Review for Soldiers' Angels, San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been with Soldiers' Angels for going on 6 years and it never ceases to amaze me! I have had a lot of fun supporting many soldiers and have gotten my young nephews involved in helping me with the task of coloring pictures and making mail for our soldiers as well. There is a $1 fee per month that some were not happy about, but this $1 fee is just fine with me. It goes to help fund the organization and if I can do without 1 soda a week to help send a care package to a soldier or to help keep our site up and running then so be it! It is also a good reminder to hold people accountable to actually make sure they are using the site productively. Standard Operating Procedures have now been put in place that better explains what our roles are in each group. Soldiers, Veterans, and their families are supported. I am really excited about a new group called Women of Valor that supports Female Caregivers. The caregiver I am supporting is very depressed and my cards and care packages are what help her get through each day as she fights to support a husband that was injured fighting for our country. There are also the many soldiers who write back through mail and email that are so glad to have a kind word because they have no other support from home. Soldiers Angels is a family that takes care of people who may be abandoned otherwise so I am so proud to be a volunteer with such an amazing organization. It brightens my day to know that I can support those who are supporting me with their sacrifices and hard work!
