I love the Forever Young Foundation! They do so much good for kids around the country and world. They recently established Sophie's Place which is a music therapy program to help kids heal. I am especially grateful for Sophie's place because my 18 year old nephew Davis, who in non verbal and has tuberous sclerosis and autism, has benefitted from the amazing music therapists at Primary Children's Medical Center. One day at the hospital my sister and my nephew had 90 minutes to kill between appointments so they visited Sophie's Place. Davis immediately sat down at the piano and was SO happy to play the two notes that he always plays, C&G. One of the therapists sat down next to him with her guitar and they did a duet together which Davis loved. He even made eye contact with her and loved the experience. My nephew spends a lot of time crying to communicate because he has no other wait to express what he wants and needs. I am so grateful that Sophie's Place helped my sister have an amazing 90 minute experience with my nephew in a time that could have otherwise been very difficult!
