Review for Miracles of Hope Inc., Gainesville, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

In 2008 my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. In 2011 his insulin pump malfunctioned and he went into a coma for 3 days. In 2012 I learned about diabetic alert dogs. I was so excited. I thought I had found the perfect place to get my son a D.A.D. But it didn't work out. After going through yet another place, we found Miracles of Hope. Robert was amazing. He helped me to get everything ready including the mindset of what it was going to take to get and train a Diabetic Alert Dog for my son. That was in 2013. On April 4th 2014 we met Brett the Miracles of Hope trainer at the airport to meet Hawk, my son's Miracle Dog, for the first time. He started alerting after just 2 weeks. I worked with him a lot because they have to transfer from alerting on scent samples to the actual child, but Hawk did amazing. I cannot put into words how much I appreciate Miracles of Hope and what they have done for us. I can finally sleep at night.

Review for 1Boy4Change, Inc., Morriston, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

1boy4change has given me hope again. My son has type 1 diabetes that is at its best erratic and hard to control. He will spike to extremely high sugar levels for no reason, but we have to bolus for them. Then if we do not watch he will crash faster than he spiked. They have been there for me when I needed to talk willing to help me no matter what to help my son have a healthier, happier life. I feel like I have gained an extended family, one that finally understands what I go through being the mother of a special needs child. We do not have our service dog yet, since we just started the process last month, but I know that it will be a life changing event for my son once he is trained. I have hope again, and that is a wonderful thing.
