I have been a supporter of the Center for many years. Being an avid outdoor individual (camping, hiking, birding), the Center is my voice, not only for the wildlife and wild places I hold dear, but for the diversity that makes us all unique. Today our world and those that inhabit it are at risk of annihilation by those who care so little, if nothing at all, for the treasures we have and that are risk of being lost forever. The Center strives to address the issues our natural world is facing and gives voice to and fights for those who are most vulnerable. The Center will always have my support.

Volunteering with Endangered Species International was a truly transformative experience that allowed me to contribute directly to the protection of our planet's most vulnerable wildlife. I spent my time working alongside passionate experts on field project, where I helped monitor critical habitats and implement conservation strategies for endangered species. The most rewarding aspect was seeing how our team's efforts in community training and habitat restoration directly supported local ecosystems and the survival of rare animals. This journey not only deepened my commitment to environmental stewardship but also gave me the incredible opportunity to be part of a global movement fighting to solve the species extinction crisis. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of ESI and contribute my little help.

There is no place like this anywhere! I've been following Craig since the beginning, and still revel at what he's accomplished for all these beautiful creatures. Craig is unstoppable in his efforts to give these once majestic creatures a safe place, with so much space, to become their beautiful selves again. I share Craig's masterpiece with everyone and anyone who will listen, visit and donate. I've worked in rescue organizations all over the country, and The Wild Animal Sanctuary is by far the most conducive to bringing these animals truly home.

I have followed BCR online for several years, going back to when they still had cats on property. Their care of the cats was outstanding. They were great at engaging with the public and keeping people informed about every cat. When BCR decided to merge their cats into Turpentine Creek, it was done very thoughtfully and intentionally, so that the cats would continue to be cared for at that level, and also so that funds could now be dedicated to helping big cats all over the world, living free in their natural habitats. BCR continues to engage the public in this new endeavor, and it is apparent they are making a big difference by partnering with conservation efforts all over the world.

Blind Cat Rescue provides a forever home to blind, FIV+ and FeLV+ cats. No expense is spared in their care. I have visited the sanctuary and have observed the care they provide.

VOLUNTEER, DONOR Best Friends Animal Society is Heaven on Earth. I have been travelling there from Pennsylvania twice a year for 17+ years. Their passion, mission, dedication and devotion are unsurpassed. They follow through on their promises. They respect and love each and every animal that comes into their care. The caregivers are exceptional human beings. Extremely hard working - because they truly care, not because it's 'work'. The values of the people are pure and they have an incredible amount of knowledge of animals and rescues - and especially those whom they care for. The sanctuary is beautiful, peaceful, organized and well run. I cannot say enough about this place that has literally added one of the most important aspects to my life and my heart.

i really can not praise this place enough. they helped me when i was tight spot and couldn’t afford a vet bill on top of just moving and it being a slow season at my job. athena answered my email that day and after sending over my estimate she had contacted the vet on the very next business day. everything was done quickly and professionally and my best friend, steven was saved. i will forever be thankful to them!

I volunteer at Save the Horses every Saturday, rain or shine. It’s here I met Boris, the “love of my life”. At STH rescue animals and people all get a second chance!

Last Chance for Animals does not hold back when it comes to seeking out animal abuse and abusers. They immediately take decisive action and won't stop until their mission is accomplished. Last Chance makes those of us concerned with animals aware of so many bad situations and offers a chance for the public to help. I know they have made a huge difference. I believe in them, donate, and sign petitions, and follow progress they are making.

I’m truly thankful for the kind people at Texas Chihuahua Rescue. I adopted a very sweet boy from them a month ago. I was very impressed at how thorough the approval process is. Their dedication to ensure adopters will provide a safe and loving home was very clear to me. All the volunteers obviously want the best for these rescues. I would recommend this organization as well as the Canadian Team who arranged/approved me adopting Monty (Pauly)

We had a Purple Finch on our patio recently with it's eyes closed. We reached out to Fellow Mortals and they called us right back to give us details on what to do and set up an appointment the next morning to bring him in. The receptionist was very friendly and the gift shop had a nice variety of items. We received paperwork detailing the little guys diagnosis. Very efficient and much needed organization in our area!

I have been a long time supporter of AAVS and we should all be thankful for the hard work they do. Many animals have been saved from fear and suffering in labs and elsewhere because of their work. It takes a special group to do what they do and I’d give them 10 stars if I could!!

I absolutely love Clare and what this sanctuary does for wild horses. If half the world had hearts like Clare we would all be so much better off! Thank you Skydog for continuously loving and caring for the American Mustangs!

You want candid? Ok then! Liars and scammers of the first order. Anyone giving money to these shysters needs their heads examining-the two founders love running round the world on your money, whilst doing pretty much zip for greyhounds and you lot donating keep falling for it! See the two attached photos for one of their lies about retired greyhounds being voluntary blood donors-they quickly deleted their post once it was shown up to be a lie, bit like the tine they lied about another picture. claiming it was a picture outside a 'training premises' when it was actually a quarry then they blanked out the quarry sign . Not to mention them blagging cash under false pretences, the third picture shows them shamelessly hustling money for dogs that they have nothing to do with-racing and their adoption groups would be sorting out all rehoming of dogs in NZ, and NONE of them have anything to do wirh Greed2k or their money. CT also blocked people who asked them where the money they blagged in the same way for the Mexico dogs went and wouldn't answer any questions posed as to what happened to the cash.....

During my long career I worked for many different companies and institutions, and I have to say that Charleston Animal Society has become my favorite one. The staff is highly dedicated to the welfare of the various animals in their care. Everyone is very knowledgeable, and simply a joy to work with. Despite having been a volunteer for many years now - spay/neuter clinic, laundry, enrichment, fundraising events, special projects, clerical support - I am still getting only a glimpse of all the many activities and programs that are going on behind the scenes. It is amazing for me to see busloads of cats and dogs being brought in from other shelters to be spayed and neutered in addition to their own. I always like to compare CAS to a well-oiled machine because they can accomplish so much.

I retired in 2024, and was seeking volunteer involvement with a unique organization that would allow me to utilize my background as an EA and contribute administrative assistance duties that would contribute directly to the success of the organization. <br><br>I found all this with In-Sync. I was welcomed with open arms and have since been assisting with donor relations as well as having small parts in some events. <br><br>Prior to applying as a volunteer, I researched online using various searching techniques and then made a solo visit to the facility and walked the grounds. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the enclosures and the obvious great care of the animals. There were colored T-Shirts (I later learned these shirts reflect varying levels of expertise) busy in many areas, working on cleaning enclosures, and maintenance of the grounds. Being a cat lover, I was in love, my first visit. <br><br>I continue to be very impressed, and touched, with the level of attention and care these creatures receive – most certainly, regarding their health. Some arrive in very poor shape and are nursed back to health. They receive scheduled health maintenance from teeth to tail. Special focus is given to the happiness of each animal. These folks really know these creatures - their likes, dislikes, favorite foods and even their favorite toys. <br><br>Since I started in August of 2024, I have met some of the warmest hearts and dedicated people who are Staff as well as long-time volunteers. The volunteers are much appreciated, and it shows. The learning opportunities are endless and fascinating. The opportunities are never forced and if I cannot, or choose not to, participate in a certain event or task, it's never an issue. This makes it a extremely pleasant experience. and lends directly to the desire to stay a part of In-Sync. <br><br>This has been a wonderful experience for me. I am so glad that I took that step and reached out to them.

Have adopted, have had pets neutered...... I LOVE this place!

Hero Rats, APOPO, is an amazing organization doing amazing things for communities and families both far and wide. I virtually adopted one of their rats, Ronin, and feel extremely rewarded every month seeing the results of my donation. We as humans need to be better at sharing both empathy, resources, and education. What these rats and wonderful volunteers are doing is truly making a difference in our world.

I adopted 3 dogs, 2 adult and 1 puppy. They have been the most behaved, loving dogs. No health issues and super friendly. Melissa does an amazing job keeping up with all the animals she rescues. Most have come from places that would have either euthanized them or were abusive. She makes sure they are well taken care of before adopting. She is easy to get ahold of and will help out any way she can to get them adopted to loving families. I would highly recommend adopting from this refuge.

I reached out for assistance with emergency care for a neighborhood cat that ‘adopted us’. Cassandra contacted me within 24 hrs and had a vet appt set up by the end of that day! She was so helpful and friendly. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this organization and the people involved for what they do for our animals. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

As a volunteer with Marley's Mutts I am able to see first hand how dedicated this organization is to helping animals. The entire staff is passionate, conscientious, and diligent in their efforts to provide loving homes to the animals in their care. It is inspiring to be a volunteer for them and see how devoted they are to what they do.

It's sad to see that so many of the reviewers on Great Nonprofits don't understand what the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is and does! The local humane society in your community is a separate organization. Humane Society International (HSI)is a separate organization. <br> <br>HSUS deals with "big picture" issues of animal abuse, neglect, dog fighting, hunting, and other policies within the US. They share "best practices" and support of all sorts with small welfare and advocacy groups across the US. They help local agencies investigage large cases; they help local agencies rescue massive cases of hoarding, abuse, neglect... One relatively new area of focus that makes me hopeful for companion animals is on how to create equity in accessing pet care, as vet costs skyrocket. <br> <br>I have worked with and learned from their programs, and have great respect for HSUS. They work to maximize the impact of the funds donors give them in addressing the issues affecting animals across the US. <br> <br>No nonprofit is perfect, but please learn more about the work a group does before you write a review of them.

Rikki's Refuge Animal Sanctuary, under the Life Unlimited of Virginia umbrella, is an all-life, no-kill sanctuary currently home to nearly 1,300 animals of 22 species. For many, this is the last hope to live out their lives with love, food, shelter, medical care, friends and pass away quietly with those friends in attendance when the time comes. The incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to make Rikki's a safe and welcoming haven, both for the animals and the people who care for them. Drive through the gates, along the rainbow fence (a symbol of hope and love) and visit with the horses, sheep, cows, ducks, goats, pigs....All of them are well-cared for and well-fed! We exist on private donations and a lot of volunteer labor. Thank you, all, because we couldn't have done this over 20 years without you!
