Bottom line, if you are local to this organization, you have heard many stories about financial mismanagement and lack of knowledge regarding animal care. They are selling an experience for humans, not a safe and caring haven for animals. I have met volunteers who have bailed out to help other organizations because they simply couldn't watch the poor animal care taking place at this one.

The best rescues combine both kind hearts and knowledgeable, experienced people and HorseSense is one of those rescues. They provide permanent, forever safe sanctuary to troubled horses that have been failed by their previous people. At HorseSense, these horses learn that there are people who can be trusted to bring food every day, to clean their areas, to make sure their hooves are trimmed and that they see the vet. They don't have to be anything other than loved. A wonderful place for an abused horse or pony to land!
