Review for Honor and Remember, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Last year on my son, Curt Fike's 30th birthday, Mr. Tom Mitchell accompanied us to the Dayton National Cemetery where he presented my family with an Honor and Remember flag in Curt's honor. I am so proud of that flag. I display it at my house regularly throughout the warm weather months hoping to show how proud of my son we all are and to always, always keep him in our thoughts and prayers. We are teaming up with Tom Mitchel January 24 to hold a benefit in honor of Curt and the Honor and Remember organization hoping to raise money so that many, many other families can be presented this honorable memory of their fallen loved one. Being a survivor, our utmost endeavor is to make sure that Curt is never, ever forgotten. This organization has ensured that this will never happen. Again, I thank all who are involved in making these flags be available to families of our heroes....Semper Fi.

help get the word out and promote this worthy cause. I am dedicated to helping those who survive the loss of a loved one through the military. Anything and everything we can do to bring honor to these heroes and families is important.

Review for Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors, Arlington, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I know I would not be sitting here typing today if it wasn't for TAPS. I lost my son, a 29 year old Marine, to suicide in 2012. I had no idea where to turn for help and support. This tragedy was something no parent should ever have to live through. With the constant, and I mean constant support from TAPS almost a year out from the day I lost him, I am finally seeing the light of day and am slowly beginning to live my life again. Their services cover every single aspect of grief, available services in your specific area, peer mentoring, unbelievable seminars and most of all.....love and concern. Thank you TAPS for all that you do for us. Without you, I don't know where we'd be.

I would like to see TAPS open more information to legal aid. With the passing of a young person with no will, the legal system can be overwhelming, to say the least. Especially when parents are divorced and don't see "eye to eye". It's been almost two years and I still don't have my son's estate settled, after I've spent more than I should have had to to get such a small estate settled. If there IS legal help out there, I would like some information.
