I got the form to sign up for Soldiers’ Angel food program in the email one hour before filling it out and finding out that I was on a waiting list! Tell me what is fair about that?
We are so sorry to hear that you had a tough time registering for a Veteran Food Distribution event! Unfortunately, what you experienced is a sign of the times we are living in. The incredible demand for food assistance has created a very intense registration process for some of the markets we serve. At each event, we are able to provide food assistance to only 200 veterans and the registration process is first-come, first-served. Our contact lists for each city are between 1000 - 2500 veterans. When the text and email go out announcing registration, the lists fill almost immediately in our larger markets! In total, we register 280 submissions between a registered list and wait list. In Atlanta, our largest market for the event, we fill 280 slots in 8 minutes. Best advice: As soon as you get the text, call or click to fill out the form!
