Review for Wounded Warriors Family Support, Omaha, NE, USA
Wounded Warriors Family Support has been a blessing to our family. We were introduced to Wendy a few years back through a caregiver friend, right before I was due to have major surgery... She quickly set up meals and cleaning services for our family during my recovery period... then we had a death in the family, I needed to fly out of town..being my husbands full-time caregiver, she arranged to cover for someone to come in to the house while I was gone... Then our case was turned over to Stacia... and our family suffered a horrific accident... they were there for us again... and just this past December, I was hit head on... and yet again, they helped us, because I was laid up... It is all about helping the family in times of need.. We were also blessed to attend a retreat with Wendy in Virginia one year, what an amazing time that was.. number one, just to MEET HER in person, number 2.. the place was AMAZING! To say this organization, goes above and beyond to support the family and caregiver does not say enough. We have been more than blessed and are eternally grateful for all they have done for us...Thank you Wounded Warriors Family Support, and all your wonderful Staff.
Review for Our Military Kids, Inc., Oakton, VA, USA
My husband is a wounded warrior, he served 2 tours of duty,in Kuwait and Iraq.He returned home with a Traumatic brain injury, severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, a shoulder and hip injuries, along with many other things. During his deployment my 3 boys were the recipients of Our Military Kids grants, which enabled them to go to karate and take guitar lessons ,all of which I would have never been able to afford on my own. It gave them a sense of well being, and helped them get through the tough times. Then dad came home a changed man, no one could adjust, my youngest didn't even know his dad... the middle son had issues...This past spring We received a wounded warrior Our Military Kids grant for my middle son... he did pottery classes with his dad. IT WAS AN AMAZING BONDING EXPERIENCE! Something my son has wanted to do forever, and something he could do with his wounded dad..... it made a world of difference. Then this summer my youngest got the experience of a life time thanks to Our Military Kids, he was able to go to go to camp at American Wanderer RV Summer Camp for kids, he came home happy, excited, smiling for the first time in the short 11 years he has been here on earth. Our family can not thank the donors who have donated, the people who work for Our Military Kids, and everyone else invoked enough...your organization has mad an everlasting impact on all 3 of my son's lives. We are humbled, and forever grateful. The Wilcox family
