The teas are amazing. New things to learn not only from the podium although I personally love being presented with good information and new perspectives of how to look and deal with our issues and concerns. At the teas we all also learn from the people we sit with and the new friends we make. FACE IN THE MIRROR is amazing.

Face in the Mirror (FIM) is the most wonderful charity in Arizona. I am a twice breast cancer survivor and FIM has done so much to raise my self esteem and make me feel happier and attractive. They hold a monthly tea party for everyone (men, women, children) who have had any kind of cancer. They offer free beautiful wigs They give us free beauty products that are not loaded with toxic ingredients. They make us feel special. Every month at the tea party they have special presentations which are fun, interesting, and informational. I feel very blessed to be in Arizona. I used to live on the East Coast and they had nothing as wonderful as this. I donate to FIM because while there are other good cancer organizations, I feel that FIM has been the best. I have also made fabulous new friends here and we support each other. Thank you FIM. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to FIM.

In 2008, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Brain Cancer. I was given 2 years to live & didn't know where to turn. No one around me understood what I was going through because they hadn't been in my shoes. Not that they didn't care, but because they just couldn't possibly know the fear of what lied ahead.
Face in the mirror foundation means so much to me. They do understand, Barbara has been there to see her sister suffer as we have, and She brings cancer survivors together, who do understand, and it allows us for that one day for to communicate with other cancer survivors, from newly diagnosed to long term survivor, and from brain cancer to breast cancer... no cancer is excluded.
We are made to feel we matter, feel beautiful and get much needed pampering. I have made very special friends through Face in the mirror, and have friends who have received the massages and wigs, and facials in their most dire moments. What they do for us on our Journey is priceless, and puts a smile on our face, as we escape, even for just a couple of hours, our daunting treatments, Doctors visits and days stuck in bed.
in 2015, my sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and lost her hair. I knew where to go, and I took her to Face In the Mirror's Tea party. She was given a wig, and the smile on her face was priceless.
If you are considering donating to Foundation that makes a difference... This is the one. They have touched my life, and gave me precious memories with 2 dear friends who lost their battles with Cancer. I am forever grateful to them and for what they do.

Oh and by the way... on the 28th I celebrate 9 years, and on the 26th, my sister celebrates 2!!- FIGHT THE FIGHT!!!!!

I have found the volunteers of "Face in the Mirror" to be compassionate and passionate about what they do. They have always been available and create a supportive environment for cancer patients. Going to their luncheons, getting massages, and receiving wonderful skin care products and make-up helped me feel feminine and pretty after a double mastectomy. Face in the Mirror is a wonderful organization.

As a recovering Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma patient, this organization has been a godsend. It has been there to lift my spirits, make me feel beautiful again, and give me a monthly outing to look forward to where I was treated like a queen and able to visit with others who understood what I was going through. I am able to "let my hair down" and share with my fellow cancer patients without censoring my words. We receive a beautiful meal, free organic personal Shaklee products, a massage/make over and wig fitting. This community "gets us" and knows what we need and desire. Thank goodness for a nonprofit that's main goal is to bring joy and hope to cancer patients.

I have been volunteering/working for Face In The Mirror for 9 years and I love the mission of FIM. Following are some of the beautiful words received from patients that have been touched by FIM's Mission. These words are the reason I LOVE my job.

Face in the Mirror has been a Godsend to me. Without FITM, I wouldn’t have had any real support or anything to look forward to (hugs, company, food, etc.). They have been fabulous & a ray of sunshine in a very dark time

Face In The Mirror is my main source of love and caring in what is so often a hurtful and painful world

With cancer, fear has enslaved my soul – but “Face in the Mirror” has given me a spirit of courage to fly and live again. So now when I look in the mirror, I see the face, of strength, hope, and a beautiful woman surrounded by all that life should be – Love

Face in the Mirror changed my cancer experience, changed my outlook in such a positive way. Thank you! Those who don’t have FIM are really losing out. I am sooo appreciative of everything FIM has done for me and my family.

(FIM is an) amazing organization that gives me strength and meet new people on the same journey. God has provided this great organization to be loved upon us.

If Face in the Mirror didn’t exist, I may have given up. When I first found out about FIM and came to my first tea, I thought “what a great organization”. I wanted to give back for the love they showed me.

Face in the Mirror has given us hope…. I have been able to go to a place where others have shared my journey and there is so much that I do not have to say…. It is all understood. I leave here with a full stomach, kind, wise, meaningful words….. and thoughts. Face in the Mirror is an experience filled with dignity. The product has helped me since my skin changed after cancer.

Face in the Mirror has helped me through the past 7 years feel more like a woman! They helped me fix the devastation that cancer did to my body. I am woman hear me roar.

I’ve met and made Friends with a lot of persons. I appreciate and love all the staff from Face in the Mirror and I feel all their love and they all care for all of us. I enjoy all the tea party’s I come to. They make me laugh, and we share the journeys we’ve been through, and feel supportive.

I love Face in the Mirror. It helps with my healing process to be surrounded by others who have and are experiencing the same thing. If we didn’t have Face in the Mirror, it would be a sad day. God Bless Face in the Mirror.

Face in the Mirror helps with feeling that you are not alone. Meeting others and connecting is important. Seeing survivors gives us hope and belief that you can live – again.

Face in the Mirror Foundation is a wonderful nonprofit and deserves recognition and funding. This is a foundation that truly gives. There is no standing in line or paperwork to fill out in order to receive. We, as cancer patients are given quality product for our faces. After treatment, the skin on my face changed so much that I did not know what to do. In walks a volunteer from Face in the Mirror while i was receiving treatment in the hospital and not only does she treat my face and hands to a massage, she dresses my face up in the most soothing makeup and then leaves me enough product so that I may continue on my own. Plus, I was invited to a tea party that occurs once a month. At the tea party, the tables were decorated with cloth and fresh flowers in vases. Volunteers wearing pink jackets were engaged in all sorts of activities from making sure I had a name tag and serving food to applying make up on newcomers to the tea party. I was provided a delicious lunch, more product, uplifting testimonials from cancer survivors and words of wisdom from a speaker. Any time I need product, I just call the Face in the Mirror office and they will send me product to my house or have it waiting for me to pick up at the next tea party. Over the years I have observed the faces of the women who regularly attend the tea parties. They look more relaxed; more content than they did in the beginning days of attending tea parties. I think this is so because they have a sense of belonging. That is the by product of what Face in the Mirror has done for us: we belong; we are part of a group; a holistic, upbeat; awe inspiring group that has been through much. Face in the Mirror provides us structure to be present in the moment and share our thoughts, concerns, smiles and joy with others who have walked in our shoes and others who are there to root us on. It is meaningful that the concept for Face in the Mirror originated with one of our own whose fight ended too soon and Face in the Mirror was started by someone close to her. So many layers; so much emotion; so much life is contained in the Face in the Mirror Foundation. It is a Foundation like no other, and therefore; deserves support in the same intensity that it gives.

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 and after surgery started my chemo regimen with Dr. Janicek at Arizona Oncology. What a blessing he and his staff have been. In early 2016 I was invited to attend a Tea Party at Face in the Mirror. I am not typically a social person, but did agree to give it a shot, hoping it would be a positive experience and not a 'Debbie Downer'! What a delightful experience!
It was a positive and upbeat atmosphere, a nice hand massage and a basket of lotions and potions plus a lovely luncheon served with beautiful smiling faces. Clearly this is something I look forward to attending . Recently 2 of my sisters. visited from out of state and attended with me. They were extremely impressed and loved the speakers as well. Face in the Mirror does good work for which I am so very grateful. Thank you. Connie

What an amazing organization to help anyone with cancer. And I mean anyone women, men all different type of cancer doesn't matter. What matters is the Love and resources they provide in so many ways. I continue to attend the tea parties where we who are survivors and we are all survivors of cancer can connect with others. And love that we can tell others on this cancer journey of this great resource. I would give this organization an A+ for the things I have seen for many many years. The smiles they put on faces is precious, no money can buy that but without donation how can they continue to provide so much. I thank the founder Barbara MacLean for keeping her promise to her sister Charlotte and changing the Face of cancer. To make others see the beauty of who they are with the gift of Love, Support and Hope.

Hi my name is Michele and I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in April 2015. When treatment caused my hair to fall out, Face in the Mirror, provided me with a beautiful wig that I'm still wearing. It's such a nice wig that enhances my face and people compliment me all the time. Additionally, they provided me environmentally green face creams and make up along with some head dresses. The ladies are so wonderful. This charity is very special and a real blessing to those in need.

Hi I'm Anne, I have stage 3c ovarian cancer diagnosed in Nov. 2012 I will be on chemo for the rest of my life.
I try not to let it get me down, FIM was a real blessing to me at a time when the world fell apart for me and my family. A beautiful lady named Karina visited me around my second treatment. She was so upbeat and helpful, She helped me pick a wig for my upcoming baldness. She brought me a lovely quilted lap blanket, then a crocheted pin, head wraps, Shaklee products, and just before her last day at St. Joseph, a beautiful bracelet.
Gifts and massages don't take away the cancer, but the caring .loving way I was treated by Karina did at least make going to chemo less stressful. I miss her visits , there is no FIM presence in the new cancer center, I can still obtain Shaklee items by phone, but it's not the same. I talk with other patients and we all miss the pampering and love shown when we had FIM visits. I truly wish FIM could bring back Karina or someone to pamper us a little, the nurses are great, but like I told Karina, she is the only one who came in who wasn't going to stick us with needles. We had a chuckle over that remark, but seriously, bring that comfort back, it was a real gift. If you knew Karina, it was a treat to see what she would be wearing, and how she would do her hair, she always dressed up for us, she looked like she stepped out of a fashion magazine. Thank you FIM for the memories.

Many not for profits are out to make a difference - but this one stands above them all! Folks do not have to come to them for help... folks do not have to seek them out... THEY come to those NEEDING the help and what a help they are! In a world centered around hussle and bussle these folks take the time to STOP, and TOUCH the human at what may appear to be the worst time of their lives!

We need more foundations as this.. one that cares about the people it services much more than that mission or foundation itself.

My name is Amy and I have Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. The first day that I went to the infusion lab to receive chemotherapy was the scariest day ever. It was the unknown of what was going to happen, what side effects would I suffer, and would it all work and save my life. I was greeted by wonderful people from the front office to the nurses and all were fantastic and professional! But the moment that Corina, from Face In The Mirror walked in and said "I am here to comfort you through this experience" I was truly relieved for the first time. She offered the comfort of a warm smile, a loving touch as she massaged my feet, and she played lovely, calming music. She was so kind and comforting and as if the massage wasn't enough, she gave me lotions, makeup, and other care products to take home. She offered to help me with makeup tips and wig fittings as though needs came up. I was overwhelmed by how kind this organization was and that it all stemmed from the love of one sister to another. So beautiful! If I won the lottery, I would donate every penny to this organization so that they can continue to take the worst time in a person's life and add some hope!

As a breast cancer survivor, I understand the feelilng of loss which is reflected in many ways, not the least of which is the aspect of feminity. I support friends who are going through the process of loss and healing after their diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Recently a friend related her experience of first day chemo when a lady she described as "angelic" ministered to her a facial and hand massage. It was so welcomed and comforting on that particular long, tiring day of treatment. The "angel" was a volunteer from Face in the Mirror. I was invited to be this friend's guest at Face in the Mirror's monthly tea at St Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. It was most uplifting to watch others currently undergoing treatment , and experience for myself, the special gift of personal beauty products, a speaker with a positive message, and lovely spread of food to nourish our physical senses.
This organization does a great service and I support the effort to grant them special nonprofit status.

Laying in my hospital room with a collapsed lung 3 days after my first of two breast cancer surgeries, a friendly woman walked into my room. She was from Face in the mirror. I can't say I was very responsive to her visit but as she patiently talked, I felt comforted that someone was reaching out to me as I felt overwhelmed. I was so delighted that someone cared about the emotional repercussions of my surgery and wanted to address the fact that I felt less than beautiful after my surgery. This organization has proved to be a sisterhood that understands what a women goes through after breast surgery. I cannot thank them enough for giving me a much needed boost and for recognizing the emotional toll, not just physical of breast cancer. Thank goodness for their fantastic work!

I first encountered Face in the Mirror two months after completing treatment for invasive breast cancer. Trying to eat healthy foods to boost my energy and immune system, navigating the ongoing oral chemo minefield with new negative side effects popping up almost weekly, dealing with well-meaning friends and family who still gasped when they saw me and heard "CANCER" - the last thing I time time/energy for was my physical appearance. I went to an event sponsored by my Cancer Wellness Center where I was getting help with medical and treatment information as well as support. The wonderful volunteers from Face in the Mirror took me in hand, gave me a complete facial, then step by step applied makeup to help me look and feel like I had rejoined the company of the living once again - even giving me full sized containers of the products (botanical/organic) they used so I* would be able to duplicate it at home. I looked like me again and as a result, began feeling that as well. A wonderful lift when I needed it most.

I was very excited to go to Face in the Mirror. I have attended one time and I probably will never go again. After lunch for the rest of the two hours the facilitator wept and begged those in attendance for money. I felt this was extremely inappropriate to beg clients for money as everyone there was either a patient or a caregiver. I felt like I was supposed to pay for being there and the service was not free as advertised. When people are sick and this is supposed to make you feel better, no one wants to feel like you owe them for their time and false sense of concern for your welfare. I would definitely not recommend this group to any person going through serious medical issues.

As the founder and operating the Mission 10 years ; pampering over 40,000 patients to date, we made this Mission one that would be and is, totally complementary. For 8 years thousands have attended the FIM tea. All for free. I regret you had the impression that FIM would be charging for the tea? Sadly, making you feel uncomfortable. Our pledge... as long as we can, is NO one pays for teas, products, service, nothing! As you found out, our tea was free, as is the valet who parks your car, a bag of $300.00 worth of free products, if you needed one, a wig if needed, scarves, hats, and all the follow up service. Possibly we would be better off financially if we did charge. But against many of my board members wishes and recommendations, we have made it this far by donations and sponsors, miracles, and taking another job to keep it open! If I am not mistaken, you attended one of our teas At this one were very excited in planning for 100 patients to have a special afternoon, and to walk down a runway, get a new outfit and sign up so we could find a donor to pay their way. It was suggested if anyone could find a sponsor ...all the better. No one did and we found 100 patients a seat @$100 each. Our world would be perfect if all good things came free. In the case of Face in the Mirror, it is our Mission, promise, and commitment. Your story is one of a kind. Wishing you all good things :).

Face in the Mirror is a truly amazing organization that brings comfort, hope and empowerment to those suffering from cancer. The moment I learned of Face in the Mirror and their mission I knew I had to get involved. Cancer is an illness that has scarred all of us in some way, whether it is through a personal battle with it, or seeing a family member or loved one go through the debilitating effects of it. Face in the Mirror is doing more than pampering cancer patients; They are touching the inner person, giving back dignity and hope and reflecting their inner strength to conquer their illness.

They even gave me a beautiful embroidered bag with all minds of skiin care products. When you pay large amounts for medication it is easy to forget the little extras such as make up and skin care. Our first contact with Face in the Mirror occurred as our cousin was suffering from cancer. We spent each Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with her. On one specific Wednesday morning she seemed to be more chipper than usual. We found out the reason for that was Carina, from Face in the Mirror was coming. We saw the whole thing, the expectations of the patient before, the massage during and the after glow. What a marvelous gift this was. One that I will never forget.

As a cancer patient myself, I have also received gifts from Carina and want you to know they are greatly appreciated.

Face in the Mirror is a wonderful foundation and deserves your support.

Awwwwww Susan...our dear friend. Not only my personal friend, but truly one of Face In The Mirror's Mission ! We were blessed to meet her and get to really know her and do as much as we could for her, while on her long walk with Ovarian Cancer. Thank you for recognizing this on her behalf. I Loved her so much as did many ...and miss her as I feel you do as well ...thank you for speaking to our Mission and it's effects and how they came to help Susan. She would have loved that! Her support and love carried my heart for years. May you continue to spread our good works and please stay in touch. Hugs. Barbara
