Review for United Spay Alliance, Walkersville, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a feral cat feeder, I can vouch for the effectiveness of this wonderful organization: United Spay Alliance They have up-to-date information on spay and neuter programs and clinics (in all 50 states) that are a vital resource to me and so many others. They work with thousands of committed veterinarians all over the country through their statewide networks and promote the newest techniques of spaying cats and dogs before they go into heat (early age spay/neuter that prevents unplanned litters.) I am confident that every one of their donor dollars is used appropriately and stretched to the limits. I am personally grateful to United Spay Alliance.

Review for MARIAN'S DREAM: Philanthrophy for Animal Advocates (Marian Rosenthal Foundation), Brunswick , ME, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Marian's Dream is an animal advocacy group that offers help and advice to pet owners and people involved with the feral cat world. The current focus is a campaign called Feline Fix by Five months. I told Esther a year ago that a big void is that a lot of people do not fully understand the domestic cat reproductive cycle. I explained that if they did, and if they spayed early enough, that the problem of overpopulation could be greatly reduced.

I was then tasked with writing an informative article on the subject, and Marian's Dream was to ensure that this article would be widely disseminated. I wrote and they disseminated at the time through Brandpoint, a media company that placed the article (entitled The Queen) in over 1,000 newspapers nationwide. It has been a pleasure to work with Marian's Dream, finding ways to raise public awareness of when to spay cats in order to prevent mammary cancer, prevent spraying and marking and of course to stop the endless cycle of unwanted litters. This organization believes in tackling problems at their source.
