Review for Reins In Motion Foundation, Livermore, CA, USA
Reins In Motion Foundation provides one on one quality horse therapy to children and adults. Reins also has a program for Veterans and provides horse riding to the Taylor Family Foundation during their camping season. Each client has a team of individuals and their horse that helps them thru activities geared for their needs. The clients are stimulated and given a sense of empowerment over this big and kind creature. The horse is the only animal that walks as we do. When you take an individual with weak legs and place their hips on the horse, they walk for that client helping to build up core strength. This is the building blocks for the entire body. Sensory issues are dealt with along with encouragement of language. So many of these clients lack language and with rhythm of the horse and stronger core strength, language emerges. We have clients who are now sitting on own, crawling and walking on own since riding with the program. It is magical to watch and the horses love them unconditionally and give them a can do attitude.
In the Summer Reins will offer some Day at the Ranch Day Camp. Camp gives the children an opportunity to experience the great outdoors and spend time with their favorite animal, the horse. They spend time grooming, painting and sometimes giving the horse a bath. On one of those hot Livermore days, the horse and the client get relief from this activity.
Reins in Motion not only benefits the clients but the many volunteers that it takes to provide a safe and fun environment for all who participate.
Review for The Taylor Family Foundation, Livermore, CA, USA
The Taylor Family Foundation(TTFF) is an amazing organization that provides camping services to children with Life Altering issues. For many groups it is the only Camp that offers this kind of service for them. Their issues are extreme and each groups Staff and Medical Team Provide the help to make it an enriching experience for each and every camper. Many leave camp never to be the same. They have new found friends and greet each other each with exuberance. For many it is the only place that they can swim, ride a horse and experience the great doors with special provisions for each group to help provide a safe, fun and long lasting experience. They get to be a normal kid with other children with the same afflictions and find that they are not the only one suffering from that ailment that sets them apart from most children their ages. They share stories and experiences that help them cope in their daily life away from camp.
TTFF also provides support for the families of these children and so many other nonprofits in the area. It's not just the campers and families that benefit but the many volunteers that it takes to make the camps a success. Many organizations from around the Bay Area pull together to help provide programming for the campers while at camps. Being at Camp is magical and awe inspiring. It is a beautiful setting tucked up against the Del Valle Hills, one the many parks that the Bay Area has to offer.
TTFF's Day in the Park Fundraiser is an amazing event. Many individuals and corporations, celebrities from the many sports teams in the Bay Area, TV announcers, etc, come together to raise funds to support the endeavors of this organization. It is a magical event just as camp is Magical for the campers and their families.
