Review for Alliance of Hope for Suicide Loss Survivors, Evanston, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I'm a Vietnam Veteran and suicide survivor. Many of my comrades committed suicide after completion of their overseas service. PTSD was not acknowledged or being treated 42 years ago when we returned home. And when someone(s) as close as military buddies are takes their life, the wound is even deeper than usual.

I find the Alliance of hope to fill a need that is lacking anywhere else. The level of caring, compassion, along with the high level of professionalism are a wining combination in the health care area.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

In addition to finding healing for a wound I thought would never heal, I've shared the Alliance of Hope with other veterans and veteran groups, and will be instrumental in getting the Veteran's Administration, the Department of Defense and all the various veteran's organizations to see the enormous service the Alliance of Hope provides.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would implore funders of non-profits world-wide to contribute to the Alliance of Hope, so that the organization can serve the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of suicide survivors.

Role:  Board Member & I assisted the Executive Director in directing the attention of the Allicance if Hope to the high suicide rate of veterans.
