Review for A Place Called Home, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I volunteered for APCH over the summer as a homework tutor, and it was great. Since I didn't have much experience working with children beforehand, assisting such a large class of 8-11 year olds was a bit daunting at first, but the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The kids are sweet and hilarious! With such an overcrowded school system in LA, it's awesome to be able to give children the individual attention they need. The longer you volunteer with APCH, the more opportunity you have to create special bonds with the kids and be a positive influence in their lives. Highly recommended!
