Review for Central Virginia Horse Rescue, Fredericksburg, VA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I love CVHR I would be there more often if I could. It is so awesome to see a scared or sick horse come in and be a part of turning them around. Not all stories have a happy ending but we do everything we can to make it the best it can be. The horses here are well loved and evaluated and then put up for adoption and the happy ending for them is a new forever home. It is hard to let them go. CVHR is on of those rescues that puts horses first. Cindy pours her heart and soul into the place. Sometimes it is a hard job and others it is the very best one you could have. It is just a great place to be a part of.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I think the biggest victory from me was when we saved Lazarus. He was destined for slaughter and Cindy stepped up. It was so awesome to see this magnificant beast whom some said was old, arthritic, and used up gallop across the pasture like he was free at last. Laz is my picture of a real rescue with a happy ending.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

A work in progress always is upkeep of the facilities and there are plans in the works just waiting for the money to be available. So the only changes would be to keep fixing up older facilities

Role:  Volunteer & I clean stalls and grounds and work with the horses nurturing and teaching and mostly loving them.
