In 2005 when I was 1st injured my family and I struggled with bills and food and not knowing where we were going to stay after a honorable discharge but 0% from the Army. My wife and I continued to work various jobs to make ends meet. In 2008 we where fortunate enough to receive help from the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes in which they payed our late payments on rent and utility bills that helped get us through the cold winters in Colorado. They also invited our family to attend a Road to Recovery conference which helped provide workshops and seminars to help get us back on track with sustainability for our future. Myself and my wife where both asked to be a part of a program within the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes organization in the capacity of a call representative where we made thank you calls to our generous donor's that helped with our financial dilemma in 2005. If it was not for the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes I don't know where we would be today. They have helped us sustain work and residency and we are very grateful that they continue to do this for many more veterans and their families. I also want to add how disheartening it is to see how some Veterans or spouses have tried to blemish this great organization after being helped themselves by them. I only pray that they will come to realize when they struggled this organization was there for them.
When I was sitting in my house without heat, food in the pantry or a direction, the Coalition stepped in and filled the propane tank and bought me groceries. They introduced me to people that are family and that still, after all of these years, check on me. I went from a hermit that wanted to be left alone, to someone with a mission to help others the way the Coalition helped me.
They work fast, treat you as if you're the only person they are talking to that day and tailor things to you individually. I volunteer to help them as I can which usually amounts to telling others about their work but they helped me up when I wasn't wanting help. I owe them more than I can say.
An amazing charity that, when I was at the lowest point in my life, stepped in to ensure I had food on my table and propane in my propane tank. They move with a quickness that is rare these days and have a genuine love for us veterans and our families and a majority of those working for them are veterans.
I don't know where I'd be without them.
Coalition to Salute America's Heroes,
Back in 2014 at the Coalition's Road to Recovery Conference, through the guest speaker Eddie Gomez from Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association, I learned about a life changing therapy that helped me get out of a wheelchair and use of a walker into being able to walk with just a cane. If it had not been for the Coalition's Road to Recovery Conference, I would never have heard about this oxygen therapy and would be an OIF Combat Veteran permanently in a wheelchair.
In addition to the flights out both times, the Coalition also gives a charity grant to RMHA to keep the Healing Our Heroes program going strong for more Veterans to find life changing treatment.
Thank you so much for the 1st Class Airfare tickets out to Colorado for Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric treatment. Especially in my condition with Narcolepsy and Temporary Paralysis being close to the facilities and entrance/exit really helped a lot both times.
And the meals both times (see pics) were very delicious and helpful since I was in a wheelchair and didn't get around much. And the flight home, I had temporary paralysis that morning and was running late and missed breakfast. So the 1st Class tickets were really helpful and greatly appreciated!
When I arrived to Colorado, they had to take me off in an aisle wheel chair. Just like last time, by the end of the second week I was done using the walker and back to just a cane. Despite the temporary paralysis still being an issue at times and on the flight home, I am now able to walk without a cane most of the times. So once again, life changing treatment!
In addition to the Road to Recovery Conference and the flights out to Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association both times for treatment, the Coalition has also provided me with employment in the Heroes Thanking Heroes work from home program, gave me an ergonomic chair to support my back, provided my family with holiday meal checks when we needed financial support, and gave Christy and me, a once in a lifetime experience at the 2017 Presidential Inaugural Ball and Parade with seats right across from the Presidential Viewing Stand and the Whitehouse. And when my wife Christy had her kidney transplant, the Coalition was once again there to support us however we needed it.
I cannot thank the Coalition enough for welcoming and supporting us as part of the Coalition Veteran Circle and Caregiver Support Network as part of the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes family.
Thanks Coalition to Salute America's Heroes!

The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes (CSAH) has been such a blessing to me and my wife, and thousands of other Disabled Veterans and Caregivers. The donors helped me personally by restoring my dignity and financial stability by allowing me to work in the Coalition's Heroes Thanking Heroes program, which gives the honor of Severely Disabled Veterans and their Caregivers to contact a donor and say Thank You for their support; some Caregivers are actually making calls sitting next to their Combat Disabled Veteran's hospital bed. The Coalition also recently purchased a $1,000 custom designed ergonomic chair so I can work without being in tremendous pain or losing circulation in my legs; I could barely sit, stand, walk, or lay down with this nerve pain, now I am able to sit and work without unbearable pain. They also offered to help me with a Track Wheelchair designed for use in rugged terrain to help me go fishing and hunting again, I declined the offer so someone who is bound to a wheelchair without legs could have it instead. The Coalition also helps with Emergency Financial Aid to help Soldiers waiting on VA Disability approval to prevent foreclosures and repossessions. They also have created a Veterans Circle Alumni Program for 30% Service Connected Combat Veterans since 2001 to Present, to help us rebuild camaraderie and share struggles and support with other Veteran Peers, some of us are even connecting locally and hoping to go fishing and hunting together. I would not have met these Veterans and new friends if it was not for this program. They also help with National Employment Resources, Online Education and Training and much more. They have also helped build a Women's Veteran Shelter and they will be sending over 50 Soldiers to the CSAH Annual Road to Recovery Conference. In addition to all of this, they send Veterans in need of financial support, a check to help them buy gifts and food for their children and family at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving, these are accompanied by a card from a donor to say thanks to that Veteran. When you become apart of the CSAH Veterans Circle Alumni Program, you become apart of their family. I have never worked for a group that cares so much how we are doing each week than the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. I am a 100% Total and Permanent Disabled Combat Veteran OEF Kuwait/Iraq 2001 with seizures, narcolepsy, temporary paralysis, arthritis, and a neuro-muscular disorder, I was medically discharged from the Army 1st Cavalry Division in 2004 after I was exposed to toxins and later a nerve agent that exploded in Iraqi laid minefields left over from Desert Storm. After being medically retired from the Federal Government, and a year of unemployment, I was emailed a job possibility and was immediately accepted to work from home as a Call Representative for the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, Heroes Thanking Heroes Program, and I have been truly blessed. Please check out our website www.saluteheroes.org and our Facebook.com/saluteheroes or call 1-888-447-2588 to find out more about the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. I can speak first hand knowledge as a recipient of their generosity and welcoming me into their family, that every $ that can possibly go the Veteran goes to the Veteran, they have limited the amounts being spent on advertising, direct mailing, and overhead, and salaries as much as possible, and they are still trying to further cut costs every day so more money goes directly to the Veteran and their family. Please give this charity a chance, they have been in under new management since July 2012 under CEO Mr. David Walker and they have made a tremendous 360 degree change from how this organization was managed in the past. They truly are making a difference in my life and the lives of thousands of other Veterans Families. If you don't believe me check out their website salute heroes.org click on About Us, then click Financial Highlights to see the breakdown of donations spending report, 2012 990 Report and Financial Statement, 2013 will be loaded soon.
My family is beyond grateful for the Coalition to salute americas heroes .I've seen first hand the support they provide not only for veterans like myself but for their caregivers. We are very honored to have not only been helped but to be a part of the Coalition family.
Absolute phenomenal people working for this organization. They helped us when we needed it the most. May God continue to bless this organization.
This organization has been a Godsend to my family and many of our friends as well. The Coalition's mission is only able to be upheld because of the many wonderful people who care about following it through.
I am so happy that The Coalition is able to help so many Veterans just like my Dad. They really understand the needs of veteran families and work hard to help them.
My family has been so blessed to have The Coalition a part of our life. We are happy to share their information with all of our Veteran family. They really helped us through some of the more difficult times in our life.
The Coalition has helped us and has been amazing. We just did a couples retreat last year that helped save our marriage. They gave me a part time job thanking donors which I love. This organization is the best. I would support them with all I have. My battery exploded and they helped me to get a new one very fast, they helped us with food once. The best organization.
The Coalition is one of the most amazing organizations. We just done a Trip to New York which in turn brought me and my husband together closer. Also taught us how to communicate better. We thank you and you will never know what you have done for our family when we needed it the most..
The coalition has been a huge blessing to our family they were able to help when our only car broke down and we had no way to get to doctors appointments, school or even the grocery store. They have also blessed our family by allowing me to work from home while being my husbands caregiver. Everyone there is so sweet and really understands where you are coming from and what challenges no only my husband faces with his injuries but the ones my family and I do as we learn new ways to do things.
The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes has been a blessing to our family! Through their Heroes Thanking Heroes Program, I have been able to help support our family financially all while continuing to care for my wounded veteran. The Coalition has helped me in finding my passion through assisting other veterans & their families as well as thanking the Coalition's generous supporters who make it possible for programs like the Heroes Thanking Heroes' part-time employment opportunity for caregivers & wounded veterans. The Coalition truly desires to assist our nation's wounded veterans and their families on their road to recovery. They are making a difference!
The best of the best! Love the Coalition and their mission!
The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes helped my family tremendously after my husband lost 3 limbs while serving in Afghanistan. They were able to provide me, as a caregiver, part-time employment from home so that I am able to be home to assist my veteran with his every day needs. This is truly an awesome, caring organization that REALLY does provide excellent opportunities and resources to veterans and family members.
Amazing organization! Truly supportive of Veteran and caregiver needs and have a variety of programs to provide assistance!
This nonprofit has been a great asset to my family. It has connected us with a network of other Veterans and caregivers who share in the daily struggles we do and truly understand our lives.
Wonderful non-profit that helps our Veterans AND their family!! They offer support, recovery programs, job opportunities, resources and so much more. Often the family is left behind, but not with the Coalition. So proud to support this Organization!!
It's very clear; you all have a compassionate understanding of the many complex challenges faced by the families and the severely injured combat veteran. You all worked with my family as we strive to recover. My challenges include a traumatic brain injury (TBI), I fight Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), as I work to overcome the pain and limitations caused from my bone and joint issues. I would highly recommend your services and heart felt support to any and all of my fellow veterans who work to recover from combat injuries. The resources you offer are spot on! As a whole, you all make Coalition To Salute Americas Heroes a very caring and compassionate organization. Thank you and God Bless you, and all the many awesome people who donated their time and assistance to help my family when we needed it most. The Powell family.
This organization does an excellent job, taking care of veterans with an approach to heal the veteran and the family. I have changed a lot since my injuries...and not all for the good. I feel it so important not just to help me but my family as well. I need them as much as they need me and they need to be healed as well. I cannot thank CSAH enough and the many volunteers and people who donate. I never imagined just how much a short period of your life spent in combat could alter you for the rest of your life. It's not easy being sent over seas to fight only to come home and find out you will have to spend the rest of you life just trying to fit in and enjoy life again.
Like a family member, brother or sister in arms, who never leaves you to handle or go in alone, The Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes is a genuine nonprofit who treats their members with respect and dignity. They offer support much beyond financial, which in a time of need is priceless. Effective and timely response/approval times, and an authenticity that is hard to find... this organization is #1 amongst others of its kind.
The Coalition continues to be one of the top leading nonprofits that supports the combat wounded veterans’ community and their families. The Coalition has helped my family in more ways than I can count. They've always supported our family and continue to be the driving force for my husband and I to help others like us. You won’t find a more dedicated group of people that want to help and love what they do than the Coalition. Ya'll are doing God's work and we’re all better because of it.
The Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes has been such a blessing to me and my family. Because of this wonderful group our family stronger then ever. Words can not express how grateful we are for your continued love and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for always being there for our military community!
I've spoken with individuals they have helped and what an impact they made to their lives.
My husband is a veteran and we have two little girls. My husband has been in and out of hospitals because of his injuries and hasn't been able to work. This really set us back on our bills and our electricity was shut off. We were living with our electric off for almost 3weeks. We finally contacted the coalition to salute and they helped get our electricity reinstated right away. They didn't judge us. They just helped us when we were down. After they helped us they put us in touch with several people in our area that work with veterans including our veteran service officer. We had no idea that any of this was in our city. They have made a huge impact on our family and we are forever thankful for them.
The coalition has helped our family when we really needed it. I am a veteran and my family and I almost lost our home. They helped with out mortgage and also helped us find resources for food and clothes for our kids.
I have worked for the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes for going on 7 years now. 7 years ago I had just given birth to my 3rd son and when he was 8 weeks old, I had 2 massive seizures and was airlifted to UNC hospital where I would stay for a week in the ICU.
With the medical bills from just having a baby, and the bills from the time spent in the hospital, we were barely holding our heads above water being a one income family.
My friend who had worked for the Heroes Thanking Heroes program, a special program for Veterans and caregivers through the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes to work from home and make supplemental income in their time of need, told me about the program. So I applied, and was hired.
In the time I have been with the Coalition they have been so good to my family. They helped repair my car when I had gotten into a car accident, they sent my family on a recovery retreat, they have sent my family money to help with holiday meals, and we have recieved a check from a secret santa to help with Christmas.
Just recently I went to the Coalition to Salute America's heroes to ask if they would like to sponser my husband's hockey team of wounded veterans.
Little did I know President and CEO of the Coalition is just as much a hockey fan as we are, and The Coalition donated $7,500 to the NC Warriors Hockey team to help pay for practices, buy equipment, and the Coalition is fully sponsoring the hockey team's next tournament in Pittsburgh with enough money for families with limited income to come.
The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes has done so much for my family. From helping to make sure my children have a nice Christmas, helping me contribute an income to my family, to sponsoring a bunch of wounded veterans living out their hockey dreams.
The Coalition to Salute America's heroes has been synonymous with guardian Angels to my family, and to many other wounded veteran families. They deserve more than 5 stars, I would give them a million stars!
Thank you Coalition to Salute America's heroes for all the support you have provided to my family and many other families just like mine.

The work of the Coalition touches the lives of combat wounded veterans & their families all over the US. They are problem solving and giving support more than a lot of the other organizations out there today. Financial assistance, Education support, Holiday meal checks and one of the coolest work-from-home programs in existence! I love this team of Veterans, Patriots and spouses!
I work for The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes and I'm proud to do it! We at the Coalition have made great strides to improve our transparency, increase our efficiency and to do the most we can for our wounded and disabled veterans from OIF/OEF/OND. In 2012 the Coalition welcomed a new leader and since that time our ratings, our efficiency and giving ratios are the best they've been in recent years. We do use direct mail to raise funds and spread awareness for the needs of our wounded veteran families. One example of those fundraising dollars at work is our Heroes Thanking Heroes program which employs 30+ wounded veterans or their spouses to thank our donors while still providing income for their families. Also, we recently mailed over 1,000 Easter gift checks to provide families the means to celebrate a special family meal. For Thanksgiving that number was around 3,000. If you have questions please contact me for more truths. email@example.com (515)868-4470
My wife and I work hard to be financially responsible. We make every dollar count for our family of 5. We were discharged from the caregiver program with very little notice. This impacted our monthly income drastically. We were forced to resort to using credit cards to keep our family afloat. Without the help of this organization we would have gone into a large amount of debt with a massive interest rate. The salute to hero’s group was the only group that was willing to give us a helping hand in our time of need. We were able to pay down to credit cards and pull ourselves out of financial peril because this group cared enough to help. They actually paid our mortgage, a car payment and sent a check for food within 3 days of applying for assistance. The assistance provided gave us just enough time to complete a home equity cash out loan that allowed us to elimanate $1164 of monthly bills, which in turn allowed us to live debt free on our new monthly benefits allotment. Thank you Salute yo Hero’s!
All my family and I can say is; unbelievable! I did not really know what there was out there, in terms of helping veterans during hard times, and we were appreciative to come across Coalition to Salute Heroes. Several days later, after filling out the required forms, we were contacted by representative Neida Sotomayer. Neida maintained contact through email and phone, and assisted us with our request. We cannot express how thankful we are; however, we have been spreading word of this selfless organization, via Facebook and friends, to donate so that others might receive the same kindness we were afforded. Neida, Thank you :)
The Coalition To Salute America's Heroes helped me when I was going through some life changing health/physical issues, that in turn caused me to also experience a temporary financial hardship. The application process was straight forward, and response time was excellent! I will be forever grateful for the help that they provided me in a very difficult time of my life.
We are struggling due to lost of job and difficulty finding a job with disabilities. My wife can not work due to young children and one being disabled. This amazing organization stepped and helped pay our car payment. What a blessing this is. Now we can keep our vehicle that holds are whole family.
Thank you for the amazing gift
I love the coalition and all the work they do to support veterans! This year we were surprised when we found a check in the mail to pay for our Thanksgiving day. To have time to spend with our family and not have to worry about how to pay for it or budget in advance is amazing. I'm grateful that the Coalition supports veterans and their families.
My husband and I were invited to attend the 2018 Heroes freedom week in NYC. This trip was life changing. Everyone in attendance felt like family, the staff outdid themselves and made sure everything was taken care of. As a couple we learned how to better communicate with each other, we got to spend some free time in NYC to do what we wanted. Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes has also sent us checks for a holiday meal in the past. It meant we could have thanksgiving meal without having to worry about money. We can not thank them enough for all they have done for us.
When I first came in contact with this foundation, I was a disabled mess-vet, a single mother, raising five kids, just trying to live. It was because of this foundation that I was able to get military challenge coins back after losing everything to a house fire. It was thanks to this organization that showed my new husband the beginning stages of how important being my caregiver was. It was through this foundation that I found out about Warrior to soulmate. This foundation has continuously blessed me financially when I had no idea how I was going to be able to be there for my family. I thank God for this foundation, the donors, and for the staff who continue to make this foundation thrive.
The Coalition To Salute America’s Heroes has done so much for my family. They gave my wife and I new tools to better understand and communicate with each other.
This was the 1st time for both my wife and I to New York, New City and Times Square. It was one of the best trips we've had in a longtime together and with an AWESOME Group of People and Heroes. Not only was I able to face a few of my fears, I had a lot of assistance there to help me along to get through them too. To be able to see my wife smile like she did, was AWESOME. The last thing, just meeting NEW friends was the TOP of the cake. That in-itself was more for me alone. Thank You Coalition To Salute Americas Heroes.
Thank you for this awesome experience. It helped my wife and I learn how to communicate with each other better than we have before.
Amazing Organization!! Friendly and helpful staff! The Coalition has also helped our family in so many ways, And we will be forever thankful.
The Coalition to Salute Americas heroes has been an invaluable organization for my family and I. They have stepped in when we had no one to support or help us. They go above and beyond what a nonprofit would usually do. The staff and donors are amazing human beings with a heart that bleeds red/white/blue. God bless you all and keep up the great work.
