Review for Face in the Mirror Foundation, Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Hi I'm Anne, I have stage 3c ovarian cancer diagnosed in Nov. 2012 I will be on chemo for the rest of my life.
I try not to let it get me down, FIM was a real blessing to me at a time when the world fell apart for me and my family. A beautiful lady named Karina visited me around my second treatment. She was so upbeat and helpful, She helped me pick a wig for my upcoming baldness. She brought me a lovely quilted lap blanket, then a crocheted pin, head wraps, Shaklee products, and just before her last day at St. Joseph, a beautiful bracelet.
Gifts and massages don't take away the cancer, but the caring .loving way I was treated by Karina did at least make going to chemo less stressful. I miss her visits , there is no FIM presence in the new cancer center, I can still obtain Shaklee items by phone, but it's not the same. I talk with other patients and we all miss the pampering and love shown when we had FIM visits. I truly wish FIM could bring back Karina or someone to pamper us a little, the nurses are great, but like I told Karina, she is the only one who came in who wasn't going to stick us with needles. We had a chuckle over that remark, but seriously, bring that comfort back, it was a real gift. If you knew Karina, it was a treat to see what she would be wearing, and how she would do her hair, she always dressed up for us, she looked like she stepped out of a fashion magazine. Thank you FIM for the memories.
