My family lost my Dad a little over a year ago suddenly (in less than a four day span.) It left my family heartbroken and left my mom with very little income due to losing my dad's retirement. She's put on everywhere for a job but no one seems to want to hire a senior citizen. She was already taking care of her two special needs dogs (one who has a heart problem, the other who has a liver problem) when her cat Tiger was diagnosed with double renal failure a few months ago. She was devastated and had to figure out how to pay for his biweekly treatments. She was barely scraping by when Tiger's sister was diagnosed as diabetic, requiring insulin. I reached out to For the Love of Alex, knowing all the great work they do. I honestly didn't expect any help, just because we're usually the people who help others instead of people who ask for help. I was floored when FtLoA helped my mom in just a week's time, and with a lot more than we could have even hoped for. I cried, she cried. You're truly angels, Abby. We will pay it forward.
