Review for A Place Called Home, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I loved APCH! I decided to volunteer for APCH because I got the opportunity to do this six week long fellowship. From the start the staff kept me very busy and I appreciated that very much. I got to know the members, staff and vistas pretty well. The atmosphere is positive and everyone is working hard all the time. I wish I could have stayed all summer long and kept helping out. This place is a home for most children and it's because of the many people who work together to make a difference.
Review for Youthlinc, Salt Lake City, UT, USA
Going on a humanitarian trip to Guatemala was so rewarding in so many ways! I was able to come back and be a more appreciative and grateful person. There are so many great memories I will forever cherish! My leaders were amazing and I truly miss my mentors who were there for me every step of the way. I learned a lot from being in their community and about team work. I do think that there needs to be more emphasize on being a civically engaged person in the community (long term) coming back home.
