficult. These grants has definitely been a blessing. My son received a grant for his taekwondo classes. He has a goal of getting his yellow belt before his dad comes home, which he is well on his way! The application process is straightforward, and the staff I've interacted with have been so warm and helpful. I love that the grant it written out directly to the organizations - no waiting for a check to clear to write another one. My daughter was able to take it to class, turn in her grant and show off her certificate. It was really special to watch her be able to do that. My son was also so excited to share with his class his certificate, and very happy to "pay himself" for his classes. Thank you so much for everything!
Our Military Kids has provided three grants for my daughter to take horse back riding lessons. They also gave us tickets to be able to attend the International Horse Show one year. Lillie has been able to expand her horsemanship skills because of the grants she's been given. We both are very grateful for the assistance they have provided.
Our Military Kids has been so wonderful to our family! They have helped our boys take music lessons while their dad is deployed. With four active boys, currently unable to go to school, they really look forward to their lessons, seeing their teachers and having fun with music! We are so grateful and humbled to have been gifted this opportunity for our boys.
Both of my girls were able to take lessons of their choice during their Dads current deployment to Afghanistan. They miss him dearly and it means a lot to have support from an organization that cares for military kids that give up their precious time with the ones they love.

This is a great nonprofit that helps families with deployed loved ones. My children have greatly benefited from their service. They provided scholarships that allowed my children to take part in activities that kept their mind off daddy being away for such a long time.

Receiving a grant from Our Military Kids is helping my child be active while my husband is deployed. It has been very nice to have a fun activity (ballet dance) for her to do to help pass the time he is away.
They truly care for military kids and support them when they most need it. When their dad is deployed the youngest family members seem to suffer the most and this organization provides relief. They paid for my sons to start gymnastics which allows them a safe place to have fun and meet new friends.
Our Military Kids, Inc. extracurricular activity grant has been such a blessing to our family! What a nice distraction piano lessons have been to help our daughter through her struggles during my husband's deployment. Our piano studio instructors were so impressed with the organization's grant, that they even offered to cover the remaining balance for the semester in appreciation of our sacrifice as a family and the effort Alyssa has been putting forth toward her musical studies. The kindness and gratuity provided by this grant is very much appreciated!
OUR military kids have been so great to work with and we are so grateful for the opportunities it afforded our kids that would have been very difficult or impossible with our income to afford.
Not only has this grant helped financially to contribute to our children's sports activities, it has given my daughters a sense of accomplishment when the grant approval packet arrives. Our Military Kids Inc has been amazing to our family. As a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, I am currently deployed to the Middle East. Our Military Kids granted a grant to each of my three daughters for them to continue their martial arts classes while I am deployed. With Our Military Kids, my children have received 2 grants each to participate in programs while their Dad is deployed. By enrolling my children in programs we would not normally be able to cover, I have seen my children smile and be proud of themselves in their achievements. Our daughter who was scared to put her face in the water, is now swimming with no assistance, putting her head underwater, floating on her back and front. she has made tremendous strides in swimming. My son, is working on his strokes, going underwater , swimming with assistance, and has also moved up a level after just a month. Thank you for providing this grant to my family, my children are so happy.
we have also received a grant for my children to get skating lessons. they are making so many improvements, and are able to learn how to skate, something that their father enjoys. my children are happy to enjoy and learn how to do something their dad has loved to do his whole life. they are excited to be in a different environment, to do things on their own, and seeing them listen to their coaches and repeat directions has shown so many sides of my children. Thank you for helping my children gain a sense of happiness during this year while their father is away.

Our Military Kids was an amazing origination to work with that benefited my family while I was away mobilized in support of a National Pandemic. Their processing of our request for a grant was extremely and I mean extremely fast! Not only did they help my son stay active in a sport he loves over the summer, the extra touch of sending a certificate, a special mask and some other goodies made my Son feel very special as a Military Kid!

My son has not seen his dad in many months and misses him immensely. The grant he received, went to his Jiu Jitsu classes that he very much enjoys but are obviously costly. Nonprofits like our military kids help to keep children of deployed, or wounded soldiers, active and healthy with extra support as they deal with the difficulties of deployment or missing a parent. In our case, the grant money also helped a small business keep their doors open with enrollment. We appreciate the generosity and are grateful for such community support.
I can not say enough about Our Military Kids. I am in awe of the generosity of this organization while my husband is serving in Kuwait. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making Gymnastics possible for my 6yr old daughter. She absolutely loves this sport, and looks forward to it every week.

My husband is a disabled veteran with a physical disability and OMK has been a true blessing in our lives. Our kids ages 12, 7, and 3 have been able to learn new skills and participate in different activities that we could have not been possible without the support of this wonderful organization. Our military community and or severe disabled veterans are fortunate to have people who care and support and working diligently to provide such wonderful opportunities for our military kids.
I am so thankful for Our Military Kids. Deployment is tough and the separation is long. Our family is so thankful for the grants our children received. One child was able to take a summer advanced literature class, another was able to Wrestle for his sophomore year, and the youngest two were able to have their annual Cub Scout dues covered. What a gift to be able to have our kids participate in extracurricular activities without any financial impact on our family. It was one less thing to worry about during an already stressful season. We had a GREAT experience with Our Military Kids! While my husband was deployed my kids (4&6) were able to have several months of gymnastics covered. Being able to be in a group activity helped them tremendously while daddy was gone. A lot of things were closed (includingour local parks) due to Covid. They needed to be able to socialize with other kids and have an outlet.
We are a proud military Family and we are beyond grateful especially durning this pandemic what the donors and Our Military Kids inc have been able to provide to my family.
I am AIRFORCE and their father is army, we have 5 children and it can get tough allowing them all to participate in the extra activities of their choice but this year was so different THANKS TO OUR MILITARY KIDS INC.
Because of this nonprofit our 8 year old son is able to do swimming, our 9 year old son is able to do coding and our 4 year old daughter can do ballet.
They are beyond excited for these are activities that they themselves have chosen and I can say yes to them with the help of this nonprofit.

At the time of my husband's first deployment, my daughter wanted to take piano lessons. We had no idea what to expect financially with the deployment and didn't want to commit to lessons in case we couldn't afford to continue them. She received a grant through Our Military Kids and began lessons immediately. She has continued lessons for the past eight years and we are forever grateful that she was given this opportunity. She has recently received another OMK grant which will provide lessons throughout her senior year. OMK has been a tremendous help to our family.

My husband was deployed to Kuwait for almost a year, leaving in October of 2012. As my two daughters and I settled into a new routine, school and educational activities occupied much of our time. As summer approached, I began to worry about the overwhelming responsibilities of being sole caregiver all day, every day throughout the summer. I feared the "newness" of summer vacation would wear off quickly and I'd be stressed trying to find ways to entertain the girls while never getting a break from the burden. Then we learned of Our Military Kids. What a lifesaver for ALL of us! Our oldest daughter received a grant to take piano lessons and our younger daughter received a scholarship to attend three weeks of gymnastics camp. I was excited for their opportunity to try something new; activities we couldn't have afforded otherwise. My husband was happy knowing that while the girls were at supervised activities, I received a short respite, reducing my stress and improving my well-being.
Thanks for making our daughter a little happier while her dad is gone! She loves to dance and will be doing so with a smile!!!
OMK is awesome! Their program grants allowed my daughter to learn ballet and my son got to try TBall. They are having so much fun and it helps distract them while my husband is deployed. We are incredibly grateful for the work they do!

Second, this grant supports a local jiu jitsu academy stay in business and a head coach that is dedicated to empowering young children with self confidence. Our Military Kids gave my daughter a much needed distraction as she settled in with family in another state while I completed training to deploy. The grant we received covered the cost of ballet classes, and allowed my 3 year old to be a little girl and dance with friends. I love the videos I've gotten of her practices! I am so thankful that OMK was easy to connect with and simple to apply to; I got almost immediate responses on numerous occasions during the application and awarding stage.

Our oldest is now in college and plays football. OMK hlgave him his very first grant when he was 8 years old and helped him get started. He is now a high level collegiate athlete. If it wasn’t for OMK we are not sure when or if we could have got him on the field.
Our oldest daughter has been the recipient of an OMK scholarship as well as a bike. Her first bike came from OMK. She was able to cheer and get horse lessons. This last weekend she competed in her first rodeo.

This non profit was so incredibly generous and enabled my 5 children to attend camps and lessons we couldn’t otherwise afford. It’s very difficult having their daddy deployed but the extra scholarships gave them an incredible blessing they wouldn’t have otherwise.
Wonderful nonprofit organization! Our Military Kids Inc allowed my two children (ages 7 and 5) to attend a daytime camp this past summer while their dad was deployed overseas. Enlisted military families often live paycheck to paycheck; my children wouldn’t have been afforded this amazing opportunity if it hadn’t been for Our Military Kids Inc. Instead of dwelling on missing their dad, my children spent their days swimming, crafting, playing kickball, and making new friends. As a “single mom,” I, in turn, got a breather while the kids were at camp.
Our Military Kids allowed our twins to participate in after school activities of their interest. We would not have been able to afford these classes without this program. The process was easy, and the representatives were very kind and understanding. I am very thankful to have been given the opportunity to qualify.
During my husband's deployment last year, 6 of my children were able to receive grants from Our Military Kids for their sports and driver's ed. It was such a blessing to not have to budget for these things during that time. The process was very easy and my children felt so special being honored as military kids.

Our Military Kids organization is awesome! We have 4 kids (the oldest is 9 and the youngest is 18 months old). My husband recently deployed to Afghanistan with the Air-force. We have no nearby family where we live. Because of “Our Military Kids,” my eldest three children were able to try a new Krav Maga self defense class, which has boosted their confidence and helped maintain their physical fitness level. You see, prior to the deployment, it was their daddy that would spend the most time with them exercising by taking them running. This class was able to “fill his shoes” so to speak until he returned. The kids have enjoyed the classes so much, they wanted to continue after he returned. Thank you “Our Military Kids” for this opportunity and for your support to military families. This program is amazing. It is hard enough for kids to adjust to one parent being deployed. Their grants help families keep their routine and focus on programs for their kids without worrying about the financial need. The application process is easy, and their customer service and people who work their are more than helpful and responsive with any questions. I love this organization.

Military Kids Inc. helped my daughter come out of her shell.
My daughter had a bad experience girl scouts. Just not having a good time- because of the 'click' troops, the organization wasn't challenging enough, nor did it's activities hold much interest for her. Need less to say, she quit.
She was already quite introverted. It was hard enough being in the military that we've had to move several time, so staying in one troop consistently was impossible.
We've only recently made our residency permanent. Giving her a chance to develop a normal life.
Last year was the start of the Boy Scout organization letting girls participate. She immediately found an accepting and helpful troop that pushed her into a healthy social environment.
Because my daughter hadn't been accumulating donations from previous years of fundraising participation, like the boys, everything she wanted to participate came out of our pockets. The merit badge classes have been fairly cheap, $5-$10. But when summer camp came, $500! I didn't know what to do.
Thankfully someone told us about Military Kids Inc. They covered almost the entire cost and she was able to fund-raise the rest.
That summer event was the most influential for her development of social normatives. Basically, she was the happiest I have ever seen her. She wasn't shy anymore. She had friends she could rely on and she knew her place in the world.
We could not have sent her to summer camp without the help of Military Kids Inc.
My husband has been in the National Guard since we were dating and we have been married going on thirteen years now and have three children.
We were so happy to use the Our Military Kids Program last year when my husband was deployed overseas. My daughter wanted to take ballet lessons and the program payed for more than half of the year of her classes and some of the additional fees. It was such a blessing to be able to save that money by using the Military Kids Program.

Our Military Kids is an exceptional organization! I deployed for 14 months away from a 10 year old and six year old and Our Military Kids provide BOTH kids with an opportunity to participate in Jui Jitzu while I was gone. The gym they attend has become a home away from home and the community has embraced my kids in my absence. It's given them other adults to inspire and direct them too. The funds provided by Our Military Kids was EXTREMELY helpful in a tight situation due to extra child care cost with me being gone so it was a welcomed gift. I can't say enough great things about the people that work there too, their attention to detail and their willingness to work with me to make this happen! We keep out kids busy with sports, both school and club, to make new friends, gain college athletics scholarship advantages, and basically keep their minds off of me being gone all the time with the military. It can get expensive quick! OMK Inc. has come through for my kids at times when we thought we could not.

This deployment couldn't have come at a worse time for our 15 year old son. At a time when he was struggling socially and emotionally, I knew he needed to attend a residential summer camp surrounded by Christ filled counselors, positive vibes and nature. However, those camps do not come cheap. With Our Military Kids scholarship money, what would normally be a financial strain, became attainable. The $300 grant helped so much, that we were able to find it in our budget to send him for two full weeks!! When I picked him up, he was rejuvenated and had a confidence that I hadn't seen in months. We are truly blessed and forever grateful to Our Military Kids for this opportunity!!!
Our Military Kids was amazing during my husband’s recent deployment. There are so many unknown financial things that come up during a deployment, and knowing that my daughter’s gymnastics class was paid for by a generous donor made that part of our lives so much less stressful.
During a really rough time this charity really brightened my child's life. Father was deploying at the beginning of the summer (later was injured) and this charity paid in full for camp invention. I was given the grant for the last few years of my dance career. I was able to do all the dance I wanted, without worrying about if we were going to afford the payment. My dad is retired Army and I know he was happy to see me happy doing something I loved. This grant made my afternoons full of joy instead of boredom that can lead to trouble. Now I’m a service member and hope that this company can be showcased for all the good that they created.

Our Military Kids helped us out more than once with fees associated with football and marching band. Participating in these activities all four years of high school have allowed our son, and us as well, become part of both a fantastic athletic community and an amazing band family in our small district. Years ago, my husband didn't even want to leave the house, felt no purpose, hated crowds and felt unsafe, and was in physical pain. Now he's motivated to attend every football game and band competition to show support, and volunteers his time as a Band Dad, building props and chaperoning trips, spending what precious time we have left with a HS senior building memories, and making up for lost time when he was active duty. Paul is the only one of our boys that remembers dad being in the Army, dad deploying. Thanks to OMK helping us that very first year let him do both activities, they've been able to bond in their own way, from learning about Jazz in New Orleans or recording Disney scores in the studio in Disneyland, to playing teams in California and Washington (and seeing Paul's beloved UW Huskies play!). These activities have also kept our son a well-rounded student these last four years, he's in the National Honor Society, and even met his girlfriend, a fellow mellophone player, freshman year marching. OMK helps create a ripple effect when they give kids a place to engage in activities they love.

OUR MILITARY KIDS, YOU ARE FABULOUS!!! I am an Active Duty Marine who has recently returned from my 12th combat deployment in 20 years. I am a Purple Heart receipt and have recently lost my vision due to combat injuries. In the past year our family has been through more than we have ever faced. From, blindness, traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress, doctor appointments all over our state, and the toughest is the transition to an uncertain new life as a disabled veteran. Which will start soon for us. My wife is a teacher and my daughter is in the beginning of her high school experience. Our world is as volatile and uncertain as I could have ever imagined. My injuries have been tough on my loving and supportive wife, but, life has been tough on my baby girl. She has been a trooper through everything and holds her end of the “tent” up by keeping the A’s rolling in. I have not been able to be the “ever present” father and dad I would have liked to have been. And there came “ OUR MILITARY KIDS”! To this organization of volunteers and ALL of the doners, I am grateful! I am grateful not just once, but twice for stepping up and in, where I could not, and cannot at this time. Thank you for taking the time to donate, and thank you for your gift to my family. You see, because of your gift to my daughter, which allows her to ride horses and follow her dreams, at a time where I could not help her, you have given her proof that we live in a land that offers help when we are down. That people understand your hard times either by your words or because they too have had tough times. There is an indirect gift my family received from the help you gave to my daughter. I now am able to cope with an indescribable amount of my tramatic brain injury and post traumatic stress because you paid the way for my daughter to learn horseback riding, which showed me what a horse can do for me as well. Being with horses has been the best therapy I have ever experienced. There is respect to be given to being able to communicate through emotions with a living animal who does not speak my language. Not to mention he is eight times my size. My wife has attempted to hijack this keyboard the entire time I have struggled to make my “thank you” comprehensible. This is such a wonderful program. My girls were able to attend aquatic camp where they learned boating and water safety and had so much fun canoeing, kyacking, windsurfing, sailing and stand up paddle boarding. It was right before the end of their dads 10 month deployment so was great to have something fun to distract them and make the time pass quickly, and so nice for me to not stress about the expense. OMK was so nice and very fast with approval and payment. And sent the girls cute swag.

As a 14-year military spouse supporter, I can honestly say that what OMK provides for the children of our service members is genuinely one of the best opportunities for the children of deplorers. Our Military Kids gave my oldest daughter the opportunity to go to an amazing horse camp this summer. She is overly excited for this great opportunity to ride and swim on horses. She would have never been able to participate in this camp if it wasn't for Our Military Kids and the wonderful donors who have donated to make this happen. This will take her mind off her father serving overseas, at least for a little while. Thank you again.
I would like to take the time to thank OMK for their generous donations to my kids. Thanks to them it made my job and pockets (lol) a lot easier to do during my husband's deployment. It kept the kids busy and gave them something to focus on. Also, thanks to them my 6 year old became 2018 Georgia state wrestling champion for his weight class, my other son was able to make to the High School state finals and that would not have been possible without them, so I thank you! I encourage anyone to seek their help, it makes a tremendous difference!
My kids were beyond excited to get their grants from Our Military Kids. My husband has been in Iraq/Kuwait for the last 6 months. He has 6 months left before he returns home. It brightened their day when they received their packets in the mail. My son is getting reading tutoring. So when I pick him up after work, we are able to play together instead of doing school work. My daughter is able to go to Young Life Camp in Colorado this summer. She can not wait to share the pictures. This has made life a little easier and exciting for my kids. Thank you!

Our Military Kids Organization is a blessing. This program has allowed my child the opportunity to participate in gymnastics as she desperately wished to do. She has gained confidence and strength in the ability to focus herself in the activity. By the support and assistance of this organization, my child is able to thrive mentally and physically. It is such a blessing and honor. This could not have happened for her without Our Military Kids organizations help and support. My family and I are truly greatful for allowing her this opportunity.
Our Military Kids is an incredible program giving back to deployed family members. They allowed my son to play basketball while his Dad was overseas and truly impacted his life for the better. Playing basketball helped him cope with missing his Dad and was something he looked forward to week after week. It was so nice to not have the financial strain of paying for it! We really appreciate what this organization is doing to support the families of our Military.

Our Military Kids is absolutely amazing! They gave a grant to two of my kids to do karate and ice skating while their dad is away. It’s a god send to have the kids so busy and engaged when a parent is absent, serving the country. I can’t say enough great things about this program! The kids are the ones who suffer the most during deployments, I think, and giving them a reprieve from it makes their world brighter! Thank you so much to Our Military Kids and all their wonderful donors!
Two of my daughter's are building confidence and making breakthroughs in their emotional development due to the assistance that this program has been able to provide. One of them is dancing and the other is playing Select Travel Soccer. We are so thankful for this program. We all as a family have had strain and struggles related to my husband's service so this allows us the opportunity to enjoy life. My husband is wounded mentally and physically and he is a 2 time purple heart recipient and he also has a bronze star with valor and I am sure you can only imagine what accompanies him with these accomendations. So this program is definitely a fresh breath of air for our family. We have 4 children and would not be able to accommodate these activities for them without Our Military Kids. THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks to Our Military Kids, our son is able to enjoy Jiu Jitsu while his dad is deployed overseas. Such a great gesture to give to our amazing kids while their parents our away defending our great country! Can’t say thank you enough!!!
This is an amazing organization. It was so easy and efficient to complete the application process. They have supported both of our children in gymnastics and this year piano lessons. It has really helped them in growing socially, emotionally and academically. Piano is a perfect fit for bonding with their father, since they can come home and show him what they learned. I can’t tell you what a gift this organization is to our family.

This is a fantastic organization that does an amazing job supporting military families of deployed National Guard soldiers. They answer questions very fast and approved our application and had a check in the mail to us within 1 week. We are so excited to be able to send our daughter to camp this summer because of this program. Since we are a National Guard family and do not live near a base this is a great way to get my daughter involved in an activity.
What a simple way to lessen the burden of the little people who sacrifice for our country. Our last deployment was a hard one! I remember the day the grants came from Our Military Kids, I bawled my eyes out for that little ray of sunshine in such a difficult season. They are so helpful and have answered questions really quickly when I needed help. Our two girls were able to take several months of ice skating lessons. A few friends have also been awarded grants to participate in activities! Thanks for all your do for our littlest patriots!
Upon hearing whispers of an organization that helps the families of wounded United States Armed Forces service members, I was reluctant to inquire. I am always hearing of a program or some form of therapy or assistance that benefits the soldier as an individual. What caught my attention and triggered me to pursue more information was the word "families". As a wounded US Army Infantry Scout who has seen 28 months of intense combat throughout multiple deployments during my military career of just over 6 years, I was excited to hear that word. Better yet, once I did inquire, I found that this program was all about caring for the children of people such as myself! Through Our Military Kids Inc., I had quickly learned of it's mission. They are a family orientated organization that simply helps with the positive growth of my child. I am a very protective parent as you may imagine. There was no doubt that this was safe for me but more importantly, safe for my family. Once applied and in communication with members of Our Military Kids Inc. volunteers, I was greeted with only professionalism and complete dedication to the cause. This is a very organized operation. All correspondence has been handled in the most proficient manner. I was fortunate to be a recipient for one of their many programs that can assist in providing a positive learning environment for my child. I was astonished to see how fast their process moved with minimal effort on my behalf. The options I had for the program were abundant. More importantly, the results of the program were abundant. Using the grant awarded, which may be the first of more to come, I placed my child in an extensive martial arts program. He has benefited so much in such a short time. My son has shown a level of pride in himself that no matter how hard I would try, I would not have been able to see without the help of Our Military Kids Inc. The initial package we received was full of things that acknowledged his role in the family as a "military child". He was so proud to put on his own set of dog tags and show me his award certificate. It was easy for me to see that he had felt he was part of something bigger than himself. That is so hard to do for a six year old. Watching his well-being improve only made mine do the same. I thought this was just for him, but believe me, my entire family benefits through Our Military Kids Inc. and my entire family now includes Our Military Kids Inc. I commend them for all that they do.
Our Military Kids Inc. has helped my daughter and I twice so far. My daughter is an adamant soccer player, so I looked to support from Our Military Kids to help with her soccer fees. During my current and last deployment, 2012-2013, this wonderful organization came through and provided, without hesitation. What makes it so great to our family is that my daughter feels like she is directly supported by a cause that is greater than all of us, our military. As an Army brat, she understands the sacrifices that come with those that serve and the families left behind. This organization creates a direct link between her and I, even though, I'm over 7,000 miles away. She is so proud of the certificate that she gets with her grant that she hangs it on her wall, as if to say, I'm proud to be a "Military Kid." So, another year for her on the field is her way of supporting those that put her there.
My son absolutely loves snowboarding. Had it not been for the help of “Our Military Kids”, he would’ve not been able to snowboard down that mountain. I can not thank you enough for all of your help. You are heaven sent.
OMK granted my daughter the opportunity to continue her diving while her father was deployed. This organization is amazing for all their work they do to provide financial support to children whose parents are deployed. We can not thank OMK enough for allowing our daughter the opportunity to go to diving camp.
Our Military Kids Inc is an incredible organization that does so much for so many kids and families! Our daughter was able to attend 6 months of dance lessons she might not have otherwise been able to due to their kindness and generosity while my husband/her Dad was deployed.

My family and I have had a wonderful experience with Our Military Kids Inc! My husband is in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and is currently in Ukraine. Our Military Kids has generously helped our oldest daughter who is 7 continue horse back riding lessons while her daddy is deployed. We feel the love and support from this organization and feel very blessed.

Our Military Kids was such a blessing to my family while I was deployed. My kids were able to have some positive and constructive things to do instead of worrying about when dad was coming home. It helped us a lot. Although having to deploy made life stressful and difficult at times for my family, the highlight of the week was getting the change to go to piano lessons for my kids; an opportunity they probably never would have had otherwise, THANK YOU Michelle and OUR MILITARY KIDS for ALL of your hard work you do for military kids.
We love Our Military Kids. My husband served combat tours both in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was injured in Afghanistan and spent nearly a year at a military medical center. While he has been home for three years, life has still not returned to normal. VA appointments, work, redeployment issues, and dealing with his injuries, have all weighed heavily on my husband and our family. My daughter has spent almost 2 years of her life without her dad. For my son that numbers goes to nearly 4 years. The time away from dad, and the time readjusting after deployments has been hard on them. They have made sacrifices most of their friends could never understand.
That is where OMK comes in. Financially, times are still tough for us, although there is hope on the horizon. OMK has allowed our kids to participate in extra-curricular activities we would not have been able to afford without the OMK scholarships. The scholarships help my kids feel that someone understands and appreciates their past and ongoing sacrifices. The activities give them an outlet to deal with the stresses they sometimes face. This organization is truly a blessing to many families.
We are blessed to have received a grant for my daughter Lauren for tutoring. Because of the tutoring Lauren was able to graduate high school with her twin brother William and will be attending college. We appreciate everything thank you again.

When I was deployed, Our Military Kids allowed both of my children to stay busy and get involved in events that they paid for while I was overseas. As a single mother, I was overjoyed when I heard that they paid for each of my children to do what they loved while I was away.
This is such a great program. Especially for the kids who are going through a deployment. Keeping them involved in activities helps speed up the time and keep them distracted. Thank you Military Kids!
Military Kids is a great program helping families with the stress of deployments and money to maintain children's welfare. My children used the grant to play sports. I knew being in some activity would help keep their minds off of their father being away. I truly appreciate this program and hope they continue to help other families as well. I have been deployed numerous times to the Middle East, I learned of OMK .Org in 2014 My oldest two boys were on the school trap team the shot gun they were using were old pump gun that put them at a disadvantage over the other shooter, I contacted the president of the Minnesota youth trap shooting Association he was able to purchase two new shotguns for my sons that greatly improved their scores on the track field
My number three boy was able to take drivers education which he passed on the first try behind the wheel
And my youngest two boys received compound bow and arrow set ups which they still used today and will for many years

It would be nearly impossible for our two teenagers to be involved in what they love without OMK. My veteran husband is on disability so there is a fixed income. Plus I am only able to work two days a week due to our 12 yr old daughter fighting cancer for the 2nd time in her short life. Life has been such a great mountain to climb for our family. It isn't ever easy. But when there are organizations like this to help with just one thing.. it makes at least one stressful life worry go away. Our son loves playing football. And we want nothing more for him to continue to play and keep busy. He is such a good kid, and even holds a part time job plus does chores and helps with his younger siblings. Last year, OMK helped our son with football plus our daughter with dance. We are eternally greatfull!
For two of my husband's overseas deployments, Our Military Kids graciously provided scholarships for both of my children. This enabled them to have a fun, new activity of their choosing which would help keep their mind off of Dad's constant absence. We are a Reserve family, and deployments can be extra hard on us since we do not live on a military base and do not have all the benefits/resources which full-time military members do. It feels very lonely and no one around us understands our plight. None of our family lives close to us (all 800+ miles away!), so deployments can be extra hard. I'm not saying any of this for pity, but rather to bring awareness to the great work Our Military Kids does. Those scholarships helped to bring added joy and something to look forward to each week for my children. What a blessing beyond measure! We are truly grateful for Our Military Kids and what they do for military families. :)
My 2 kids benefited greatly in 2016 from the generosity of Our Military Kids. My 8 year old daughter was able to participate in gymnastics and my 5 year old son was able to participate in Karate ...with no out of pocket expense ourselves! This made things a bit easier while their dad was deployed for 1 year with reducing our financial burden, keeping the kids busy, and keeping things "normal" just as if their dad was home. Thank you! Such an amazing program for military families! My girls are 7 and 3. While my husband has been deployed, Our Military Kids is paying for them to do an activity. They love gymnastics so they chose to do that. Having the financial help has eased some of the stress while my husband is gone. The girls are so excited for Daddy to watch them in class when he gets home!
My experience with Our Military Kids has been nothing short of amazing! Because of this program all three of my kids are able to stay active throughout the year.
When my husband was medically retired about four years ago we decided to move to Arionza, for a few reasons. One being the weather and because of his injuries this was the best place for us to finally set some roots. It has been a huge adjustment for us all to say the least.
When we were told about this program I was so excited. It had been about two years since our kids had been involved in any sports. Due to it not being in our budget. But with this program we have been able to keep them active and have seen such a huge turn around in their personalities and have seen them all excel in so many ways!

I absolutely love volunteering at Our Military Kids. Coming from a military family myself, I love helping this specific community of children. This organization is very welcoming and easy to be a part of. They have an abundance of tasks which I help take part in from filing to updating email lists to making brochures. The environment and staff are extremely friendly and help prepare me for a real office job when I am older.
Our Military Kids Inc. have supported my 2 sons during all 3 of their father's deployments and I can't say "Thank you enough for making my son's feel valued for the sacrifices they make here at home while dad is serving their country." My boy's were surprised to learn that people want to say, "Thank you for being a great military kid; we appreciate your sacrifice of having your dad deployed, we know it's not easy, but we want to pay for an activity of your choice to show our gratitude." This really made a difference for each deployment. My boys had an activity to focus on and it distracted them with the reality that dad was deployed in a dangerous environment. We don't live near an Army installation, so there is not a lot of known support or other military kids for them to associate with. Our Military Kids Inc. has brought smiles to my boys faces on some very hard days. My boys feel honored and proud to receive the grant. We are a proud military family and deployments are a challenge on many levels for the family back home. I strongly encourage other families of deployed soldiers to apply for the grant; it is a simple process and will let your child/children know they are appreciated by other fellow Americans.
My husband was deployed out of the country with the US Air Force for many months. Our Military Kids provided a grant for my daughter to take a gymnastics class once a week while he was away! My daughter loved the class and most of all my family felt supported and appreciated!

Our Military Kids provided a grant for our 13 year old son during my husband's third deployment. The grant provided him an opportunity to attend an Aeronautics Space Camp at a College of Science & Technology. This is one of the best resources military families have when trying to make the best of a deployment. Thank you to everyone who has donated to make these grants possible!
My husband was deployed for six months. During this time, both of my boys were to attend a week long scout camp that would have cost us a great deal of money. We heard about Our Military Kids and their support of military families...and how they could provide the finances needed for kids of the military to participate in activities they enjoy. So we submitted our information and within a few weeks we received news that not only one boy, but both were receiving a grant to pay for their camp. It was just that easy. We are so grateful for organizations like this that realize the sacrifices being made are not only by the military member, but the family left behind. What an outstanding service and awesome organization!
When I first heard about Our Military Kids Inc, the program seemed to good to be true. The newsletter said that children of mobilized reservists could receive a grant to pay for one sporting activity during the deployment up to a fixed dollar amount. My husband was headed on a year long reserve mobilization overseas and we had been stressed. This was our first deployment living away from a military community and from family. Our Military Kids Inc came through in a big way. The organization gave my kids six months of swimming lessons. Those hours at the pool gave us something to focus on while dad was away. It enabled us to share with him our "growth" in a visible way. Our Military Kids Inc reminded me that people cared about us and families like ours. To say that I am grateful is an understatement.
They helped me get my son to play soccer. This is the second year in a row. The VA has really messed with me and my family so funds are really short. Without Our Military Kids I don't think my son would be able to play soccer. They are a true blessing. I cant thank them enough. It means everything to us.
Having their dad away there was a LOT of energy that wasn't being taken up from 'daddy play time' so getting the opportunity to be blessed with grants from Our Military Kids Inc has given my children time to have physical event activities that we would not have been able to financially able to afford if we would not have been warranted a grant for each from Our Military Kids Inc = we are TRULY GREATFUL!
When my husband deployed, my son had a difficult time and with the grant from Our Military Kids, we were able to keep his mind occupied and still learn strength and discipline through karate classes. This helped him so much! Also, he couldn't wait to show my husband what he was learning. It was a great experience and we're forever grateful!!
I just wanted express my gratitude for what Our Military Kids has done for my boys. My deployment meant I had to miss my son's senior year (pictured in white) and my youngest son's first year as the starting Varsity QB (pictured in green). The completion of a new high school meant they would be playing at different high schools this year and it would be the first time in 8 years that I would not be there to coach with them. Having two boys on two separate teams creates a significant financial burden. Their ability to participate in football has kept them active and involved in school and with their friends, making the deployment much better for them.
This is a great organization that helped my family out during our time of need. Providing for us during my husband's deployment have us a bit of sunshine during a challenging time!
While my husband was deployed, this program provided grants so that 2 of our children could participate in high school sports. It was such a huge blessing to us and one less thing I needed to worry about. It was timely as we had to adjust our budget to accommodate a teen driver on our auto insurance. Every bit helped!! Thank you to all who donated to help our kids. Sports programs helped keep their minds of the deployment and also gave them a constructive outlet with a group of peers.
My husband is currently serving in Afghanistan. Our sons miss their father a great deal. I have tried to find a place that will provide our sons with positive role models and build their confidence. Our sons have found that they both enjoy Brazilian jujitsu. Military kids has given our sons an opportunity to feel successful in something they love to do. It also gives them a conversation starter when they speak to their father about their success and new promotions in training in Brazilian Jujitsu.
My daughter loved both sessions of her horse camp. Horse back riding is often what she looks forward to the most during her school week, so having an entire two weeks of it was the best!
My son had a lot of fun playing small team lacrosse during his month long tournament play. It helped to keep him active and outdoors instead of playing video games all summer. Thank you, Our Military Kids, for the amazing donations that made these activities possible!
OMK provided direct grants of $250 each for my two children to attend summer camp while I was deployed. This is a very lean organization that was very user friendly and helpful during the grant application and payment process.
Our Military Kids Inc has been such a blessing to our family! When a parent is deployed, a lot of things can get put "on hold" because the remaining parent has so much more on his/her plate. Thanks to funding from Our Military Kids, two of my children were able to participate in activities that they would otherwise been able to try. My daughter joined a crossfit class which really helped to improve her fitness and confidence and my son was able to participate on a ballroom dance team, which he really enjoyed and which helped to develop social skills as well. Thanks so much for supporting this great organization!
This program is exactly what my family needed while my husband was deployed for 347 days. My Daughter used her grant for joining a dance team. This was more than dance.....her time at dance gave her a place to escape her saddness and focus on her physical activity. She was at dance enjoying herself and building relationships with her peers, I was able to have free time to do things for “me.” It was the perfect time to squeeze in some exercising for myself also. Not only did my daughter’s grant help her but it also gave me a few hours of Mom time, which was priceless. 347 days is a long time to have our family separated, but Our Miltary Kids and their donors realize this and that is why they work so hard to get these grants. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity they gave my children.
This charity has provided my family with the opportunity to register and help our children to continue with their kung fu training. This form of martial arts like countless others provide our children with self-discipline, defense, and situation awareness. Thank you My Military Kids
Our Military Kids Inc has awarded a grant for our oldest daughter to participate in baton and pom classes due to her dad being a severly injured veteran. She absolutely loves having this time each week to spend with friends practicing her skills and performing throughout the year with as many as 15 performances. I'm a wounded veteran and Our Military Kids helped my kids while I was deployed and when I was wounded overseas and in the hospital. This organization has done wonders for my two daughters. Both my daughters were involved in dance and martial arts and they received grants to help them out with uniforms and equipment and part of their classes.
When my husband was on deployment for 7 months in 2015, it was a very difficult time for our family. When I found out that Military Kids Inc had scholarships for children of deployed military, I was beyond excited. There was actually something good to come out of this long separation. My daughter had an entire year of dance classes paid for by this organization. This was my daughter's first experience with dance, and she loved it. We are still grateful to Military Kids for their generous scholarship. I am thankful of this organization, both for their dedication to military families and the fact that it is a well-run, honest non profit.
Their afterschool activities would've been one of the things to be cut from our budget , but Our military Kids have helped.when their Dad was deployed for year.. really appreciate the help.. thank you so so much..

Paul is a member of FIRST Robotic team, Stryke Force #2767. He was granted a sponsorship from Lockheed Martin to go to WORLD’S in St. Louis, Missouri. His team won 2017 FIRST WORLD’S Robotics.

I am a service member currently serving overseas. And Our Military Kids has brung great relief to my family financially. By helping my family send my daughter to Summer Camp. This program is simply amazing. And I wish I could tell the world how much of a pleasure it was working with this Non Profit Organization!
I don't know what we would do without Our Military Kids. We have three young children and being able to afford camp for them every summer is extremely challenging. Our Military Kids makes it possible for them to go and participate in enrichment activities that interest them and help them academically all year long. My only complaint is that I hope they will be able to extend the program to offering more than just 4 grants per child in the future, especially because there are no other organizations out there that do what they do. This organization has helped my children stay focused on learning new skills and growing with the grants provided while their father is deployed. We have been able to spend time learning and being active instead of moping, counting down days. Because of the support provided by OMK, our deployment is almost over and we have lots of new skills to show our servicemember when he returns! We are so grateful for the opportunities afforded to us by the donors and OMK; this organization is incredible and is doing very important work for the children of deployed reservists while they're off doing important work for our country.
Our Military Kids has been nothing but impeccably perfect for my family; and more importantly my children. Both my husband and I are military veterans with over 10 deployments between the two of us. Our children have always made huge sacrifices due to both their parents being in the US Army. I retired in 2015 and since transitioning out the military I have had issues finding work and this program has allowed my three children to find normalcy - still flourish, learn and grow and I am overwhelmingly grateful for the opportunity that this program has afforded for my children.
Blackwell's Karate in Augusta, GA is an awesome program that's helped my children, who were being bullied in school, gain confidence and learn how to defend themselves. The Our Military Kids program paid for my kids to be in the Karate class for six months, the self-defense gear, the uniforms, the t-shirts and the awesome experience. I will always speak nothing love and adoration from the bottom of my heart about the benefits of this program and the love we have received from the staff at Our Military Kids. If there is anything you need from me or my children please don't hesitate to ask.

I was deployed twice. Both times Our Military Kids helped my children get swim lessons while i was overseas.
When my husband was activated from the reserves and deployed for a year, our children were struggling a bit from his absence after not having to deal with deployments in a long time. Our Military Kids was there to provide them not only with the opportunity to try a new instrument, but also to let them know they were not forgotten. Our children do not choose this life, but they have to deal with it all the same. Just being recognized as a Military Kid made them proud of themselves and their dad.
Our Military Kids, Inc. provided a $500.oo grant to my ten year old son so that he could continue to take karate lessons during my deployment from October 2015-April 2016. The grant made it possible for my son to hold onto some form of continuity in his daily life even though his dad was deployed. It also eased some of the financial burden during the deployment when I was making less than what I made in my civilian occupation since I am a member of the Air National Guard.
This organization is wonderful and super easy to work with. Because of supporters of Our Militay Kids, our daughter was able to attend a phenomenal music camp while my husband was deployed. It was a wonderful experience for her, and a great encouragement to my husband, knowing that other people cared about our family while he was away. Thank you, Our Militay Kids, for all you do!!
My husband was deployed overseas for one year. Our children were ages 5, 3, and almost 1 when he left. We were so blessed by a scholarship grant for our 5 year old to take swimming lessons! He felt so special and so proud to show Daddy his swimming after homecoming! Thank you to the tremendously generous sponsors and the hardworking people at Our Military Kids. Our family is very grateful!
The programs my babies were able to enroll in were a bright silver lining to a rough deployment. There’s no way we could have afforded it without this grant. So unbelievably grateful.
I joined Our Military Kids in April 2017 as an Advisory Board Member. I set a goal of $10,000 to reach by October 31, 2017. I hosted five events so far and have raised $12,900. I believe in the mission and want to see it grow.
Or Military KIds benefited two of our five children with scholarships. All 5 of my children participate in Water Polo. It can be very expensive to pay for all 5 of them every season, especially when Daddy is deployed. Water Polo keeps them busy and happy so they don't have to waste time thinking about how bad life is with out Daddy around to be with. This has given them something to write to him about. The season they helped our family the teams they were on progressed very well and scored very high in their division. One took 1st place and the other 3rd. It allows them the opportunity to succeed and not put undue burdens on the family. Thank You "Our Military Kids"!!
Our Military Kids is an irreplaceable organization. OMK enabled both our children to take piano lessons while Dad was deployed. The gift of music is forever! Both the kids preformed at the mall during Christmas time while Dad watched via Skype. We are so thankful to OMK for providing this experience.
When my husband deployed, Our Military Kids helped me send both my girls to dance! It took a great burden off my shoulders while he was gone and helped us save some extra money and allowed my children to go to dance classes and have something fun to look forward to each week!!
When things were tight for our family, Our Military Kids helped us out so our girls were both still able to take dance, without them, we would not have been able but afford classes at that time.

Our military kids have been a huge help in our family from helping our kids with paying for dance and baseball , to having someone help with Christmas . The help we have received take a huge weight off of our shoulders in a time of need for our family . We are so grateful for all the volunteers and donors to make the orginzation a great one for Vets or enlisted members along with there family members.
My husband has been deployed since November 2016 and won't return until December 2017 so it's been rough on our young kids. BUT...OMK has been amazing in helping out! They first awarded my kids with a sports scholarship so they could continue their swim practices and they made the swim team because of these lessons! After that, OMK has provided tickets/admission to other great events like air shows and amusement parks for my kids and I to enjoy while we wait for our soldier to return home. It has been a true blessing to receive help in keeping these kids busy and happy!

While I was transitioning from my Reservist status to Active duty and leaving my Family for another deployment, my kids were left without a father and my wife without her partner to help her. Money is always tight in these transitions. This organization provided us a way to allow my son to attend his Boy Scout camp which was the highlight of his summer while I was gone and couldn’t take him anywhere. They made it easy for me and we will never forget it. Thank you.
Our Military Kids is a great resource for families where one parent is deployed and childcare is needed. By using resources from Our Military Kids, we were able to get assistance in off setting the cost of daycare for my 3 year old while I was deployed
Our Military Kids has been so wonderful to our children! Their daddy was honorably discharged after being blown up twice overseas. He came back mentally and physically scarred. He suffers severe PTSD and TBI. This program helps the children to stay busy in a sport of their choice, which has helped them with their depression & anxiety. We couldn't afford these sports with our income, so when I heard of Our Military Kids and our children were approved it was the biggest blessing to our family! My children have used Our Military Kids grants during 3 active duty deployments. We have participated in art lessons, piano lessons, guitar lessons, gymnastics programs, and wrestling programs. This is an amazing service that is provided to keep our children involved and busy while supporting the family and keeping the children busy while their parent is deployed. We LOVE Our Military Kids and greatly appreciate all the donors supporting the wonderful program!!
Last year was very hard for our family. It was our first deployment as parents. The grant we received from our military kids help us to pay for our daughter to do gymnastics a few times a week. It kept us all occupied so we could focus less on the void of our service member being absent. If not for the grant we wouldn’t have been able to afford the classes. My family Thanks you!
Our military kids provides grants for my son who is the child of a veteran with ptsd. Due to symptoms of ptsd such as agorophobia we have to limit our interaction in the community and this leaves our children at a disadvantage, but thanks to our military kids grants, our son gets to participate in group activities such as dance that have helped our son express himself, communicate better, and develop healthy age appropriate coping mechanisms
Our Military Kids made it possible for my sons to attend a summer camp that promoted outdoor survival skills and overcoming challenges. We could not have done it without the generous support of OMK!
It's tough being retired and injured at the same time. Would have thought of retirement being a blessing, until I found out how much I actually make. This is by far the best organization that I have dealt with, they are very passionate about the needs of military kids. It is very hard to maintain a household with a deployed member of the family. OMK gave us an amazing gift during my husbands last deployment. Thanks to their generosity, my three daughters were able to participate in gymnastics and dance. Having those activities to look forward to each week made the year daddy was gone go by a lot faster! Thank you OMK for helping make daddy's absence be a little more bearable for three little girls!
Our Military Kids have provided 4 of my 5 kids (the youngest isn’t old enough yet) with grants for their sports and it has helped our family tremendously! They are so sweet and we are so grateful for their dedication to the wounded soldiers!
I am a disabled Combat wounded warrior. Our Military Kids is an incredible organization that has helped my kids keep competing every year with the amazing grants they provide. I am so thankful for what they do for us.
OMK has been such a benefit for the ENTIRE family! I have not seen any other organization that looks out for the children of wounded veterans. They understand that family well-being benefits a Soldier's recovery and understand that children can be affected by a service members injury and wartime service. OMK has provide grants for both of my children to go to swimming classes together, and previously for my daughter in dancing and gymnastics. These activities have greatly enhanced their self-esteem and made them happier kids; and these events were cost-prohibitive for me, as I am currently unemployed and on disability, working towards recovery and employment again. I look forward to when I start working again so I can pay it forward. They also have an amazing Christmas program where donors provide recipients with Christmas presents as they choose--We were grateful recipients last year, and it gave us an opportunity to meet a donor and share Christmas pictures. I am sure it was a mutually rewarding experience.
Amazing Organization!! They are providing opportunity to so many great military kids and giving them the chance to participate in activities they would otherwise not be able to.
My husband and I have five children. While he was deployed Our Military Kids helped relieve some of the financial burden of our children's activities. Being able to continue to do what they love while their dad is away was extremely important. It was especially helpful because my husband is in the National Guard, so often when he deploys there is a gap between when he gets his last civilian paycheck and when he starts getting his active duty pay. It is often about a month, so having Our Military Kids help was indispensable.
My daughter is on a Competition Gymnastics team and Our Military Kids helps with cutting the cost and allowing her to continue on her journey to the Olympics(we hope)!
They are absolutely wonderful! They helped my daughter Elisse who is going through a rough time. Find something that she absolutely loves which is competitive cheerleading. This organization is one of the best non-profit charity organizations that I have ever experienced. They have allowed my children to compete in sporting events that they would have never been able to before, due to cost.

Great charity! They really helped out our family when I was called to active duty for a deployment. Their program allowed our kids to maintain their extracurricular activities over the summer that we could not have afforded without their help.
I have been doing monthly fundraisers for military support organizations. While I am so appreciative for what they all do, Our Military Kids is the one that got me started eight years ago. I have heard countless stories about how OMK has helped the lives of our service members, veterans and most importantly, the next generation. I discovered Our Military Kids about 8 years ago. This incredible group of highly motivated staff and volunteers has made an impact not only on the kids of our military, but on the service members and their spouses as well. Although they have extremely low overhead costs, the group manages to treat each and every child as though they were the most important person in the world. I've know servicemen and women who say that OMK has allowed them to deal with both the physical and emotional issues that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have created. The group has literally helped save the lives of both our men and women in uniform and their kids. They are the best!
First of all I would like to say thank you from the heart to Our Military Kids. You have made it possible for my children to excel in training for Baseball with Jake Kirkland Baseball training program. I feel like this allows myself as a father knowing that I’m doing all I can for my children to get to the next level. This program is teaching my children teamwork, Discipline, and Respect for others. As a parent we are tasked to bring up respectable honest and productive young men and women. Our Military Kids have given my kids the opportunity to try something new while their Dad is deployed. These activities have taken their attention away from dwelling on this difficult time to working toward learning a new skill. They were all so excited to get their own mail and kept saying how nice it was for someone to do this for them. My two older girls are in Kyukido, which is teaching them confidence, discipline, and defense- all things their Dad would normally be doing. They now get to tell him all about it when he calls. Our Military Kids has also given my younger daughter the opportunity to dance. She is also learning confidence and how to make new friends. We are so grateful for this organization and the focus they give to our children.
Thanks to Our Military kids my son and daughter have been able to participate in music lessons while their Dad is deployed overseas. They have been able to learn something new and hopefully be able to play a tune for Daddy when he returns!

I heard about this organization from a Sailor while I was deployed overseas with a joint organization. I submitted the application and all of the necessary documentation and was able to get the full grant for my daughter to go to Puerto Rico with other Girl Scouts from around the country. It was an amazing opportunity and I was more than thankful for the financial support OMK was able to give us. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the trip and as a result, she is looking forward to going on another one next year. Of course, I most likely won't be deployed then, but I will always sing the praises of OMK to other Soldiers and Service Members for what it does and how it helped my daughter find a bit of happiness while I was away. So, thank you very much for what you do. You didn't have to do it, but you did and it was greatly appreciated!
