This is one of the most remarkable animal welfare charities for what they do. Their mission is to help animals get the medical care they need when their owner/family are unable to afford the cost themselves. I understand that they rely solely on donations from the public in order to do this and turn no animal away unless they are so heavily burdened with cases that they literally struggle to meet the financial demand. I “met” this group on Facebook quite some time ago and at first just followed some of their stories, but as my interest in animal welfare grew, I felt drawn to this organisation more and more, following every story, praying for the precious lives they provide care for and have also started giving when I’m able to.
I know that they are terribly overburdened at the moment and have had to temporarily close their casebook until the current financial commitment has been largely covered. I’m an Australian and give to them whenever I can - that’s how highly I regard them. Please, if you have a heart for animals in need, give to FTLOA - they will guarantee every cent goes into paying Vet Bills for seriously ill or injured animals who might otherwise have to be unnecessarily euthanised due to insufficient family funds. They don’t leave it there though, they follow up on their patients and report on how they are faring once they are discharged from Veterinary care and go home to their families. One story that springs to mind is of a beautiful kitty aptly named Miracle. Do yourself a favour and read the story - oh, and grab some tissues.
