I have been a member since 2004, reaching out thru the adoption, letterwriting and ard response teams, as well as Ladies of Liberty for many years. ISoldiers' Angels encompasses the very life cycle of Military families from support to the expecting Mom of a deployed to the Living Ledgions families left behind of a Fallen soldier. It includes Army, Air Force, Maine, Navy National Guard and USCG. I have received thank yous from many a serviceman and Chaplain. "Your letter of support from a stranger, when we feel forgotten, brought a smile bigger then my face...", another wrote " Knowing we have the support back home, allows me to Hold my head up and puts a sping in my boots, it allows me to send my unit out one more day, knowing it is for people like you that we are here..."
Our sewing, baking, Military Child, newborns,Chaplain and Special Ops teams as well as the local "hands on", at VA facilities, both National and international, which includes some Veteran "Food Mobiles" of fresh produce and protein groceries, in major VA national cities, is doing awesome support. Women of Valour are caregivers who are silent caregivers for the wounded warrior. Recognition and support of their unrecognized role is the focus of yet another team.
Oft times you ship carepackages or cards and for extended periods never hear a response, yet you continue knowing the military are making untold personal sacrifices for our nation. "Raising morale" is a proactive step toward support of the Military familes and those who serve.
I have been an active member of several teams thru Soldiers' Angels, since 2004. I watched it grow from a simple marine request to his Mom to send extras for those who never received any mail to international volunyeers, making certain no person making personal sacrifices, so we can safely tuck our kids in feels forgotte.
I have received emails, hand written notes and even met a few that I supported over these years. Their remarks of feeling that without the letter, birthday wish or carepackage that let the maessage of support filter thru, morale and loneliness would have been unbearable.
So many unit or troop or shipmates asking to please send even a note to help booster the morale has been responded to. Some have written months after they returned home to contact me for the first time, saying that they were not "in a place" in spirit or morale, but that the card or letter made all the differance as it was the only contact beyond the camo world.
Soldiers Angels do this without expectation of a response for months on end, but when the occaional "chatty" card of recognition erases all the dry months of shipping blindly to a silent soldier, CG, Sailor, AF, National Guard, or Marin or for support during a birth without their deployed and miles from family or after the loss of a battle buddy or Veteran . Being able to reach the Veterans who returned home without the fan fare of having sacrificed many a family moment to secure our nations well being is an honor to belatedly welcome them home. ... Thru SA I volunteer at a VA facility and also have "filled in at gravesites so no one is left without the respect and honor they earned. Why have I set aside the time, effort and budget for this all these years? Why would I not? It is my proactive response to 9/11 and my father in law served at Pearl and many others as did my 25 yr veteran now retired husband. I would not do this if I didnt believe this the bridge to reach 1:1 the military and their family or veteran or a caregiver and military child in need.
Soldiers' Angels is such a wonderful way to give back to those defending our country. It gives me so much satisfaction knowing that I might brighten their day and lessen the "distance" from home. I hope the care packages bring a smile to their faces. Soldiers' Angels is remarkably organized. Their website makes it easy to volunteer and keep track of your opportunities. Their heirarchy of leaders is extremely informed and helpful, and their soical media presence makes getting advice and sharing with other angels a breeze!
I have been a volunteer with Soldiers' Angels since 2009. It is a wonderful opportunity to give back to those who sacrifice so much for our country and our freedom. Soldiers' Angels has so many different ways to help, from care packages, to family adoptions, to cards for vets. This is especially nice because it allows people of all income levels to do something. Although the majority of those to whom I've sent support are silent, I know that whatever I do makes a tremendous difference for them- and for me as well. Those who run the organization are knowledgeable and very helpful, and work very hard to make sure that every dollar donated is used to benefit those serving.
Wow! This is a fabulous way to volunteer from the comfort of your comfy chair at home. I am a member of almost all the teams and I love it! I send letters, cards, cookies, and care packages. I am very involved in this, spending time almost every day doing something as a Soldiers’ Angel. You can choose your level of involvement, even just sending one letter a month makes a difference. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that I am making a deployed military person or veteran smile and feel appreciated. I highly recommend volunteering and supporting Soldiers’ Angels.
I was a Soldier deployed in Afghanistan in 2010-2011. I signed up for Soldier's Angels and started receiving letters from my Angel Theresa immediately. Now that I am a Veteran, I chose to give back. I belong to the Ladies of Liberty group (female military only) and send a letter and care package each month. The Soldier's Angels is an amazing group of volunteers that definitely makes a difference in the Military personnel's lives while away from their family and friends.
I am so happy I joined this nonprofit almost 6 months now and love sending letters and packages to soldiers and love hearing from them. Only wish more people would be willing to send only 1 package or letter so someone they do not even know and who are protecting our County and leaving their loved ones for months and years at a time.
I recommend this site to everyone I see and one postal lady took the address and said she would love to do what I am doing. So thank you all .
Hello! I have been with Soldier's Angels for a few months now. I looked for a nonprofit organization that you could communicate with those men and woman in the Military. When i finally found this program I was just so excited. There had been an empty hole in my heart for awhile and once i joined Soldiers Angels that empty space was gone. It just like warmed my heart. I love each and every person i communicate with. I enjoy writing letters and sending cards. Soldiers Angels is a great way to tell all those in the Military how truly Thankful we are for all there services. Also how we will continue to support them in anyway we can.

I have been a volunteer withSoldiers’ Angels for almost 3 years and I love being able to send cards and letters to our deployed military as well as sewing quilts, blankets, hats, etc. for all those in veterans in VA facilities across the country.
This is a wonderful organization to volunteer with.
I have been a volunteer with Soldiers' Angels since early this year. I can't begin to tell you the satisfaction it brings to know that you are bringing a little bit of home to those deployed or putting a smile on a Veteran's face with a new hat or blanket. I just wish I had found them sooner!
I have been a volunteer for years and this group is such a special organization. As the daughter, grand daughter, wife, sister-in-law, and niece of veterans, I have wanted to do something to help. I can't change how the servicemen were treated coming back from Viet Nam, I can't take away the injuries that my father and husband received while in service, but I CAN do things to help our current service members and veterans, and that is something I never thought I'd be able to do. The variety of opportunities is awesome and I chose to be on the sewing and crafting team since it uses my skills....thank you for all that you do and for allowing me to contribute!!!
Hi, I'm Linda I have been a client at S.l.E.W. Cancer WellnessCenter for nine and a half years. It has been a blessing for me to be around other women who understand and have walked in my footsteps. S.L.E.W. has provided me with wigs, bra's and prosthesis at no cost. But most of all support, friendship, and have made me whole again. I can pick up my head and walk proudly.
I am on the Soldiers' Angels Baking team and learned about it through another baking group that I am apart of. It is a great way to show support of our soldiers. Each time I ship a box, I share my experiences with the original baking group and have gotten a great response from them and several more have joined as a result.
I was a Soldiers Angels volunteer waaaay back in the beginning of the 9/11 conflicts. I have since rejoined their teams to support those who sacrifice everything for our safety! They have COME A LONG WAY with organization as they are VERY organized and provide stellar support to volunteers! I would highly recommend them if you want to *send a little sunshine to our Service Members*.
I am currently a Team Angel assigned to a Letter Writing Team. I have volunteered for many years with various non-profit organizations who provide support for the United States Military and our Veterans. I have to say, the support that Soldier's Angels provides for our troops and its volunteers is by far some of the best.
Been a member since October 2016... currently on three teams. It's a wonderful organisation doing great things for US servicemen, servicewomen and their families around the world as well as in the US!
Helping out veterans by providing nutritional food items.
This is a great contribution to the veterans in our community. I look forward to the service when it's available to the veterans. Very organized, we appreciate your organization...
I am new to this nonprofit and I love what they are doing for the soldiers. They make you feel like you are part of an important team. AND, they are well organized.
