Thank you for all you do for America's wild horses. Your bottomless heart and determination is an inspiration. I am honored to be a Patreon.
I was introduced to Skydog Sanctuary on Instagram by my sister, who was inspired to share her discovery of the site. I look forward each day to seeing pictures or videos of the beautiful wild horses and/or burros and hearing the stories of their rescue, healing and new life. It is heartwarming and gratifying to have access and see the goodness towards and care of these magnificent animals. Skydog Sanctuary is an outstanding example of what kindness and goodwill are all about. G. Boros
I discovered Skydog Sanctuary on Instagram. Knowing little to nothing about horses, burros or wild mustangs, I found Clare’s postings of her rescues so inspiring I became a monthly donor. I shared her information with family and friends and encouraged them to become supporters as well. What Clare and her staff go through to rescue these animals, ensure they keep families and friends together, treat the injured, heal the sick and then provide them all a safe place to live out their lives freely, is nothing short of miraculous. Check out Skydog Sanctuary, I guarantee you will be changed by what you see, hear and read.
Skydog is doing fantastic work! They really care about the animals and they are very good at raising awareness about the situation with the wild horses and burros. They are the best there is in the sanctuary world!
I first heard about Skydog in 2017 from a Gerard Butler photo with the Skydog foals. It was intriguing to me so I Googled the charity and started to donate to help these wild horses who were being chased down by helicopters, separated from their families, penned up and sold at auctions often times to kill buyers for their meat in other countries where it is legal. I have never been disappointed by the goodness, love and care that each of the Skydog rescues receive and how they thrive. God Bless the dedicated humans who strive to rescue these wild horses from a life of devastation, mistreatment and sometimes death forced upon them by our government.
I am a monthly Donor and supporter of Skydog Sanctuary. I found Skydog almost 2 years ago while I was going thru some tremendous loss and was looking for something to feel better about. I have always loved horses and as I read the stories of the rescues Clare was helping I found the light out of my pain. I wanted to help in any way I could as these horses/burros came from many different backgrounds and sad situations. The work they do at Skydog is absolutely amazing and sometimes heartbreaking but the rescued horses that have landed there are living their best lives. I have learned so much about these horses and their resilience, love, family bonds, friendships and their capacity to forgive. I highly support all the work and effort Clare and her team do at Skydog and encourage anyone interested to join.
I'm a monthly (very small) donor, and I love the access I have to these beautiful horses. She sends updates regularly regarding the Sanctuary. It's a very unique experience. Claire and her team do so much for these animals and it's incredible to watch.
I love all animals, but everybody must decide where they can best focus. Fortunately, those of us who can’t rescue horses first hand have Skydog, a dedicate mustang, horse, and burro rescue and sanctuary. They take the broken ones, the impossible saves, the ones bound for slaughter, and the damaged. They help them and nourish them and let them find their free spirits again. They reunite families, allow friends to stay together and make all of us donors believe the impossible can happen! We have seen it time and time again. We all feel that we are a part and that we are there watching the horses run free in the huge pastures. One of the best rescue/sancuaries I have ever known.
Huge hearts and amazing results. I support them monthly and as they need it. They do what I wish I could do for these amazing animals.
Skydog Sanctuary has become a favorite charity of mine. Clare is hands on every step of the way for each precious life who is rescued from a living death in kill pens and has the acreage to bring them home and be the wild mustangs and Burroughs they were before capture. There is nothing wrong with rescuing one or two equine and rehoming them on a few acres, but Skydog actually has 9000 acres to bring home families and groups of wild ones captured and places them in the wild again to live the lives they were meant to be! On protected land, to live free for all their days! I have never run across a Sanctuary like Skydog. They not only have acreage in Malibu, but Oregon!! I can not praise them enough. PLEASE FOLLOW if your heart wants to smile everyday.
I am a route 91 shooting victim and as a part of my therapy I worked with mustangs who played an instrumental role in helping me heal from the trauma I’ve experienced.
I came across Skydog Sanctuary through social media and sent the owner Clare an email about my story and she responded immediately and invited me to her ranch in Malibu so I could interact with her mustangs.
Skydog Sanctuary is a forever home for wild mustangs who have experienced many forms of physical and emotional trauma. Many don’t realize how relational horses are and when they are ripped from their families to be placed in holding facilities it is tragic.
Not only are many hurt or killed but the ones who actually make it are forever changed. Then to make matters even worse. They are adopted out to people who are inexperienced, and the horses end up being neglected, abused or starved and then sent to auction at reduced prices which attract kill buyers who load the horses on a truck and send them to Canada or Mexico where horse meat is used for human consumption.
So for me, Clare’s herd and I have a lot in common and through my interactions with them I feel a bond to Skydog that has forever changed me.
I’ve have had the honor of personally volunteering at Skydog Sanctuary in Malibu, Oregon and Miraposa. I also donate regularly through Patreon and whenever possible I jump at the chance to donate to Skydog so I can be apart of saving more mustangs and donkeys.
This Sanctuary is unique and I believe it’s because Clare’s passion and positive spirit. It’s contagious and I’m not the only one that feels it. I honestly think when new horses arrive they feel the same energy and instantly let their guard down knowing they are some place extraordinarily special.
Being a part of the Skydog family and being able to interact and touch these amazing majestic horses as they live in peace without fear that their freedom ever being taken away is an honor and blessing. #mustangsheal #mustangstrong
Skydog Sanctuary is a wonderful organization who works extremely hard to both save at risk Mustangs and Burros AND advocate for on the range management and fair treatment if our wild horses and Burros.
I see first hand how much time, effort, and passion goes into their work.
Clare Staples is seemingly tireless, and a more committed person you will never meet.
The current staff at the Ranch is also amazing, putting in extra time and hours, all to help the horses.
I also love how Clare and Skydog promote and practice cooperation between different organizations.
All in allIcannot say enough good things about Skydog, and I feel privileged to do my small part
My experience with Clare Staples and Skydog Sanctuary has been entirely virtual (so far). I am moved by her hard work behind the passion to help horses and burros in need. Her heart is in the right place and it shows in the faces of the animals she's saved from an unfair, horrible fate.
Adore Skydog & the super human beings who take exceptional care of their rescues.
I have loved the wild horses since I was a baby, and my heart has suffered my entire life at how they are so inhumanely treated. Skydog is doing ethical, humane, loving work to help these precious, precious, beautiful, wonderful horses. I am immeasurably grateful to them for their work.
This woman and her husband and their crew rescue endangered Mustangs and Donkey's the work she has done getting these beautiful creatures who are being sold for meat by the BLM Oregon and everyother state. she has taken at first only the Males now she opened her sanctaury to Mares and their babies for fear of what fate is in store for them. The BLM currently are going to spay Mares which is the most excruciating life threatning thing you can do to a Mare. beside the fact that they are ripping their babies from them. They are currently in a fight with the BLM Oregon to get them but they are saying NO after telling Skydog yes. Claire has 9,000 acres in Oregon where she mends the broken and the treatened back into the life they are born to the wild of her land where no one can ever hurt them again they are maintained cared for and yet free and some are not broken they are wild and free but after awhile with the loving care them come right up to Claire and Janelle and Co with love and trust she also has a sanctuary in Malibu and with the help of loyal followers like me who donate when she needs us. Creates the life they deserve Please so to her sight and she the marvels of SKYDOGSANCTUARY TODAY YOU WON'T REGRET IT
To put it simply, Skydog does amazing work. Whether it is caring for the mustangs and donkeys that are in their care, rescuing at-risk mustangs/donkeys or educating their followers about current issues facing mustangs/donkeys, Skydog never ceases to amaze and impress me. They are truly making a difference in the lives of so many animals.
I've been following Skydog from almost the beginning, and I always felt the organization was special, unlike other rescues. The team at Skydog is so passionate about mustangs' (and all animals') welfare, and they show their dedication and devotion every single day.
I gladly donate monthly to Skydog because I know their care and love for the horses in their care (and future ones) knows no bounds. The organization is so clear about the values and role it plays within the community and it's all about giving, caring and sharing, which are such fantastic values for any human being to embody. Skydog keeps growing and attracting more volunteers who also learn about mustangs. It's a win-win for all.
I donate monthly to Skydog so they can help mustangs in need. I feel like their mission is amazing, and to see them work so hard to save these horses helps me know that I’m donating to the right organization. I hope their work can continue for many many years to come.
