I started as a teachers aide for the after school/homework program over 5 years ago. Not too long after that I was approached and asked to be a mentor to a younger student who was struggling in his work, in his community, and in his home. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, as I now witness my mentee transfer from a 2 year community college program (with great pride!) to his Bachelors program at Cal State San Francisco! So very proud to be a part of his legacy-a legacy built between a unique partnership known as A Place Called Home and the Los Angeles community.
