Review for Journeys End Ranch Animal Sanctuary, Kingman, AZ, USA
My first experience with Journey's End was to transport a dog named "Tucker" from one of the dog pounds to the sanctuary. Journey's End is way out on a dirt road, and as I drove up I wasn't sure what I was getting into. But Cathy came running out to greet me and Tucker. It was the middle of the hot summer, and Tucker had an ear infection and was filthy. Cathy gave him a cool soapy bath as she assessed what he was going to need. She had a little bed and isolation area all prepared for him. She gave me a tour of her rescue, and I was quickly won over by the amount of care and love that each of her animals receives. She interacts daily with each and every animal, and you can tell by the way they respond to her when she is nearby. It warmed my heart to be at her ranch. Since then, this has been my favorite local rescue. Cathy is GREAT with using media and Facebook. I was able to keep tabs on Tucker because she posted updates with photo and video on his progress....I watched him digging in mud, romping with another hound, and running, playing, and smiling. I watched Tucker transform from a flat, irresponsive dog into a playful, loving guy with a sparkle in his eye. Tucker has since gone on to a forever home. Cathy has a small list of volunteers and she knows how to delegate tasks efficiently to get alot of work done, although she herself works from sunrise to sunset for the welfare of her animals. I love Journey's End. This is how it is supposed to be.
