This organization quite literally saved my life. My dog Asia is my lifeline. We are best friends and have been by one another’s side every single day since the day she was born- I literally was there and caught her and cleaned her when she was born. We don’t seperate and seeing her in pain makes me physically sick, she is like a child to me but more than that we are best friends, we live for one another. Unfortunately starting at 3 weeks of age Asia got the short end of the stick, the bad luck and mobility issues just continued to worsen and more issues popped up as time went on. Now after one surgery, weeks and weeks and weeks of water treadmill and physical therapy, meds that cost me 400$ per month, shockwave, acupuncture, you name it she’s had it and 15k at least in debt, her ccl became so diseased that it was completely gone and her arthritis so advanced, her knee so diseased all together that she needs a total knee replacement. I am a college student who has already put out a tremendous amount trying to make my girl comfortable and fix her ailments, so another 12k surgery made my heart drop. I knew I couldn’t do it, but how could I not, it’s what she needed? I reached out to a few organizations and FTLOA was one of them, and boy am I so grateful that I did. Abby emailed me within a day and called me later that day. They did not have the means to take on her case whatsoever but they were so empathetic that they still did. She said she would do a fundraiser on Facebook but wasn’t sure if we would reach the goal. Due to their incredible posts, followers, sharing and donors we reached our goal of 8,000$ which exceeded all of our expectations. They emailed me and were genuinely so happy. These people love what they do and love all of the animals they are involved with like their own. They are involved and so passionate about helping families and saving lives. They still keep in touch with me even though her surgery isn’t schedule until Sept and her fundraiser is over- it just shows how much they care. They are so excited for her surgery and are excited to follow her recovery and journey after surgery. Such genuine people and I am so forever grateful to them.
