Review for Emmys Hope Rescue, Magnolia, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

"We adopted our dog from Emmy's Hope almost 4 years ago and have had continued contact with the rescue "director" who loves to receive updates and photos of the love bugs she has placed with families. With response to the review written by briar83crest stating that the "director" of this rescue is a "hoarder" , this comment is just disgusting ! This rescue is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit rescue and as a person who has been to Emmy's Hope location I can say that these dogs are kept in a clean, safe, and loving environment, where they are extremely well looked after and socialized on a daily basis. This is truly a labor of love for these people. If they would not place an animal with an applicant you can be sure it was for a good reason and truly for the best interest of the animal ! Apart from the application and "history check" they also come out and have a look at the home and yard to make sure the dogs can't get out or get harmed in any way. Does that sound like a hoarder to you? If they ask for two years of vet records as stated in the review by Wendy S, it's because the animals that they have up for adoption have been in many cases through horrible circumstances and often it is not in the best interest of the animal to be placed in the care of someone who does not have the correct experience or environment. It is not impossible to adopt a pet as I am living proof, and had I wanted a different dog, maybe our family or environment may not have been a good fit. Since this is not an SPCA type environment, it is based on quality not quantity of placement. Some of these dogs have come from puppy mills, hoarder situations, some have been abused or thrown out of vehicles. If she says that you are not a good fit, then there is a very good reason why. I'm sure she does not want a dog to be adopted, to then have them returned or worse, re-dumped only to cause more pain and trauma to the animal. These animals deserve to have a loving, appropriate forever home. In my opinion, if a reviewer writes slanderous accusations, it speaks volumes as to the type of person they are.
