I have been a volunteer mentor with WriteGirl for several years. What drew me to WriteGirl was their track record of helping teen girls get into college -- 100% of graduating seniors for the last 19 years. But this is also an incredible community of women writers and teens committed to inclusivity, diversity, equity and access for all voices to be heard.

Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach offers a terrific career mentorship program for teen girls called "Dream It, Be It." It's a seven-week program that helps girls at risk for additional challenges due to poverty, violence or teen pregnancy envision career possibilities and develop essential skills to achieve their career dreams. Evaluations of this program have been very positive, both from the girls and from the Soroptimists who have served as mentors.
