Review for GREY2K USA Education Fund, Arlington, MA, USA

Rating: 1 stars

Grey2K does nothing to help greyhounds. They exist only to shut down tracks, leaving hundreds of greyhounds without homes- endangering their lives. They do nothing to find homes for all these greyhounds, leaving the work to rescue groups across the country. They perpetuate myths about how the breed is managed and kept, using myths and anecdotes that are outdated and far behind the times. Anyone who believes that racing greyhounds- which sell for thousands of dollars as puppies- would be neglected and abused in some deranged attempt to enhance performance is seriously deluded. In turn, they exploit the breed in order to raise more money to keep themselves in business- a bureaucracy in search of a cause. Don't send them money; racing is dying out as it is. Economic forces will put most of the tracks under within a few years; no "help" from Grey2K is needed.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

reading their propaganda, misstatements, exaggerations, and flat-out lies about the greyhounds.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do a thorough audit to determine where their money is going.

Role:  General Member of the Public & Served in greyhound adoption for years.

This review was written by a dog racing supporter and is not factually accurate. The GREY2K USA supports greyhound adoption in many ways, and makes direct contributions to dozens of local adoption groups. Further, the research by the GREY2K USA Education Fund is recent and based on credible sources such as state records and mainstream news reports. Finally, the GREY2K USA Education Fund is an all-volunteer organization.
